An inherent behavior with high-powered systems like the Legion Pro 5i gaming laptops are that their battery life can be shorter compared to lower powered systems, and with this, they need larger, higher wattage power adapter to supply sufficient charge to the battery while under load. We have noted these points, as we will continue to try to improve our systems where necessary. Depending on what games you're trying to play, the dedicated GPU isn't required, you could use the integrated GPU to reduce power draw and use a USB-C power adapter to charge the system, including on planes.

The Oled display makes everything look crisp and it can run games like Fortnite over 240 FPS. Overall a great laptop and highly recommend it for people who want a powerful gaming laptop.

Before I purchased it, I went on ChatGPT to see what kind of games I could run, I asked it.. "Can I run Red Dead Redemption 2 with ultra graphics?" It said.. Probably not, but you can still run it at very high settings. Hah! It was wrong, it runs like butter :)

Best laptop ever!

Does everything I need from work to gaming. I was surprised at battery life compared to my previous laptop, although I don’t game on it much but with the amount of gaming I do and all my programs and the work I need to do, this laptop is smooth like butter.

I bought a Lenovo thinkpad hybrid dock and I run a Samsung 49” monitor and it runs great. I also added the WD Black 1TB extra SSD drive to it. 100% recommend.

Regarding battery life, as you may know there are lots of variables that contribute to battery and in gaming laptops that can increase even more due to their high-powered processors and graphics cards. If you want to squeeze out more battery life and are completing non-intensive graphics tasks, you can utilize the MUX switch built into this model to turn off the dedicated GPU to greatly decrease power draw. This can be done in the Lenovo Vantage app > top right box > GPU working mode, then choosing your preferred method. Users can also take advantage of the keyboard shortcut, Fn + Q to toggle thermal modes and easily switch between prioritizing battery life or power, or even the best of both words, along with custom settings configurable in Lenovo Vantage. You could also press the Fn + R key combo to toggle to a lower refresh rate for even greater power conservation.

Preinstalled bloatware, less one star.

Gaming performance is phenomenal. It's a quick and speedy laptop. However, it comes with a lot of bloatware and proprietary software that may cause weird glitches. For example, I installed new Intel graphics drivers from the Intel site. That made my external monitor constantly flicker in and out, repeatedly. The only fix was to downgrade the Intel drivers and only use Lenovo Vantage drivers for Intel graphics drivers from here on out. On the other hand, I have had no issues with Nvidia drivers being installed from the Nvidia app.
