Customers are saying
Customers commend the Ideapad Gaming 3 for its strong performance, especially in gaming, and its upgradable RAM, making it a good value for the price. However, some users point to shortcomings in battery life and storage capacity as areas for improvement. The screen brightness and potential overheating issues were also noted as concerns by a few customers. While generally considered easy to use, some users suggest considering upgrades to the power supply and storage for optimal performance.

Great and fast laptop, on sale
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great specs, great keyboard, decent display with meh colors, average speakers, but if you get this on sale, the price for performance is unmatched. Battery life is ok when not gaming, when gaming its about an hour. You'll run Dying Light 2 easily with DLSS and even Escape From Tarkov with DLSS. I had to upgrade RAM and storage though.

Lenovo Ideapad Gaming 3 Review
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A decent laptop for your gaming needs but may need more additional storage to save your games that may take more than 50GB of storage. Its graphics card, CPU, and 16GB of RAM make this laptop fast and simple.

Great entry level for everyday use & gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought an open-box for $380 after tax. I have no complaints with the condition, it was the display unit so it was not modified or opened by previous customers which is good. Now on performance, it is great but it can be a little noise when gaming. Battery doesn't last very long without charging, maybe 4 hours doing light browsing. While gaming, I notice the battery depletes a lot faster, it can be 3-2 hours when gaming. I give this a 4 star because the screen is a bit too dark and "blurry" if it is not set at 100% - this is due to low nits, but for this price i guess I can't expect to have higher nits. I upgraded this laptop with a 32GB dual rank RAM and 2TB WD 850x NVMe. Overall, this is a great budget laptop for everyday use and gaming.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great laptop for price once I added 8gb ram to second slot. One star off for not including nvme stand off. Literally can't install 2280 without standoff. Had to fabricate one.

Ideapad gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great budget gaming laptop. Could use some improvements I thought it would be at least 12g ram and little more storage. But again it is a decent buy at the price I got it at on sale.

My son loves it.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While my son loves this laptop it plays the games he likes I do however have some minor gripes about it . The 1st Is the track pad, it is something about it's responsiveness I do not like about it and the 2nd is the battery life. It gets eaten up quickly without the AC adaptor plugged it and I mean it will last maybe 3 hours while gaming on the battery alone. Other than that it's a impressive laptop for med level gaming on PC. Would have glady given 5 stars but the track pad gets my son frustrated sometimes lol.

It’s a decent laptop
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you can find it on sale 550 - 599 then it’s a decent deal but you HAVE to increase the RAM to 16 Gb and the hard drive or SSD to at least 1 terabytes plus you need a mounting screw for the SSD, so you will be spending at least another 125 to 130 in upgrade. As far as the battery goes, yes it will not last long for example when I was playing a game on it it kept asking me to plug in the cable even though it was plugged in! Battery will not charge with the provided adapter unless you stop playing on it. With the fan noise of the laptop you can easily wake up a sleeping person. Keeping all that in mind at 899 it’s not worth it but for 550 or 599 then yes it’s a decent laptop. Lenovo went really cheap on this laptop.

Great product at a great price!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this laptop. It's not paper-thin or ultra-light, and it's not top of the line for gaming purposes, but paper-thin and ultra-light gaming laptops come at a vastly higher price. The games look great on the screen or ported via HDMI to a monitor, it will play just about anything you'd want to play these days, and it's fast enough to handle the workload out of the box. It's also very easy to upgrade, even for a guy like me with zero technical know-how. I watched a quick YouTube video and was able to upgrade to 32GB of Memory and add a 2TB hard drive (in addition to the existing 256GB hard drive). Battery kinda stinks when running anything labor intensive. Bottom line, great product at a great price, would definitely buy if you're looking to play some games at an affordable price.

"Year in Review: Impressive Performance and Upgrad
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After a year of usage, I must say the performance of my computer has been quite impressive. I primarily use it for programming purposes, but I also engage in online gaming with titles like PUBG through Steam, COD, and GTA 5. Additionally, I do a lot of web browsing, usually with 10 to 15 tabs open simultaneously. In terms of battery life, it lasts for approximately 5 hours, but that's not surprising given the heavy workload with numerous applications and frequent YouTube video streaming. To enhance its capabilities, I upgraded the system by adding 8GB of RAM and expanding the storage to 2TB with a new SSD. These improvements have made it a much more robust machine for my needs.

Great for gaming
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Performance is great for gaming out of the box but if you want the most out of it you will need to buy extra ram. 8gb or ram is usable but 16gb is way better so buy a ram kit or another 8gb stick. Will also recommend getting a laptop stand to have the best airflow since having it flat on a desk isn't the greatest. Storage is a bit low but its fast so only upgrade if you need more storage. The worst part of the laptop is the battery life and is to be expected from a gaming laptop so use it plugged in. Using the battery for regular things like homework or video streaming the battery life is ok.

Solid low end gaming laptop
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Almost every game I've played on this has played great without hiccups, AFTER upgrading the ram. Can't play super demanding games on it at high settings, but most games perform just fine! Has a few issues with the screen going black on boot up ( it just seems to be when I move it) just simply takes a restart and it's fine.

Great laptop, poor battery life.
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Battery life is unfortunately not good. The screen doesn't go below 120hz unless you mod a special resolution for 60 with CRU. However the rest of the laptop is sublime. Great keyboard, screen, performance. Make sure to put in some cheap 3200 DDR4 laptop RAM for a performance boost. Cheap on eBay these days.

Review after One Year
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this laptop for about a year now, and it's still running strong. The 3050Ti runs fine with any game, but it's not going to be running modern releases with max graphics. I don't really know how well this runs with the initial parts, but I highly recommend buying another 8GB ram stick and upgrade to 1TB of SSD. Upgrading with this laptop was easier than I expected (and it was my first time)--there's room for another ram stick and a full M.2 + mSATA. Like with any gaming laptop, this thing is loud and hot. Being a gaming laptop, it's not the best when it's not plugged in either. It's battery life makes it difficult to bring outside without constant charge, but it does great otherwise. The display is a little dim, but it's nothing that will be an issue unless taken outside. Overall, it's still a great laptop, especially if you get it when it's one sale!
