Not Compatible With Many Peripherals
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This computer is plenty fast and quiet, however there is a glaring drawback that did not become apparent until after I purchased it. Since it has an ARM based processor, there are many peripherals that do not have compatible drivers, especially printers. I have 2 Brother printers, one of which would work in a limited capacity, the other would not even be recognized by Windows as a printer. There is no workaround for it and Brother has no plans to produce drivers for ARM based systems. This was a deal breaker for me and I had to return this laptop. I wish that Lenovo had been up-front with this information, instead of making me scour the internet for a solution that did not exist.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available driver updates through Windows Update Settings. These updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect power regulation, leading to improved battery life. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, and finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.
Secondly, the IdeaPad Slim 3x allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Vantage app, select the "Device Settings" tab from the left-hand side of the display, scroll down to "Power modes," and select the best mode based on your needs. We suggest using Adaptive Power mode, which will prioritize performance when needed. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

My Lenovo laptop
