Good Laptop, No Ethernet Port

REALLY POOR SETUP. If you don't have a mouse almost impossible to navigate as the Idea Pad is VERY POOR in that it gives you so many menus for simple navigation. AND THE FUNCTION KEYS ARE SPECIAL and not helpful. For example, F7 is no longer spell check. The only good thing is the backlit keyboard and lots of storage. However, beware because I found out the hard way that the backlit function can be turned OFF. WHY WOULD YOU WANT IT TURNED OFF? TOO MANY PECULIAR OPTIONS LIKE THAT.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S340-15 Laptop, model number 81QG000DUS. This model does have a backlit keyboard. Just hold down the Fn key and while holding the Fn Key down, tap the Spacebar. Once to turn on backlighting, twice to increase the backlighting brightness and three times to turn off of the backlighting. You may want to turn off the keyboard backlighting when you are in a brightly lit room and on battery power. Backlighting, will speed up battery drain.

Wish I had had the numbers on the right side of the screen before. I have to train myself to use them.

I have had issues where my computer would crash when connected to certain wifi connection. Not sure what would be the cause of this. But it doesn't crash on my home network or if I hotspot through my phone.

If possible check the frequency of the WiFi signal being broadcast by the router you are having difficultly connecting to. If it is the newest 6G, 802.11AX version, although this frequency is supposed to be backward compatible to 802.11AC WiFi, there may be some incompatibility with the router's signal. This is a router-side issue and not something caused by your computer.

It has S mode, which was comforting to know, but I had to switch out of it in order to use the computer for work related things. I didn’t really like that you couldn’t switch back into it. Otherwise, it’s been a great laptop.

Wish I would of had them make it Windows 10 and not Windows S. When you go to install any app ( ie Chrome you have to remove the S and install again )

Microsoft Edge is tough to adjust to, I prefer my google chrome. Laptop overall is good but it’s big and heavy; not ideal for the travel I do. I would prefer something thinner and lighter.

Everything But The Charger

It constantly falls out of wall outlets. It's always in the way of other plugs that I need. Lenovo needs to break away from using bulky chargers.

OK Product, Not Great Experience

It didn't work with the docking station I bought for it so I had to return. The online help trying to resolve the issue was a nightmare. The in store return was quite easy.
