Lots of graphic card issues and ran very hot

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After I initially setup the computer, I kept having multiple issues with the graphics cards. The laptop would freeze for 20-30 seconds and become unresponsive when it was switching between the iGPU and the dGPU. It also kept flashing a red GSync error. I took it to Geek Squad, but their suggestion was to turn off GSync. Unhappy with this solution (why would I turn off a feature of the computer that's supposed to work to avoid issues), I reset the computer and started over. Although the reset cleared the issues I was experiencing with the graphics cards, the laptop ran quite hot into temp ranges that are not safe when gaming. The display is also quite good, as long as you don't use HDR. Using HDR had a terrible effect on the picture, it was over saturated and very dark. I think the keyboard and trackpad are the best I have used on a Windows laptop.

To start, this seems to be tied to software issues, including the display and system performance. To resolve this, first we recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, apply all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.
Should the issues persist after these steps, we then recommend contacting Lenovo Support at this number: 877-453-6686, to work with the Customer Care team for swift action as we look to resolve this matter for you and make things right.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect the device’s power. To check for updates within Lenovo Vantage begin by launching the application, then select the “Check for updates” button on the top of the right-hand of the display. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.
The Legion 7i comes with the ability to adjust the active performance profile based off of your needs, allowing you prioritize a quieter cooler laptop when needed. To start launch Legion Space, then under the CPU and GPU gauges you can select between the different thermal modes. We recommend Quiet mode which will lower temperatures, reduce fan noise, and extend battery. You can also toggle this easily by hitting the Fn+Q hotkey.

Too much bloatware.

Stopped working after 9 months

This is a $2400 premium gaming laptop, so I expected solid reliability. Instead, the device suddenly stopped working after a short period of not being used. It briefly shows the Lenovo logo and then shuts off, and now it won’t power on at all, even after being plugged in for hours. What makes this worse is the lack of support. I reached out to Lenovo support and received no meaningful help — essentially being ignored. For a product in this price range, that level of customer service is unacceptable. I originally chose this laptop based on a Best Buy consultant’s recommendation, expecting a high-end, dependable machine. Instead, I’m left with an expensive device that doesn’t work and no clear path to resolution. At this price point, reliability and support should be guaranteed. Unfortunately, neither has been the case here. I would strongly advise others to think twice before purchasing this model.
