To start, we believe this could be resolve with software changes. We recommend ensuring you have the latest software by checking for updates, as this could correct the issue. To do so, first, open the Settings app > Select the Windows update tab > Select the Check for updates button, apply all available updates. Next, open the Lenovo Vantage app > on the homepage, select the Check for updates button, following on-screen prompts to apply all available updates here as well.

Performance-wise, it’s an absolute powerhouse — the NVIDIA RTX graphics combined with the latest processor handle gaming, streaming, and multitasking with ease. The display is crisp and vibrant, and the refresh rate makes everything feel smooth and responsive. One of my favorite features is the RGB keyboard, which not only looks great but also feels very comfortable to type on during long sessions. Cooling is efficient, so the laptop stays surprisingly quiet even under heavy loads. Overall, this is one of the best laptops I’ve owned — perfect for gaming, content creation, and productivity. Best Buy’s ordering and pickup process was smooth and hassle-free, too. Highly recommend this machine to anyone looking for power and style in one package.

You pay for the build quality, and it’s worth the price. It’s clean and professional, without any gaming aesthetic. The display blew me and my girlfriend away even compared to other OLED laptop screens; she’s (jokingly) jealous of how good this thing is and she by no means skimped out on her own gaming laptop. I’m impressed by how powerful the 275HX CPU is as well, though it’s a little too powerful for the chassis. It’s somehow got more computing power than my desktop 13700k at half the wattage; intel arrow lake isn’t impressive as a desktop chip but it’s a big improvement for laptop chips. My legion 7 will thermal throttle well before the cpu is fully utilized; consider undervolting and frequency limiting or setting a custom fan curve since it’s got cpu horsepower to spare. The GPU is the weakest point of this laptop; everyone complains the 5070 with 8gb vram is insufficient and it really does struggle with 1440p gaming. There’s no getting around it; go for something with a 5070 ti or greater if graphics-heavy gaming is important. Or, like, use a desktop instead. I sure like how it looks though, and I think its aesthetics and build quality make up for its shortcomings in graphics, thermals and battery life compared to other laptops at a similar price. At any sale price at $1700 or below I think this thing warrants consideration for anyone who doesn’t use a laptop solely for gaming. Or who does and doesn’t want to look like they do.

I bought it to play my Steam and Epic games and im happy i got it. It plays smooth and ots not loud. Battery is is not that good though .

Others say the QC issues have affected them but I haven’t experienced any issues with my hardware. OLED screen looks amazing, battery life depends on what you’re doing but is generally great. I am very impressed at the performance of this laptop. Design and the Screen are amazing, so crisp! I also have a 5090/Ryzen 9 Desktop... was surprised how numerous games performed on a 5070 laptop GPU.

Fast, smooth, and the display makes editing easy. The downside is the battery life—it doesn’t last long off the charger—and it tends to run warm even with light use. Still, for creative work, it’s powerful and reliable.

Regarding your issue with battery – as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.
Also, if you're using the system for light use and find it running warmer, even with sufficient air exchange to aid in cooling, we recommend pressing Fn + Q again to switch to a lower power mode which will reduce heat production.

Firstly, we recommend running and installing all available drivers updates through Lenovo Vantage and Windows Update Settings, these updates are crucial to the device’s health and will affect the device’s power output leading to enhanced battery life. To check for updates within Lenovo Vantage begin by launching the application, then select the “Check for updates” button on the top of the right-hand of the display. To check for Windows Updates, start by launching the Settings app, then selecting the Windows Update tab on the left-hand side of the page, finally select the “Check for updates’ button located in the top right of the page.
Secondly, the Legion 7i allows you to change the computer’s thermal mode. This will allow your device to cycle between higher performance, quiet, or automatically adjust based on your needs. To start, launch the Lenovo Space app, Under the CPU and GPU Performance gauges you will find the option to toggle performance profiles. We suggest using Quiet mode which will lower the temperature of your Legion 7i when under load and reduce power consumption. You can also toggle thermal modes simply with the Fn+Q hotkey.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchase a laptop had to returned it because it just didnt work and saw this one everything came updated, just had to download nvidia panel, everything runs perfect on 2640x1600 i believe thats the correct resolution. (Howards lwgacyhigh setting 70fps connected) bout 30 disconnected, (battlefield 6 100fps high setting) (ark raiders 70fps high setting) all those are avaraged plugging it in to a tv worked wonder just had to play with the resolutions a bit but it was perfect. Definitely recommend this laptop but for the place you could build a decent pc for 1800. Battery life was about 3-4 hours disconnected less if youre playing games and oled screen its just the best.
