The Legion 7i, especially its latest 2025 iteration (Gen 10), ships with cutting-edge specs like the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor paired with NVIDIA RTX 50-series GPUs—up to the RTX 5080—delivering jaw-dropping performance. In benchmarks, it leads the pack. Gaming and visuals come alive on its 16-inch, 240 Hz OLED WQXGA panel—vibrant, color-accurate, and silky-smooth. The Legion 7i combines a sleek, modern aesthetic with smart ergonomics. It garners praise for its clean design and abundant ports—including Thunderbolt 4, USB-C/A, HDMI 2.1, and RJ-45—ideal for gaming setups and creative workflows alike. Thanks to its advanced cooling system, the CPU can consistently operate at ~150–170 W, even when under load, with temperatures around 85–90 °C and fan noise between 45–46 dBA—impressive for such power. The Legion 7i’s SteelSeries-based keyboard delivers excellent tactile feedback, quiet typing, and unique features like force-sensing WASD keys and customizable keycaps—ideal for precision gaming. Minor Trade-Offs • Pricey & Heavy: The best-in-class hardware comes at a cost, both financially (starting around $2,849) and in portability (nearly 6 lb) • Battery Life: Like most powerful gaming laptops, it has below-average battery endurance—not ideal for extended unplugged use. • Thermal Sensitivity: To get peak sustained performance, it's best placed on a stand to improve airflow—the cooling design is very capable, but flat desk usage might push thermal limits.

I use it primarily for flight simulation (X-Plane / MSFS) and this config is up to the task; the only drawback is that 8GB of VRAM on the 5070 is not enough for really rich textures / high performance settings. Lenovo Legion power mode software allows you to dial back everything so that you can actually get 2-4 hours of work done in a cafe/on a plane. The OLED display is razor sharp and almost painfully bright. I almost never see crashes from my sims or any other daily applications; this chipset seems to be a reference standard for reliability. I tried the ASUS AMD Ryzen setup and it constantly crashed out on my flight sims, so that little beauty had to go, sadly.

I couldn’t be happier with my new Lenovo Legion 7i 16” OLED Gaming Laptop! From the moment I turned it on, the speed and clarity blew me away. The Intel Core Ultra 9 and RTX 5070 handle everything I throw at it — from AutoCAD and design software to gaming and video editing — all without breaking a sweat. The OLED display is absolutely stunning; colors pop with incredible depth and the 2.5K resolution makes every detail shine. The build quality feels premium, the RGB keyboard is smooth and responsive, and even under heavy use, it stays surprisingly cool and quiet. This laptop has completely elevated my productivity and creativity — it’s perfect for design students, professionals, and gamers alike. If you’re looking for top-tier performance in a beautiful, lightweight package, this is the one. Highly recommend it — worth every penny! — Jana Spurloc

I’ve been using this laptop for a few weeks and it’s awesome. Everything runs smoothly, from games to everyday tasks. The OLED screen is beautiful — colors really pop and everything looks sharp. It gets a bit warm and the fans can be loud under heavy load, but that’s expected. Battery is okay, but overall it’s a solid, powerful laptop that I’d definitely recommend.

I use the Lenovo Legion 7i mainly for Premiere Pro, and it’s excellent. Fast, smooth, and the display makes editing easy. The downside is the battery life—it doesn’t last long off the charger—and it tends to run warm even with light use. Still, for creative work, it’s powerful and reliable.

      Hi LeslieB,

Thanks for choosing Lenovo and for sharing your feedback with us!

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

Also, if you're using the system for light use and find it running warmer, even with sufficient air exchange to aid in cooling, we recommend pressing Fn + Q again to switch to a lower power mode which will reduce heat production.

We are pleased to read that this Legion 7i is otherwise working excellently for you.

Please feel free to reach out to us via the Q& A section of this product page should you have any questions or need assistance.

This Laptop is good overall. I’m giving it a 4-star rating because the speakers are not as clear and loud as its competitors. The battery also runs down too fast. The screen is great! Keyboard is also great, you can customize the backlight colors any way you want. It’s fast.

Got one refurbished-excellent on sale for $1380 before tax. You pay for the build quality, and it’s worth the price. It’s clean and professional, without any gaming aesthetic. The display blew me and my girlfriend away even compared to other OLED laptop screens; she’s (jokingly) jealous of how good this thing is and she by no means skimped out on her own gaming laptop. I’m impressed by how powerful the 275HX CPU is as well, though it’s a little too powerful for the chassis. It’s somehow got more computing power than my desktop 13700k at half the wattage; intel arrow lake isn’t impressive as a desktop chip but it’s a big improvement for laptop chips. My legion 7 will thermal throttle well before the cpu is fully utilized; consider undervolting and frequency limiting or setting a custom fan curve since it’s got cpu horsepower to spare. The GPU is the weakest point of this laptop; everyone complains the 5070 with 8gb vram is insufficient and it really does struggle with 1440p gaming. There’s no getting around it; go for something with a 5070 ti or greater if graphics-heavy gaming is important. Or, like, use a desktop instead. I sure like how it looks though, and I think its aesthetics and build quality make up for its shortcomings in graphics, thermals and battery life compared to other laptops at a similar price. At any sale price at $1700 or below I think this thing warrants consideration for anyone who doesn’t use a laptop solely for gaming. Or who does and doesn’t want to look like they do.

Straight out of the box, this laptop has everything you need to enjoy media, gaming, and an office or work tasks you may have. It is extremely user friendly and as someone who used to only have apple products, this was a no brain switch for me. I can tackle any task i need with ease using my Lenovo Legion, its been powerful enough to run games beautifully, and withstand anything else ive thrown at it. I use it daily and have been so pleased with my purchase. I will absolutely recommend this laptop to anyone. I know that it will serve me for a great many years. My only wosh is that the batter could last longer off charge, but it does give me a good 1-2 hours based off of what im asking it to do for me.

Grabbed this during BestBuys winter sale. I’ve been a huge Apple user in the past but swapped to this guy. From a long time Apple user, this thing feels premium and the display matches that of my other MacBooks. Has plenty of ports, a decent battery life, and runs my 49” ultrawide monitor flawlessly. Lenovo really did well with this laptop. I primarily use this laptop for educational purposes with weekends spent gaming with the boys. Runs titles like Battlefield 6 with no issue or over heating. I do recommend grabbing a cooler tho to keep temps down and extend the life out of the laptop.

      Hi Cole-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the performance, port availability, and product design of the Legion 7i. We aim to offer great user experience and would love to recommend a few actions that you can take to improve battery life and thermals.

The Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s active thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion 7i when under load. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

We also recommend ensuring the bottom of your Legion 7i has adequate space to allow the Legion's Coldfront thermal design to properly circulate allowing for better temperatures even when under load.

Please reach out to us through the Q & A section of this product page if you have any questions or need any assistance.

I love my new laptop and it is very sleek! I am capable of running up to 3 downloads while playing a video game which still gets it all done in 40 minutes or less. Playing any video/movie/show on this laptop is beautiful with the resolution and quality options making it effortless. I will say the battery life is disappointing which is why I did 4 stars but they do offer energy saving options but it extends it by maybe an hour or two unfortunately.

      Hi MaiaStanley-

Thank you for choosing Lenovo and sharing your experience with us. We are happy to hear that you are enjoying the display quality, build quality, and performance of the Legion 7i. We aim to offer great user experience, and we would like to make a few suggestions to improve your battery life.

We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the battery consumption leading to longer battery life. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

The Legion 7i includes the option of controlling the “GPU Working Mode”. You can find this within Legion Space, just below the Thermal Profile modes from the previous step. This allows your device to switch between the integrated GPU and discrete GPU. By switching modes, you can enhance battery life through the Hybrid-iGPU Only Mode which will lower the power draw of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card or enhance performance with dGPU Mode which will enhance display performance.

I love this laptop. It's got a nice keyboard and, best of all, it's expandable. I've upgraded the M.2 space to 3.2TB! The power usage is a bit high so I pretty much need to use it plugged in. But I can set it to a low power mode that only uses the built in GPU of the Intel chip. The OLED screen is very nice. I love the way it runs my favorite games due to the NVIDIA 5070. I told you it needs power right? I was worried about the white case, but it doesn't seem to get dirty. It's also got embedded silver to keep it safer from microbes.

I purchase a laptop had to returned it because it just didnt work and saw this one everything came updated, just had to download nvidia panel, everything runs perfect on 2640x1600 i believe thats the correct resolution. (Howards lwgacyhigh setting 70fps connected) bout 30 disconnected, (battlefield 6 100fps high setting) (ark raiders 70fps high setting) all those are avaraged plugging it in to a tv worked wonder just had to play with the resolutions a bit but it was perfect. Definitely recommend this laptop but for the place you could build a decent pc for 1800. Battery life was about 3-4 hours disconnected less if youre playing games and oled screen its just the best.
