Customers regard the IdeaPad Duet Chromebook favorably, particularly praising its ease of use, included keyboard, and excellent battery life. The device's value for the price and compact size are also frequently cited as positive aspects. While some users mention limitations in the amount of RAM and the sound quality of the speakers, the overall user experience appears to be quite positive.

Almost perfect device for home school kids

We have been using this for our elementary age home school children for the last several days and it is hard to beat this device at this price. The complaints are all minor. I can't for the life of me figure out why Lenovo left the head phone jack off, but they were kind enough to provide the adapter. It seems that it would have been easier just to build it in, but I am no engineer. Also, I would struggle with the cramped keys on the left side of the keyboard, but the kids have already gotten used to it. Otherwise it is close to perfect. It is really nice to have a device that can be a computer in the morning and a tablet in the afternoon. Each of our kids have had a chance to try it and the love it. We will definitely be buying one for each of them before the next school year. At this price point I can't imagine that there is anything close to this when it comes to value and performance.

I did not had big hopes for this equipment because of the price and including the keyboard. But i love it. I does everything i need to do and what i like the most is the battery life and how portable it is. I have a 17.3 laptop and i needed something smaller.

I'm an 82 year old woman with limited funds so price matters. I was also a beta tester of the CR 48 - the chromebook predecessor and have used various chromebooks ever since. I'm really enjoying using the Duet - it's light enough for my arthritic hands to hold in tablet mode, screen is bright enough for my old eyes, wish the sound was a bit better for my hard of hearing ears tho. Only other complaint is that it occasionally drops the Wi-Fi signal.

The machine itself for the price is excellent. Functions well and loads android apps. It has frozen several times, but I was able to restart it. I have two concerns for this Chromebook. Lenovo service is HORRIBLE. Long wait times, limited help when calling and the 'technical' representative as limited knowledge. VERY disappointing. The Best Buy people on the floor have more knowledge and are MORE helpful. In addition, I tried to obtain a hard case, Lenovo was USELESS. The only cases I can find are very nice BUT do not allow the keyboard to be integrated with add-on case. I wanted a case with more protection than is available with the out of the box configuration. The Lenovo support is why only 4 stars

Though not perfect, I'm still rating this" Excellent". As a Chromebook user, I've been waiting for this tablet since the initial first-looks came out in January. It is the perfect size and weight for a tablet with an included keyboard. I replaced my Samsung Tab S4 with the Duet and don't regret it at all. Though it is not super-fast, it does everything I need and includes access to all the same Android apps I used on my Tab S4. Attach the keyboard and I've got my desktop experience ready to go. Great tablet, just wish there were practical screen protector/case available. Eventually.

Just mostly wanted something for streaming music and video and this fits the bill. My only complaint is that the only port is a single USB-C. This same port is for charging/audio out/video out/etc. you can get adaptors, but it would be nice if I could charge the tablet and plug it into my stereo without having to get adaptors. A headphone jack and hdmi built in would be nice. I’ve also noticed that the Chrome OS is not supported by a lot of standard software. Hasn’t been a problem for me because it’s not what I’m using it for, but something to look into if you are dedicated to certain programs you run on Windows or MacOS.

This tiny Chromebook has become a favorite for everyday carry. Instead of lugging a larger laptop when I travel but still need to stay connected this is usually my choice, though I have other devices that could serve the same purpose, such as a iPad. While it an be used as a tablet, making it even smaller and lighter, I generally prefer a device with a keyboard so I keep the keyboard attached. Like all Chromebooks, setup is super easy--just sign in with your Gmail account and aver a few minutes for your Android apps (if you use any) to download you are off and running with all the Settings and Chrome apps that you previously used in a different Chromebook. If you are new to Chromebooks you just select apps And extensions from the store or just go with the ones that automatically come with the device. This device punches way above its weight, price-wise.

What a great little device. Nice and lightweight, snaps together and comes apart pretty easily, great build quality for the price. I would love to see a slightly higher end model come out with more RAM (8gb would be amazing) and maybe a few work-friendly features like a titan security chip and the ability to drive a high-res display through that USB-C port. The ability to secure the keyboard to the display with a little magnet or latch would also be nice. Make it $100 more and it'd still be a steal with a small spec upgrade. That said, I've got this thing set up as a media tablet for reading and movies that I can also use for some lightweight productivity in a pinch, and so far it seems perfectly suited for the task. It'll be a permanent fixture in my travel bag for sure - now I just need somewhere to go!

I bought this for an older family member to easily browse the internet wherever they want in the house, with a bigger screen than a phone. For that, this tablet is flexible and ideal. It easily handles simple tasks like browsing Amazon or watching YouTube videos, and managing emails. The included keyboard is convenient for quickly typing up messages. As far as con(s), the one issue that comes to mind with this device is its odd behavior for some apps when changing its orientation. Rather than rotating the app window to fit the screen in a way that makes sense, apps do not resize well as they do on other devices like a typical smartphone.

Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. This Chromebook Duet ships with the Chrome Operating System and is compatible with Google Play Store APPs. Not APPs at the Google Play Store are optimized for the Chrome Operating System, so while the APP will install on the Chromebook performance may not be optimum. We recommend you check with the specific APPs publisher's web site for compatibility with the Chrome Operating System. Lenovo

When I first saw the Duet being previewed months ago I was excited for the device. Best Buy was sold out and I was finally able to order one. I received the Chromebook and excitedly set it up and began going through the paces, downloading apps, testing the keyboard, seeing how everything worked. I only used it for about 15 minutes before I had to go to work. Normally, I would be excited to get back to using a new device, but I wasn't. I figured I was the perfect fit for this device. I needed a device to browse the internet, do some light office stuff, and occasional typing. While I had access to all the apps I needed and the keyboard was functional, the performance of the device didn't seem to support any form of workflow. It was nice to have a trackpad on the keyboard, but the cursor was laggy and scrolling was inconsistent (tablet mode scrolling fared better). The trackpad presses were not as solid as I would have liked. The keyboard while small, was easy to get used to and typing was no problem. The build quality was okay, a cross between quality and cheap. That may seem odd, but the keyboard side felt cheap as did the connection to the tablet (magnets were good) and the bottom felt solid. Keys were responsive though. I'll note that the keyboard does not lock in place when closed, so it would be prone to flopping open (this seems like a weird oversight). The display is good. Brightness was nice and touches worked well. I was not disappointed with the display. Performance was not all that great. While the processor is not top of the line I expected decent performance, it did not provide a smooth experience. Moving between apps was not horrible but definitely some lag. Websites were responsive but loaded slower than I felt like they should. This 2-in-1 device should be a device for the casual user, but maybe I'm not casual enough. The idea of having a small device to take with you when larger devices are not practical, is great. But at $300 I would expect a bit more. The keyboard feels like maybe a $40 add-on leaving a $260 dollar tablet that does not quite live up to the price tag. The back cover seems more of an essential piece and should have been built in, saving space and bulk. I did not buy the unit for the cameras, as I have an excellent camera on my phone, but the rear camera is awful. I took a photo indoors where I use daylight bulbs and it came out like I was in a dimly lit room. I would have much preferred no rear camera and have the savings go toward performance. I didn't even try the front camera as I didn't expect anything better than the rear one. People have mentioned the 6.5 years (I've also seen it up to 8 years, so not sure) of updates. I didn't consider this when purchasing the Duet, but in 6.5 years this device will be extremely underpowered. Depending on how the updates go the Duet could become even slower and not benefit from any of the updates. If you are looking at this device for children make sure that all the apps your child would need are available for ChromeOS. I had access to all my apps and if I had liked the device, had planned on buying two more. However, I did not like the device and not all the apps my kids would use were available. Overall the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet looks like a great device, but in use it is an overpriced low spec device that barely comes across as a casual user device. Reviewers have given this device passes because of the price and included keyboard. Unfortunately, I can't. After using the device for less than an hour I was completely underwhelmed. For $300 there are better options, although I hope Lenovo does an updated version (with better specs) and fixes the issues with their current model as I liked the form factor and potential.

I'm a big Chromebook fan and was looking for something a bit more portable. The online reviews for this device were all very good and the ChromeOS seems to be written with this tablet form in mind. I've run just about everything I normally do on my HP Chromebook with an I5 processor and 8GB of RAM. It is slower obviously and can't have quite as many chrome tabs open, but I run comfortably with 6 open tabs. Battery life is great. I've run it for about 4 hours at one time reading comics and browsing sites and the battery level was only at 79% when I put it away. I highly recommend the device, especially as a secondary device for travel, but for light use it would be a nice primary device. I've taken it to work and many people have commented on the nice screen and low price. The hard part is trying to get one. They sell out so quick!

I got the Duet from BestBuy as an open-box item 128gb for $200. It's a great little tablet that I use regularly to watch Netflix and create documents in Google apps (Slides, Docs, etc.). For the most part the Duet does what I need it to do. It does get slowed down if you have a few Android apps running, a lot of tabs open in Chrome, or Linux running. I also use the swipe/glide feature on the soft keyboard a lot, and the soft keyboard in ChromeOS sucks. It puts extra spaces in between words, it capitalizes words randomly. I am hoping Google improves the soft keyboard in ChromeOS soon. For $200, this tablet is worth the cost, but I don't think it is worth much more than that.

Pros: + Really nice screen. Bright. Sharp. + 128GB storage. That's a lot for a Chromebook. Not sure what one will need all the space for but it's there if you need it. + Full desktop Chrome browser. This point can't be overstated. You get your favorites buttons and you aren't monkeying with the mobile version on an iPad or Android device. + Keyboard/trackpad feels nice. Not sure why all the complaints about the keys being too small. + EASY removal of the tablet from its "case". Most other tablet cases don't use magnets and you must muscle the tablet out of the case backing. + Nice viewing angle adjustments on the stand. Cons - The ribbon connection. The keyboard slides around a bit when it is closed. It's not just an issue for this tablet though. An extra magnet or closure would have been nice. I have owned the Logitech Combo Touch keyboard for iPad and when it is closed it didn't move. - A little bit heavy for the size with the cover attached. Overall, I like it. Chrome OS is fast. The aspect ratio is better than an iPad for media consumption. Think of it as a small Chromebook that you can use as a tablet pretty easily. I think it comes down to if you plan to split the time between tablet mode and laptop mode, or just want to have something to take on vacation instead of taking a laptop, this is a good buy,
