It's crazy how great this laptop is, given that it has such an affordable price point. It is touchscreen, which is really helpful if you are used to working on a phone or table (and have a habit of touching the screen on your laptop, so it's a treat to finally have touchscreen work on the laptop now.)
The laptop is fast, and the 256 GB storage is SSD so I don't worry about carrying it during travel. It's also super lightweight, which makes it easy to slip into a large purse or backpack. The memory and storage are more than adequate for viewing YouTube videos, surfing the web, or working on Google documents or presentations.
The touchpad works great, so we don't use the mouse that we got for it. Overall, I highly recommend this as it's been one of the best value laptops we every purchased.

Lightweight, slim, quiet, pretty fast. Battery life isn’t great. Takes a while to charge and dies rather quickly. The screen brightness isn’t as bright and vivid as I expected it to be but that’s just my preference. I love the touchscreen but a backlit keyboard would have been perfection! For the price, it’s definitely worth it and it is very useful for the average clientele. Not for those who wish to be free from the cord.

Hello, Quiles11, thank you for choosing Lenovo! In advance, this is a lengthy response, as we want to fully address each aspect of your pronouncement. First, with screen brightness and keyboard backlighting, these are features that, as you can see, can vary from model to model. We hope that this IdeaPad 3i 15 meets your needs despite your displeasure with those two aspects. Regarding battery life, this model ships with an integrated 35Wh battery, which within this model configuration, has a battery life of up to 5.5 hours, depending on device settings and the work the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, first, set your screen brightness at less than 100-percent - try 80-percent to start with. Then, be sure Battery Charge Threshold is turned off. This power management setting should only be used when the laptop is plugged in all the time. It will prolong overall battery life by only charging the battery to 60-80 percent of capacity. You can turn off Battery Charge Threshold within the Lenovo Vantage APP installed on this computer. In Vantage select Battery Settings and turn off Battery Charge Threshold, if turned on. Also, here is a link to a webpage that details various options for disabling background applications and processes that may be using battery: https://allthings.how/how-to-turn-off-background-apps-in-windows-11/ Upon making these changes, if the issue persists, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Tech Support at this phone number for continued assistance: 877-453-6686.

If you need an inexpensive, capable and expandable laptop, this is a great deal. Surprisingly snappy for a Core i3 machine, upgradable RAM and SSD, plus touchscreeen. The only real negative is the display, which is to be expected at this level of machine. Screen is not super-bright and is below 1080p resolution. It’s quite adequate for surfing the web, writing, email, etc. Shortcomings aside, it is a very good value.

I recently purchased this laptop and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. This laptop has exceeded all my expectations and has truly been a game-changer for both work and play.
First and foremost, the performance is outstanding. Its powerful processor and ample RAM allow me to breeze through tasks effortlessly. Whether I’m running multiple applications simultaneously or indulging in resource-intensive games, this laptop handles it all with ease.
The display quality is top-notch. The vibrant colors and sharp resolution make watching movies, editing photos, and browsing the web a delight. I waited a good period to write a review. I have had this laptop about six months now. It has worked flawlessly. It is not designed for gaming with the graphics card but it does play normal games well. The screen is decent but not popcorn movie worthy. The Intel i3 processor keeps up with a lot of open tabs for me. When I got it I checked and at idle it uses 5gb of ram so I upgraded to the maximum of 12 gb. It has 1 soldered 4g and one is not so you can add 8gb. It uses ddr4 2666mhz. I used it for 3 months before I realized it was touchscreen. So far my experience with this laptop has been great.

I love this laptop for the simple fact that it’s easy to use. I don’t game on it, so I can’t speak on if it’s any good for that, but for everyday use, it’s great. It’s thin, lightweight and fit well in a backpack for traveling. The touch screen is a nice feature.

This laptop arrived for me early December, 2022. It died a dramatic death on December 31, 2024. The motherboard entirely shorted out after months of fussing with it to try to keep it at base levels of functional, because it had started crashing and freezing programs daily, to the point I had Task Manager open almost constantly to kill all the extraneous processes it was creating.
For context, I don't have a computer degree or anything like that, but I've been able to debug and troubleshoot my own computer's software successfully since I was a child and was able to repair and replace the hardware of a previous laptop to keep it functional for 7-8 years, even when homeless.
I bought this IdeaPad because my previous laptop finally hit a wall of repairs. It desperately needed a new hard drive but the BIOS had an error I couldn't overcome to make it accept the new one. My family didn't have much money - we'd just gotten a place after being homeless, so this is what I thought I could get at the time to be able to continue my wfh as soon as possible.
It was a newer model of my wife's laptop, and she was satisfied with hers so I thought it would be alright. I unfortunately neglected to consider the two of us are extremely different kinds of computer users - I do nearly all communications and work through my laptop, needing it on and online nearly constantly. I run process-heavy programs including audio and graphics editing software. My wife mostly uses her laptop for web surfing and low-resource casual games.
You'll notice I gave this review 2 stars and started saying how the laptop died. Before I get into listing the bad, let's start with the good qualities:
- the touchscreen is extremely helpful. After having this, I don't want to go back to non-touch.
- The screen is appropriately weighted for the hinges and chassis so it doesn't tear itself apart with normal use (you might think this is a strange positive but my previous Dell didn't pass this bar)
- It sure was affordable without being a Chromebook
- I really liked the backlit keyboard
- The keyboard and touch plate area of the chassis is metal or metal-like plastic, which feels and looks nice, and might have helped increase durability in that spot, but I'm not sure.
- The SSD worked well and I had no problems with it, other than running out of space
- this model has a spot on the inside where you can install an additional 3.5" drive if you're brave (it only contains the metal cradle piece next to the battery and a port into the MB, you need all the hookups separately)
- the 8GB RAM is probably adequate for the average user's needs. It (mostly) ran everything I needed until it began having motherboard issues near the end.
- It starts in S Mode, which is good for users who aren't confident in their tech literacy and want to be sure they can't accidentally install malware. I would definitely recommend a computer with S Mode enabled for (very) young or much older users, particularly those who don't have ready access to someone who can help them fix their computer if it bogs down. However, disabling this mode for those who don't want or need it is easy.
And now, the bad...
- The display is... alright. The colors seem fine to me. the brightness? Terrible. And I'm someone with chronic migraines so I normally keep my brightness fairly low. I frequently strained to see details on the screen if the room was too well-lit.
- the parts feel flimsy. This is a BUDGET laptop and you'll spend every moment knowing it. Working with it to do repairs is a constant fear that you'll chip something fragile and too-thin plastic.
- Related: Do not buy if you intend to carry it around. It only has a 2hr effective battery life. It may say it's more, and maybe mine was shorter because I was using mine All The Time and mostly plugged in, but you will be glued to an outlet or rushing to find one. Additionally, because the plastic chassis is so flimsy - and, flimsy in extremely structurally key points like, oh, the top corners where the screw holders for the hinges are kept? - you literally run the risk of destroying the entire laptop irreparably carrying it in your bag.
- the charge block is weighted in such a way that it keeps falling/pulling itself out of the wall so you end up realizing your laptop hasn't been charging. It also is huge on the plug side, inexplicably, so it's difficult to fit with other electronics.
- the charge cord is far too short for a laptop that only has a 2hr battery life.
- I'm (primarily) a writer by trade, so replacing laptop keyboards is a normal business expense; even decent ones will just get worn out with enough use. I also have nerve damage in my fingers, so I probably type a bit harder than many users in the first place. By the time I needed to replace my keyboard the first time, the warranty had run out, so the keyboard had only lasted a year. While not TERRIBLE, my previous laptop's first keyboard lasted at least 3 years before giving out.
- I want to speak with whoever designed the keyboard enclosure personally. It's bonkers. Keyboards are often daunting to replace for the uninitiated (you frequently have to disassemble the whole thing to get to it, but this IdeaPad's keyboard assembly is just INSULTING with its design. It's held in with plastic soldering, which is a NIGHTMARE to peel off (it took me hours), requires separate tools not everyone has, or else finding another computer-safe alternative - preventing a common repair need on this, let me repeat FLIMSY laptop, and will make this laptop cost more for in the long run, particularly if you don't or can't get a repair plan at purchase. This whole design problem could have been solved with a couple screws, but the bug is a feature of making the laptop intentionally difficult to repair at home.
- There's so much open space inside and very little holding things in place. Jolts and bumps can cause PROBLEMS and it's a big design issue. Definitely don't install a HDD in the 3.5" slot; there's not much inside to help absorb shocks.
- The heat sink assembly is especially poorly designed. It's just kind of... floating there. There's a little space preventing it from touching the MB in places and it appears to be running on mostly faith. Remember how I mentioned the weak points in the screw enclosures in the top corners? Well, turns out if those screw enclosures, which fail easily, do fail, OPENING THE LAPTOP AT SPECIFIC, NORMAL ANGLES will cause juuuuust enough pressure on the heat sink to cause it to dip into the MB and short it. And kill the whole thing. Dramatically. Nothing you do can save it if it has gotten to this point, really.
- I'm awaiting an M.2 external enclosure so I can attempt to recover data from the laptop corpse, but I don't THINK there was too much data corruption, at least. Still. The machine was far more headaches than it was worth overall.
I've attached a photo of the internals. I had already taken the photo to compare the internals of my new laptop with a friend, so in the photo the RAM stick and SSD are removed. The SSD would normally be located below the fan and WiFi chip, horizontally. The RAM card would normally be in the slot that looks like a light blue rectangle on the right-hand side of the motherboard below the heat sink (that black arm-looking thing). The battery is also unplugged/screwed in the photo as I'd been storing it in case my wife's laptop ends up needing an emergency spare.
TL;DR: Don't get it. You can find better. If you MUST get it, get a decent repair plan and back up your data religiously.

I needed a laptop for basic at-home things that I didnt want to do on my iPad.
This little machine boots up almost instantly, whisper quiet, plenty of space at 256ssd. These days most people ise a cloud service for mega storage, so 256 is plenty.
Surfing super speedy, using MSOffice is a breeze. Not so much a gaming computer, but for an at-home workhorse, it does a great job.

I bought this for my mom as a Christmas gift. She always tells me how much quicker it is than her old one (her old laptop was an absolute terd). I am proof that this is a great laptop for a 65 year old that just does email, facebook, shopping and checking the weather. Bought it at black friday and the price point was amazing - almost unreal given how her old terd wasn't much cheaper than I got this one.
Only thing is I rolled it back to Windows 10 since that's what she's familiar with.

I was in the market for a portable work station of sorts when traveling or being somewhere away from my desktop and in need of working on some projects. This laptop checks all the boxes for me. It holds a charge for quite awhile, it has a touchscreen which can make things easier, and it's fairly lightweight! I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a touchscreen laptop that's more on the affordable side.
