To start, please ensure that your Chromebook is up to date, as outdated, buggy software can affect system performance and overall stability. To check for updates, please open the Settings app, then select the “About ChromeOS” tab in system settings, then Check for Updates. If after updates the issues persists, we the recommend doing a hardware reset (visit the following link to learn how to do so: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en&sjid=11168473644130281663-NA), which reboots the embedded controller that manages various system components, in an attempt to resolve the performance issue.

This is due to the level of security provided by ChromeOS, powered by Google Chrome and Google Services, along with saving your device data so that if it is lost or needs to be reset, within just a few minutes your device is just like it was before. It’s kinda slow, but what do you expect at this price?

Very slow, failed half of CPU tests

I didn't expect anything lightning fast from a Chromebook with an Intel Celeron processor, but I expected it to be at least on par my (several years old) Android phone. This Chromebook is almost unusable - I closed all the programs and the CPU was still running at >90%. I ran the CPU tests and it failed both the CPU stress test and cache test (it passed the floating point accuracy and prime search tests). Shame on me for realizing too late that Best Buy only allows 15 day returns instead of 30 days - I was trying to install updates and restart the device in hopes it would behave. I would return this if I could because it is just junk.

Good for sale price

Wish they would have touch screens standard on these things. Used to be able to get cheap chrome books with touchscreens but now you have to pay more than I want for that feature.

Slow and refurbished

I didn’t have many files stored on the laptop and it just ran so slow. It was refurbished and I was being cheap so I took that on the chin. I just recently purchased a new Lenovo Ideapad, not the Chromebook. 10/10 for the Ideapad. I think Chromebooks are great for college students. I am no longer a fan of the desktop setup on chromebooks. And certain apps aren’t compatible with it like Excel.
