But I’ve noticed 2 issues. 1) fan kicks on way to easily and is very loud but that’s not that much of a problem. 2) the battery drains very quick if you try to do anything slightly complex

Regarding the fan noise and battery use, this can be optimized with system settings. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

I ordered online for in store pickup. The person on the phone assured me it was in stock and pulled/ready for pickup. When I arrived, they had pulled the wrong laptop and couldn't tell me if they had the right one in stock or not (had confirmed over the phone the previous night they had two in stock). The woman who was working the counter was wonderful...in fact extremely good at customer service. The manager she called to help resolve the problem was rude, condescending and didn't want to own the issue. His exact words "This is what happens when you order online. The online salespeople will tell you whatever you want to hear", and he stomped off abruptly. I'm sorry, but that is a Best Buy problem, not a "ME" problem. Lashing out at your customers rather than fixing your broken process is the opposite of what you should be doing. I'm empathetic...maybe just a bad day or going through some difficult "life stuff". But it doesn't help the bad feeling I was left with.
