Great Tech! but with some limitations

I really enjoyed or appreciated the build quality of this device. I am an avid linux user and thought ChromeOS would be a great bridge between device and applications to do some tech work. Although I did do some research prior to purchasing what I didn't take into account was the ARM processor which made the install of certain applications impossible at the moment and I didn't want to wait for developers to catch up. Now if this was running Andriod it would have been a solid piece of tech but probably limited in other areas. It is definitely cutting edge and in the future I'm sure will eventually be a mainstream OS to share marketplace with Microsoft and Apple. But for right now it has its limitations from the perspective of performing tech work with such an awesome mobile device. Battery life was exceptionally good. Keep great temperatures and was able to handle very well most apps that were installable via play store. I returned for the Microsoft Surface Pro 8 i5. Yes, I had to dish out an additional 600 hundred dollars but, in this case, I'm paying for compatibility of apps and hardware. If all you require is light work, surfing and multimedia I think this would be a perfect device.

This Duet 5 with its OLED display is simply gorgeous! That's its primary good point. I get plenty of battery life out of it. This is, for me anyway, perhaps the best media consumption laptop / tablet you can get!

I've had an IdeaPad Duet which I loved, however I was hoping for something a little more responsive. I really waffled between the Duet 5 and the newer Duet 3, and after much research chose the 5 and boy am I glad I did! If you want to use this as a tablet, I'd recommend maybe checking it out in store first as it might be too big for some (I personally don't mind it), but if you intend to use it more like a light, very thin, portable laptop, this thing is excellent. It's performant, the screen is amazing, and it's just the right size IMO. Very happy with it!

1st (and best) Chromebook I've used

So far I've been loving this Chromebook. It's very fast, lightweight, and convenient for everyday use. I bought it to replace my bulkier laptop for things like budgeting, emails, checking tasks, streaming occasionally, etc. The tablet comes off easily and feels nice (although remember this one is quite a bit bigger than a typical tablet). Don't expect every Android app to look beautiful on this since they are designed mostly for phones and smaller tablets. Instead, you can use Chrome's "Create Shortcut" feature to save websites and choose that they open in their own window. This makes them feel like their own app and is the way I recommend using it. Overall a great product for the price!

This chromebook has best display, the speed is still great mid 2025. It is versatile, has long battery life. I wish the aspect ratio was 16:10 and had headphone port but are manageable.

Zippy Chromebook that doubles as a tablet

This is a major step up from the original 10" Duet I owned for a couple of years. The extra screen real estate is nice, especially with the OLED screen. Having 8GB of RAM allows to be very responsive and allows me to have many tabs open at one time. Detaching the keyboard turns it into a tablet. The 13.3" screen is a bit large to use as a tablet for long lengths of time, but in a crunch to read or watch a movie, it works just fine. If I was going to knock it for anything, it's that the keyboard does not completely fold to the back like the original Duet did. So you're left with the keyboard sitting to the side when you do use the screen as a tablet.

Nice looking display, keyboard and trackpad are nice, but I wish it came with the stylus that the cover was made to house. The stylus is available to purchase from Lenovo, but it is hard to find, there’s no pictures, and the chat support couldn’t confirm whether they had it or not. I found the model number after a bit of googling. It’s a bit unwieldy to use as a tablet and the keyboard is also the screen cover so I use it like a laptop. Maybe on the couch it could be used as a tablet? Battery lasts a long time. I use the included charger to power a hub on my desk and it charges other devices such as a surface pro 7.

Really awesome in terms of battery and hardware. ChromeOS is not the best tablet operating system and the bezels are very thin so you’ll usually need to keep the keyboard cover on. Very light and easy to Travel with. Has just enough power to accomplish any everyday tasks and very light gaming. Pretty great device for cloud gaming on Nvidia GeForce Now and Xbox cloud streaming. Has issues with some android apps not taking advantage of the oled display properly (gray black levels) in YouTube, ShadowPC, android based browsers. Overall a nice device although very inconsistent. New upgrades to ChromeOS have really slowed it down however it is still decent. The Snapdragon 7c is a very weak chip but it makes it by.

Screen is not that sharp, you can see pixels however it's very easy on the eyes and looks great with videos. The keyboard is great however the touchpad is iffy, so buy a mouse. Insanely great battery life. Most Android apps work as it is arm64 processor. Overall I would highly recommend this for the price. Linux also works. Would have given it five stars if the built-in trackpad was a little bit more accurate.

I've tried several Chromebooks and this is the best so far. Bought one a year ago, and now am getting another one for a brother, in July 2024. It works quite smoothly, the screen is great, and the keyboard is just fine. I really have no complaints and would recommend it to anybody who would like a compact Chromebook laptop & tablet.

The screen and capabilities of the chrome book duet rival top quality iPad pros. You can enable Linux on it which makes it a lot more customizable and the chrome os is convenient to use. The OLED screen is the BEST feature about this Lite weight tablet/chromebook. You can even buy a usi pen and use it like a sketchbook or notebook. It’s awesome hands down, and it’s on sale frequently for around $370-400. It’s battery life is ridiculously long with an all day life span. I’m definitely going to mess with the Linux features some more down the road.

Chose this over the HP Chromebook X2 11 after using the latter for a month. The gen 2 Snapdragon chip runs much smoother and faster than the gen 1 on the HP. The screen is gorgeous and the keyboard is better sized for longer stretches of typing. Screen size is unwieldy for tablet applications but to me it's the perfect 2 in 1 for media consumption.

If you use chrome you can send tabs to your tablet and use on the go. The screen is nice but I hope the next version is 4k oled or anything higher than 1080p. Other than that this is probably one of my best purchases. The battery lasts forever and having password autofills transfer over from my google account and android apps is super useful. It comes with a keyboard and back case unlike an ipad and has much more functionality being a chromebook tablet.
