Great tablet for the price! a Winner
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for a vibrant touch screen tablet that acts more like a laptop with ChomeOS, look no further. This is a winner. 8GB RAM and 128GB Disk space is the MINIMUM you should be looking on a Chromebook. Sure, there are intel versions that outperform this mobile-type processor, but battery life is nowhere near what you can get with ARM. Remember, Chromebooks are mostly secondary computers, Windows and Mac's are workhorses. This is suitable for media consumption, email, and light work. You don't get Office programs in this, just web version apps, which are not as powerful. Despite these drawbacks inherent to ChromeOS rather than Lenovo, I just love this Chromebook. Pen is very responsive and a delight to use on screen. Deattach the keyboard and you've got a great tablet. Keyboard is a pleasure to type on. And that battery life!! at this price it's a steal.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. It uses Google Workspace for office type programs. Google Workspace is completely compatible with Microsoft Office Programs and this is a free service through the Google Server. If you currently have a Microsoft Office 365 Account, you can access that existing account through a Chromebook. Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo Chromebook Duet 5, model number 82QS001HUS. This Chromebook uses the Chrome Operating System and is compatible with Google Play Store APPs. Not all Google Play Store APPs are optimized for the Chrome Operating System. We recommend you check with the the specific APPs software publisher's web sites, of the APPs you have installed, for their compatibility with the Chrome operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration. If there are no incompatible APPs installed, but the issue continues, resetting your Chromebook back to original factory settings may correct the issue you are having. Awesome student laptop!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was searching for a laptop to start virtual learning for my son this year (6th grade). I was hesitant after reading the reviews to buy this. I wasn't sure if I should go chromebook or a regular laptop.. I decided to give this a shot. It is perfect. His school used chromebooks so he is familiar with everything, shortcuts, etc. The screen is a pretty good size and it handles having multiple tabs open without slowing down. I will remind him to close them out after there are 12 or so open but its still working fine when I do. Touchscreen is good Camera is good. He watches netflix and disney on it and we have no problems with the sound or quality. Do I like the cover as a support when in laptop mode..its ok. We have some books stacked behind it and then the folded back. Love how easily it detaches as a laptop. The magnet is strong. Not many choices for protective cases and the case it comes with definitely wouldn't protect it if it got dropped. Haven't really noticed how long it stays charged for. We use it plugged in all day long. Overall would definityly recommend!

Hope you have better luck then me.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for my daughter for Christmas for her school work. Right out of the box the computer would not turn on or charge. All I would get is a slow blinking red light on the side. Contacted Best Buy and I was two days out of there return policy, contacted Lenovo and they want me to send it to them for repairs with a time frame unknown pending parts to fix it. Lenovo customer service was poor, the Rep would not even listen to the problem and would assume what I was saying without listening. If you buy this product make sure you open it right away and make sure it even turns on. Good Luck.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you have experienced an issue with the IdeaPad Duet 5 Chromebook. If you are still having this issue, first, we recommend doing a reset on the device. Pushing the power button, or rebooting, does not remove the trickle charge that keeps the embedded controller (EC) running. A hard reset drops all power to the EC, so when the power comes back on it goes through a reinitialization. Since the EC controls the keyboard, touchpad, battery, and all other on-board peripherals, performing this it can potentially fix a wide range of problems. The procedure is detailed on this web page: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en . Some devices require specific steps, but most newer devices only require a simple keyboard sequence: First turn off your Chromebook completely (do not just close the lid). Next, hold down the Refresh keyboard icon key and then press and hold the Power button. Hold both down for 10 seconds. Release the Refresh key and then the Power button and your Chromebook will restart. If it does not start, press Power again. If your issues persist after this, we recommend reaching out to Lenovo Tech Support for Chromebooks at this number and letting the representative know what troubleshooting steps you have taken: 800-426-7378.

Lenovo ChromeBook Duet 5
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen is absolutely beautiful. Keep in mind that it has a low pixel density, so you may notice the image be a bit jaggedy. I do wish it came with 16 GB of RAM but what it lacks in power, it makes up with excellent battery life. I don't typically need to charge it until after 3 or 4 days. Not sure how to comment on the software. I didn't like the base or stable version it came with. After updating to the beta branch, I noticed a much smoother experience when using the tablet. Also like that you can use Linux and run android apps. Love the versatility of using it as either a laptop or a tablet. Do note that it is a bit heavy if using in tablet mode. The cover is very nice and adds durability. The keyboard is pretty good too, though I prefer a larger bluetooth keyboard when using it in desktop mode.

Perfect, especially for the price!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This a pleasure to have. It is quick and quickly connects to new wifi networks. Although it is a tad-bit heavy, I am very happy with the performance. It has a standard keyboard and is very comfortable. I really like that I can turn the tablet in a portrait layout and because of the touchscreen technology it is very convenient, especially on the airplane to continue working after lift off. It is also convenient to watch movies in landscape view on the airplane. It connects quickly with filming lights, earbuds, microphone earphones, wireless lavalier mics and most electronics via one of the two USB-C ports or Bluetooth technology. Because it is a Chromebook, you will enjoy the fact that whatever you have saved/are working on on your desktop, minimally, this tablet will remember it once paired. I really do like this tablet and bought one for a friend. Perfect for my pockets. Perfect for my professional pursuits.

It's Time to Upgrade
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook is an overall more capable multitasking machine than its prodecessor, especially if you opt for the one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. This particular version pairs the machine with enough ummph for Google Docs, Google Chrome, shuffling between YouTube videos, and gaming with your preferred streaming service (X cloud) to run smoothly and seamlessly. The 13.3-inch 1080p OLED screen is brilliant to view and use. Plus, it's stylus-friendly. The biggest improvement is the keyboard. It offers deeper key travel and a satisfying click for those writing essays. This plays into the overall build of the device. The web cam is surprisingly good for a Chromebook. The original Duet featured a 2 MP front camera and 8MP rear camera. As for the Duet 5, it comes with an improved 8 MP rear camera and 5MP front camera for video calls. In the age of Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, these cameras are a big deal. Fortunately, this tablet is up to the task. This Chromebook feels premium for the price. The Duet 5 shows off its two-tone aluminum build proudly, while still having some texture on the keyboard cover. Partly due to the $200 price difference from the original. The smaller more modern looking bezels are refreshing. The Lenovo duet 5 Chromebook also comes flush with more two USB-C ports. However, it sadly takes away the headphone jack. In the end, if you're looking for something a little larger that improves on every meaningful aspect of the original Duet don't hesitate to buy this device.

One of the best Chromebooks ever made
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Over two years and still going strong. If you're looking for a laptop that's easy to use, easy to maintain, quick to start, very secure, and has fantastic battery life then this is a great choice. Just be sure that a Chromebook fits your use case instead of a Windows or Mac laptop.

Great Vallue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for someone else who never owned a laptop before. However used to have an Android tablet. The person wanted a more full-featured PC but also wanted to play one or two Android games. They love the device. It plays their games very well. The screen looks beautiful - for games and movies alike. The speakers sound very good. The keyboard and track-pad are very usable. If I were to gripe, I'd wish that the keyboard was backlit. Other than that, it runs smoother than expected and the person who I bought it for is ecstatic. There might not be a better PC for the price - certainly not one in this form-factor.
