First, it shipped with Windows 11 2024 instead of the 2025 version. Second, the Lenovo “Legion Station” app has a bug that forces the keyboard lighting and dark mode back to default every time I restart, ignoring my saved settings. I contacted both Best Buy and Lenovo; the only ‘solution’ they offered was to return the laptop. Uninstalling the app stopped the resets, but now I can’t customize the keyboard lighting or use certain performance/shortcut modes the software enables. It’s frustrating to have to accept this kind of limitation on a laptop that costs over two thousand dollars.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

The laptop would freeze for 20-30 seconds and become unresponsive when it was switching between the iGPU and the dGPU. It also kept flashing a red GSync error. I took it to Geek Squad, but their suggestion was to turn off GSync. Unhappy with this solution (why would I turn off a feature of the computer that's supposed to work to avoid issues), I reset the computer and started over. Although the reset cleared the issues I was experiencing with the graphics cards, the laptop ran quite hot into temp ranges that are not safe when gaming. The display is also quite good, as long as you don't use HDR. Using HDR had a terrible effect on the picture, it was over saturated and very dark. I think the keyboard and trackpad are the best I have used on a Windows laptop.

For one there is no Ethernet and every time I turned the laptop on it said it was connected to Ethernet and I had to turn the laptop off and back on, because my laptop thought it was connected. Two I had a lot of freezing during games. I took it back and went with msi, which I happy very happy with.

Great for now. Won't last for games
