    Lots of glitches

    I’m not sure if we received a glitched computer but brand new outdoor the box it has lots of “quirks”. When trying to type it moves lines. When trying to click on things the mouse jolts across the screen. If I had a do over I’d go with different brand.

To try to remedy this, first, please look for any applicable updates in the “About ChromeOS” tab in system settings. After applying these updates, should your issue persist, we recommend trying to complete a powerwash or factory reset to see if this resolves the issue.     Not as good as HP - freezes often.

    I bought this a month ago after my HP Chromebook got the "black screen of death" after 4 years. Not happy with the purchase. I usually have about 6 tabs open, and if I open a recipe for example that has graphics in it, it freezes the other tabs. Not a good value.

    I loved the overall idea of this model yet felt as if it was just a large android without the phone. I returned it for a Windows model and was much more pleased.

    I just purchased 3 weeks ago! Freezes constantly and I have to reboot! Glad I have warranty!

    Bought in June. Now less than three months later the camera is not functioning correctly. Seems to be an internal hardware issue. It’s blocked out over three quarters of the screen and blurry the remainder. Have checked every possible solution. To no avail. Waste of money!

To try to resolve this, first, be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate. There is a small slider, directly above the webcam lens. Move the tab to the right to open the Privacy Shutter. There is a red dot over the webcam lens that will disappear when the Privacy Shutter is fully open. This will indicate that the webcam is really to use. You can close the Privacy Shutter when you are done with the webcam for your security, by sliding the tab to the left to close the Privacy Shutter. The Red Dot will appear over the webcam lens when the Privacy Shutter is closed. If your camera is still not functional, we then recommend that you reach out to Lenovo Support here: 877-453-6686, for further assistance. Lenovo

    Intermittent problem with wifi

    I tried 2 of these chormebooks and both have the same problem. They occasionally lose sight of all available wifi networks. The only way to get them back is to reboot.

    Couldn't stay connected to internet.

    Had issues with this and returned it after a couple of days. It kept losing internet connection. Day one, no problem. Day two I spent an hour with my internet provider trying to fix problem (because of course assumed the issue was with them), then was given Lenovo's number and sat on the phone with their tech for 30 minutes before getting problem resolved. Next day, once again couldn't connect to home internet without a lot of work, so decided to return it. Maybe it was just a defective laptop, but next brand I bought hasn't given me a single problem.

    This thing sucks. Made the mistake of buying a chromebook. I hate it. I think it sucks. Everything is internet based and its microsoft program - copilot is garbage.

    Bad Charging Port

    This was a great little Chromebook. But once the warranty period expired, the USB-C charging port started acting up. I would have to position the cable connector just right before it would charge. It got progressively worse over time. After a few more months, it stopped charging. By wiggling the connector, I could get the charging light to come on briefly. But now nothing. Based on my research, this is a common issue with Lenovo laptops.

    In the 6 months I’ve owned this laptop I’ve had problem after problem. I’ve had it in multiple times for warranty work. Most recently they replaced the motherboard, touchpad and USB ports. STILL DIDN’T FIX IT. Imagine my surprise after it was sent out of state for nearly two weeks and the number keys still don’t work which was my #1 issue when I took it in. Beyond disappointed. I’ll never own this brand again. Buy something else and save yourself the trouble.

      To start and clarify, this IdeaPad Slim 3 Chromebook does come with an HD camera with a Privacy Shutter. Out-of-the-box you may find a graphic covering the camera area, but with this removed, you should be able to us your camera and the privacy shutter.

      If the graphic is removed but you are still having trouble with your camera, please attempt to do a hardware reset. To learn how to do so, please visit the following link to a Google Support webpage with details: https://support.google.com/chromebook/answer/3227606?hl=en&sjid=11168473644130281663-NA, which the process will reboot the embedded controller that manages various system components, including the camera.

      With the privacy shutter, please be sure the Privacy Shutter is completely open before trying to use the webcam or the webcam will not operate.
