Really nice!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a 2 in 1 computer and tablet, and this fits the bill pretty well! I've only had it for a week now but I love it. The keyboard is pretty thin, but that makes the overall IdeaPad more slim and sleek, and it has good clicky buttons. Attaching and detaching the tablet itself is really easy, with a nice loud snapping sound. The tablet is definitely bigger and heavier than I expected. It's less like an iPad than I thought (it's more rectangular than square like) but I'm okay with that. I can download apps from the Google Play Store and stream and play games like an iPad kid. But whether its in tablet or Chromebook mode, I can access the web like any good computer and get work done effectively and efficiently. So far, battery life is really good, charging time is really good, and processing speeds are also really good! Currently looking for a screen protector for the screen, and a decent stylus so I can write on it like a notebook. Thanks!

Great components in general but some serious flaws
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On the good side ○ ChromeOS with 8 years of updates ○ Outstanding OLED Full HD 13.3" touch screen - bright, color accurate, and crisp ○ Peppy feeling 8 core processor with only occasional brief slowdowns, and excellent power efficiency ○ Great battery (real world 10+ hours) ○ Great feeling keyboard with positive and accurate trackpad ○ 8gb RAM / 128gb SSD [not eMMC] perform well and have plenty of capacity for ChromeOS / Android ○ Slim and light with good materials, fit, finish for main tablet On the bad side ○ Thin bezels and failure to reject spurious inputs from holding as a tablet, problems with software keyboard in tablet mode, and power switch position/feel that lead to accidental activation make for a terrible user experience as a tablet. Extremely disappointing given the quality of all the major components. A firmware or driver update could likely fix most of these things but we'll have to see if one becomes available and how well/if it works. Until then I just wouldn't recommend this for tablet use at all. ○ Two piece magnetically detachable kickstand (with sharp edges) and keyboard (with no backlighting) make for only fair laptop use - on a desk its fine, but goes downhill somewhat on your lap, and forget it lounging/laid back. This could really benefit from a one piece keyboard/cover like an iPad Air uses - that would dramatically improve the laptop experience in any position. Much stronger magnets might help as well. ○ Linux use may push Processor/Ram/Storage capacity and speed Conslusions ○ I used a Microsoft Surface Pro tablet with magnetic keyboard for years and it was a great tablet, and a good laptop convertible from most positions. ○ This Chromebook Tablet with magnetic keyboard and kickstand has many great components, a great form factor, and its reasonably priced, but tablet issues with thin bezels and spurious inputs make it a terrible tablet experience, and the two piece magnetic kickstand and keyboard only make for a fair laptop convertible in limited positions. ○ So in general I would not recommend it until the issues can be resolved. If things get fixed (and I don't return the tablet) I'll post an update to this review.

Extremely Happy with this Chromebook from Lenovo
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My PC died unexpectedly and I decided that I didn't need another PC, hoped that I could save some money and pick up a Chromebook. Best Buy had this Lenovo Chromebook on sale so I thought I would give it a shot. After 4 weeks I'm very happy with my purchase. Screen is beautiful and I love using the touchscreen with the keyboard. Keyboard is good not great, battery life is excellent. It's portable, not too heavy, but I do think it could have been a bit lighter, but not an issue. As a tablet it's ok, pretty big for everyday use for my liking, but as a desktop PC replacement it's awesome.

**Versatile and Powerful 2-in-1 Chromebook!**
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook has exceeded my expectations in every way. I was looking for a device that combines the best features of a tablet and a laptop, and this beauty delivers on all fronts. The ability to easily detach the keyboard and switch to tablet mode is perfect for my college work and travel needs. One of my favorite things to do is relax in bed and effortlessly switch between using the keyboard or holding it like a large tablet. The 13.3" FHD OLED touchscreen is incredibly easy on the eyes, especially during nighttime use, offering vibrant colors and deep blacks that make any content look stunning. The battery life is another standout feature—it lasts all day, even with heavy usage. The keyboard itself is fantastic, with a raised design that gives each key a satisfying feel when typing, so my fingers can land confidently on each key without slipping.I also love the seamless integration with my Android phone. Being able to unlock the Chromebook automatically when I unlock my phone is a small but convenient feature that makes a big difference in everyday use.Overall, the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook is a fast, responsive device with countless benefits. Whether for work, study, or leisure, it's an absolute pleasure to use. Highly recommended!

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop! It's small, with a larger screen. I would suggest buying a screen protector or some kind of protective cover for the tablet portion.

Awesome Ultra-Portable
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Chromebook is everything I could have wanted. I already have a beefy gaming laptop but it's battery doesn't last super long and it is heavy so this thin and light machine is perfect. It's pretty fast and I can use it for 15+ hours. The OLED screen is just a bonus.

The best Chromebook I've ever owned!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Chromebook has been simply amazing since day one. The 13.3 screen is the perfect size for those wanting a Chromebook that isn't too big but not needing-to-squint small. That keyboard is surprisingly comfortable to use with a nice clicking sound for each button. It does not feel mushy at all. The OLED screen is perfect for watching videos and amazing for cloud gaming. That said, I've never had an issue streaming to this device using Geforce Now. Android native games play smoothly as well once you update the device to run Android 13. Seriously, this is the perfect Chromebook.

LOVE IT!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I mainly bought it for my college classes. I have to “show my work” for my math class and few others, the tablet works amazing, no issues so far, i bought $10 set of three pens from amazon to use it with and it was compatible. It charges fast and the battery lastes. I took it to work one week to catch up on homework and everyone there couldn’t believe i bought it for so cheap. The camera works good and i live that i can take off the keyboard when ever i dont need it. Im planning on using it for my cricut crafts, now that my classes are over.

Watching videos is great thsnks to the high quality display and fast processor. The detachable keyboard is sturdy and feels like a full size keyboard. So easy to type. It's lightweight and easy to carry anywhere. Batter life is super and charges quickly when needed. Does the job for when i don't want to lug around my HP laptop. Very pleased with my purchase.

Great addition to my Chromebook collection
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have the original Duet. Quite pleased with it. The Duet 5 improves with speed, battery, image quality. Back kickstand is not as thick as the Duet, which is a plus. Wish the kickstand also helped hold it in portrait mode as well. Keyboard is easier to use compared to the Duet because of it's size. Glad I purchased it.

Love it
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First day I got this my husband took it away. He loved it. He was using it mostly as a tablet to watch YouTube. He loved it so much, by the end of the night he wanted his own. The display is beautiful. I don't understand why some people don't like it. It's crazy bright. Speakers are fine with me. I don't expect Bose quality HAHA! Keyboard is great too. I can type with my long acrylic nails since the keys are flatter than most laptop keyboards. I can use the keyboard on my lap with no problem. Keys are responsive. Battery life is insane. I am a heavy user and I can go a full 12 hrs. without charging. I keep the brightness between 50-75 % because like I previously mentioned, it is super bright. I like the portability of it. I paid 399, and I think that it is well worth it. I don't know if I would have paid 499. Get this if it ever goes on sale so you can try it out. What works for me might not work for you. I'm not super tech savvy and I don't upgrade my devices every year. This is great for the average consumer who wants to use for YouTube, internet browsing, Netflix, etc. Overall, I am so happy I got this versus a regular laptop. It's not even that heavy.

It's ok when you get a resonable price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Is it functional? Yes but it is hard to use in tablet form. Battery life: reading ebooks or web reading approx 14 -17 hours but when watching Youtube videos at 480 resolution it drops down to 7 hours and back gets pretty warm. Screen: kinda ridiculous, do not fall for the OLED spec. Oversaturation of RED and Blue to the point of glow in the dark. I tried adjusting color on accessibility option (grayscale option) helps. Faces on video always seem like excessive makeup, pasty like mannequins skin. I use Tab 11 model for watching videos LED is much better (color accuracy) but you do not get true blacks with LED Tablet use: Ungainly with edges causing clicks (needs a bigger edge for holding in tablet form or a table cover that increases holding edge Chromebook laptop functions appears fine. Split screen function is excellent I use android apps to stay away from everything running in Chrome browser. Next model they need to add a microsd slot. A note about Chromebook. No timer or alarm clock in Chromebook like in Android. You can download Google alarm clock but no icon on home screen so you had to always go to playstore to open clock or contacts. Solved: open each one and then you can pin the icon to shelf so you do not have to go to playstore to open those android apps. Sleep function I am not happy with. If I am listening to music and not touching Chromebook in like 7 minutes it goes into sleep no matter what. I chose option that when on battery just turn off screen but it still goes to sleep in 7 minutes. So I have to use my other tablets to listen to music. I have Tab 11 and Fire HD 11 but they were to small to use as a laptop. I will admit this Chromebook as a laptop fits the bill and Chromebook support until 2031 is why I purchased it. I did not want to buy another Windows laptop for traveling. Since I rarely need the attachable keyboard, Lenovo for additional charge should sell a cover for this that does stand for landscape or portrait mode. For my tab 11 and Fire Hd I have a tablet cover that works as a stand for landscape or portrait mode. Overall I am happy with how much I paid (discount)

Attainable OLED
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first tabet. Why did I buy this? I wouldn't have if it weren't for that darn OLED screen and the price. I am serious, I wasn't seriously interested in owning a tablet prior to hearing about this one. I would give this 5 stars but I decided to deduct a star for the odd kickstand, poor speakers, lack of headphone jack, and dated 16:9 ratio. I am a budding videophile and amateur photographer. When I buy electronics I look very closely at the screen and its specs. The value you are getting(I bought this on sale and open-box) is very strong considering the competition. Watching tv and movies is a real treat. Until 120hz and/or mini-led are available at this price point--this is the best you are going to do. It comes with a keyboard that works well enough and attaches firmly via magnets. The kickstand on the back also attaches via magnets which is an odd choice. I wish the stand was just built-in the unit like seemingly every other tablet. Unfortunately, the speakers are just awful. For tv or youtube, it sounds fine but for movies or music, I strongly suggest pairing with a Bluetooth speaker or headphones. The performance is good, 8gb of ram is plenty for ram hungry Chrome and general multitasking. The battery lasts longer than anything else I own and it uses USB C so I don't have to buy more cables and adapters. They even put in two USB C ports when just one would have been acceptable. Note: no head phone jack. Having used it for a little while now, I would prefer a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of the 16:9. It's a little too tall to hold comfortably with one hand when using it vertically. But you don't waste any screen real estate when watching videos. It's a trade-off I can live with for now... As an aside: Chromebooks really piqued my interest when they first came out ~ a decade ago. The promise of a low-cost computer that relied on servers in the cloud to do the heavy lifting seemed cool. But the initial devices were so small and cheaply built that I passed. Now that there is a wider variety of models I happy to join the Chromebook fam.

Incredible value let down by CPU
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Duet 5 is an incredible hardware value let down by the CPU. The OLED screen is fantastic with deep blacks, great color saturation, and more than adequate brightness. It is a 16x9 format which is good for watching movies. The speakers are good for the price, and the tablet is well built, light and thin. Considering the case and keyboard come in the box, this is a whole lot of hardware value for the money (especially on sale). Battery life is outstanding. The included keyboard and trackpad are better than expected (would have appreciated backlight on the keyboard but understand its absence at this price). The case is really well made considering that it is free in the box and makes this a potential laptop replacement (although it is nearly useless on an actual lap). The biggest disappointment of the Duet 5 is the slow CPU. Complex web pages load slowly - sometimes so slowly it appears to have locked up briefly and then the formatting of the page catches up. Plugged into an external monitor, it is even slower. It will eventually get the job done, but you WILL notice the slowness. If you really want a ChromeOS tablet, or you plan to use it primarily for watching media, it is easy to recommend. However, if you expect something more like an Android tablet or iPad, you will be disappointed and I would not recommend. Certainly if you plan to do actual work on this device an Intel or AMD-powered Chromebook would be a better choice.

Best portable oled for the price.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it for the 1080 OLED, you cant find a portable Oled for any where near what this is even at full price. I use it to stream my pc to it with nvidia moonlight. The chrome book version doesnt work, but this chrome book can use the android play store and that version does work fine. I also tried a few android games and they seemed to work fine as well. You will not find a better screen for 499. I wish it had a way to control the colors, contrast, and stuff like that but alas it doesnt have a way i could find to do that. Stock settings though it looks almost as good as my lg cx oled. 1080 is way more than enough at 13 inches about 2 feet. If you hold it to your face you can see the pixels but im not sure why you would want to hold it to your face. If i take my glasses off I have to be within about 10 inches to it, which at that range i can see the pixels. This screen is better than the apple 10000 led screen that comes with the 1000 dollar i pad pro 12.9 which I have had. It 100 percent is no where near the speed of a the i pad pro. If you are looking for the best screen for browsing the internet, movies, and low end android games there is no better for 499. If you have a nvidia card pc, and want to have a portable screen this is def the choice for the price. You wont find anything better I have looked. Now if you spend 2 grand a 4k oled would be better, but we gotta stay with the 289 to 499 this thing is. The s7 plus has a slightly better screen but its smaller and double the price. So if speed is what your after, and 120hz with money not being a problem the s7 plus is a better portable oled. To stream 1080 120hz though, you better have a nice router it takes a solid 100 plus mbps with no interruptions to be able to smoothly play 1080 120hz from a pc. As far as chrome OS goes, its basically the same as android as far as i can tell, some of the apps wont work right cause of comparability so if you are looking to do something specific better ask some one with chrome os if the android app works. I can tell you Arua kingdom 2 works fine, and Nvidia moonlight. Wildlife 3d mark does not work. The last thing I want to say is chrome with ad blocker which genrally only worked on pc is better than any browser android has to offer, the closet android has is brave, but browsing on the internet on this is equal to a pc.

Great option for an extra personal use laptop.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Perfect solution for an extra laptop. Needed a non-work computer for email, surfing, spreadsheets and low-key uses like that. Was a bit nervous about a non-windows machine, but aside from a few quirks that I have to get used to or look for apps to fill the gaps, this has been great. Love the detachable keyboard, touchscreen, tablet mode. Battery life has been good.

Chrome OS as a tablet lives up to it's potential.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In the little over 24 hours I've had this, I couldn't recommend it more. I'm coming from a Tab S6 and while I loved that tablet, I wanted something that had a little more integration with my Pixel and after looking at several different options, I found this in an open box deal for $130 off the regular price and couldn't pass it up. As far as the device itself, the reviews don't do the screen justice. It is beautiful and as far as my eyes can tell is only just a touch behind the screen on my Spin 713, which is the best I've seen. All the reviews I watched and read said the speakers were nothing special, however I've found them to be very good for media consumption and just a few ticks below the Tab S6. Battery life has been amazing so far and totally lives up Lenovo's claims. In the limited time I used the keyboard attachment, it worked great for an add-on and doesn't take away from the overall enjoyment of this device. As a tablet most may think the size of the device difficult to hold, but using it as a tablet for most of the day for watching Youtube and Netflix, I didn't find it hard to hold or get tired after long stretches. The only 2 negatives I could find with the device is with confusing stylus situation and lack of biometric login. There is a slot on the back plate for a stylus holder but nothing in the box and Lenovo hasn't mentioned anything about the holder or how it can be purchased. While this holder and a stylus would have been a nice inclusion, I already owned a USI stylus so this wasn't something that concerned me too much. As far as the biometric login, I would have liked to have it, but to pass up on everything else this device offers over the lack of face recognition or a fingerprint sensors seems shortsighted. Overall I would say if you are looking for a Chrome OS tablet that nails pretty much everything about a tablet well, but also gives you the option to use it as a full fledged Chromebook, this is the best option out there right now.

An Amazing, Versatile Machine at Reasonable Cost
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this as an "open box" item from Best Buy. It was in excellent condition. First, let's start with the versatility: This isn't "just a Chromebook." It is whatever you want it to be, and Google has made such advancements with ChromeOS that almost every Android app functions well on it. The screen is an amazingly beautiful 13.3" detachable OLED, so the colors and clarity are so nice looking you can forgive the smaller resolution and refresh rate of 60 hrz. A magnetic keyboard and back stand easily attach and though it has a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, It was easily running any game I threw at it. The battery life is an excellent 15 hrs. a day, so some days I don't even charge it! It comes with a 30w rapid charger and USB cable. You may also use an IPS Pen on the screen (sold separately). It has four speakers, and they are ok, but great. You can easily hear it when in a quiet environment, There are two USB type C connectors on each side of it and the 8GB of RAM that come with it make sure the Snapdragon can do its' work. It is also amazingly light and thin given it's whopping 13.3" screen. The keyboard is good, though not great. I wouldn't purchase if were wanting to write a novel and needed a tactile feel back from the keys, and it has a touchpad on the keyboard. Some things about it you absolutely love so much you are willing to forgive the other areas where a few corners were cut to keep its' price down. There is no headphone jack, so you'll have to use to wireless earbuds, but it casts easily to other devices and Bluetooth works well. The final icing on the cake? Lenovo will be providing 10 YEARS of ChromeOS updates for it, which is simply amazing. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied with it and enjoy using it so much in work and at home that I hardly go on my PC or use my phone for anything other than calls.
