Do NOT buy Geek Squad Certified of this laptop

I bough the geek squad certified of this laptop because it is intended for one of my managers for my construction business, so I assumed the Geek Squad Certified would be pretty much as good as new. Well when the computer arrived it was locked with someone else's information. I called the tech support and they were extremely unhelpful. They told me I had to take it to a store to the Geek Squad. I took it to my local store and the Geek Squad guy told me that since it has someone's else's information they were going to have to take it and couldn't give it back to me until they had erased it. So that was at 6pm the day I got it, I didn't get it back until this afternoon at 1pm when magically everything was reset to factory settings. So unless you have the time to deal with this ridiculousness, which I really don't as I am a business owner, I strongly advise against purchasing a certified laptop from Best Buy. Next time I will buy all company computers from the manufacturers.

    Great sound - Horrible laptop

I read the few reviews here before buying and should have taken them to heart. I was only looking for a budget laptop to surf the web on the couch with, so I really didn't have any performance concerns. First the good. The JBL sound is fantastic. Really, really good for a budget laptop. Unfortunately, that's where it ends. In the store I liked the look of the brushed aluminum case but I hadn't considered how cold that thing would get in the winter. By the time I got home with it it was freezing cold. I can only imagine how hot if might get after transporting in a hot car in the summer. Not a good choice for a laptop, in my opinion, and as one of the other reviewers stated, there is a lip at the front that I found annoying. I could have lived with this if the laptop wasn't SOOOO slow. I actually thought something might be wrong with it. Simply opening a website would cause the browser to spin and spin while loading. I tried different browsers, and both wireless, and directly wired....didn't matter. I just don't have enough time in the day to wait for this thing. This is the first computer I've ever returned. MUCH happier with the i3 Toshiba I ended up with.

I had high expectations for the Full HD resolution, the AMD A-10 Series processor and the 8GB memory. However, within the first 2 hours it had to restart Edge, then it had to restart Windows Explorer, and it finally froze altogether. I couldn't even click on the Start Menu. I had to take it back for a full refund. Bummer!

    Piece of cra*

Piece of cra* is my nickname for my new laptop that I bought at Best Buy at the beginning of this year. Just after a month from purchase it started crashing and would go through an auto-recovery, but eventually even that work anymore and the laptop was unusable. I took it in to the Geek Squad and they sent it off for repair and I was without the laptop for a couple of weeks. They replaced the memory, the hard drive, and the motherboard. Before maintenance I also told them that the k on the keyboard sticks, or if I type too hard anywhere near the k, it will type a k. After maintenance the keyboard is even worse, the space bar is really delayed so that letters that I type after the space bar appear before the intended space so the letters of the words are broken up mid word. I spend a lot of time going back to correct what I type, and have to type slow so that the computer can keep up.

This is absolutely the WORST computer I have ever owned! (And I had a TRS 80 in the 80's) My last computer was a Lenovo and I loved it. This thing is slow in EVERY aspect. Whether working online or off it is choppy and drags. I would strongly recommend looking in a different direction..
