Great for work, and leisure. The OLED is beautiful. Battery life is about 4 hrs when running games, but much longer when doing other work.

I initially experienced some freezing issues, likely due to outdated drivers, but after updating them, the freezing has reduced to only once or twice. Overall, it meets my expectations as a research scientist, although I am still keeping an eye on it to see if the issue comes back

Battery life has been great. No lag on startup or shut down. Great investment as daily work laptop to gaming and tuning.

The battery could last a little longer, but other than that, I recommend it. The only thing, though, is that BestBuy didn't send Nvidia's redeem code to receive the game Resident Evil free, something I am still waiting from BestBuy .

Really good but may need manufacturer tweaks

Compared to my last laptop (1060) it’s an amazing improvement but the graphics card had issues that required me to replace it within 60 days. Replacement also starting to experience some issues with ports recognizing USB devices. Reddit threads show similar issues with other users. Feels like there may be too much power for what it can push. Battery gets super hot. Considering exchanging again for a desktop.

Our goal is to offer the best user experience, and we are disappointed we missed the mark. We would like to work with you to help address some of your concerns.
Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect the device’s power output and USB compatibility. To check for updates within Lenovo Vantage begin by launching the application, then select the “Check for updates” button on the top of the right-hand of the display. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.
Secondly, the Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion 7i when under load. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

The cooling system is great , doesn’t get loud or unreasonably hot. The good thing about these is that the fans are on the back unlike Alienware that has them on the top. They get full of dirt and overheat quickly

While the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070Ti would offer an increase in performance, it also would come at a cost. The Legion 7i is designed with a slim profile and an HX CPU, when choosing a higher end GPU, the 5070 will cool more efficiently while also offering user great value and performance.

Firstly, we recommend using NVIDIA Studio Drivers instead of Game Ready Drivers when using your Legion 7i for your architectural software. These Studio drivers are specifically designed for creative and professional workflows which enhance performance when using applications like 3D and 2D rendering software. You can change this easily by opening the preinstalled NVIDIA Experience app, then choose the drivers tab located at the top of the display, next select the menu represented by the three vertical dots located in the top right corner of the program, finally simply choose which drivers to use based on your workflow.
Secondly, the Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Legion Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Performance mode which will increase speed even when using the heaviest of workloads. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.
