Since the only reason I got this laptop specifically was for the displayport, it does not serve its purpose.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that the recipient of your gift of the Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Gaming Laptop had issues with the initial setup and activation of Windows 10/11. The computer should not be turned off or put into sleep mode while the Windows setup process is running. The issue may be fixed by resetting this computer back to original factory settings and beginning the setup and Windows Activation Process again. This system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

USB c will not work for monitor purposes. Do not recommend

Nice specs with one serious flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The specs on this are pretty good. I has a great processor. Graphics card is for light gaming. It does need another stick of ram to bump it up to 16gb. Its a great little setup the only thing I couldnt get past is why a 250 nit screen. I understand at this price point you are not going to get 100% srgb or anything but in this day and age at least use a 300 nit screen. The 250 is way to dim in my opinion. This would have otherwise been a great mid level laptop.

Disappointing. Questionable build quality.

However, my excitement turned into disappointment once I used the laptop for a few days. The build quality is questionable. The bottom side of the laptop produces a weird clicking noise anytime I pickup the laptop or place it on a non-flat surface such as my lap. It sounds like there are either some loose parts inside the laptop or something faulty in the hardware, as I have never heard anything like this in over 15 years of using laptops. I feel very uncomfortable as I suspect the laptop may fail on me after the 15-day return window finishes. It's quite a hassle now to return the laptop, as not only do I have to drive over 30 minutes to my nearest BestBuy store, but the time I spent customizing this laptop and installing all my software goes to waste now. Frustrated, annoyed, and disappointed.
