Loved it but keyboard design renders it unusable

Everyone who is a touch typist knows that CTL+Home takes you to the top left of the page. And CTL+LftArr takes you to the beginning of the line. Well, some genius at Lenovo figured it would be a great idea to move the Home Key from its normal association with numeric-7 and instead associate it with ... are you ready for this? The freaking left-arrow key. So now when you press CTL+LftArw what is the machine supposed to do? Treat it as CTL+Home and take you to the top of the page ... or treat it as CTL+LftArw and take you to the beginning of the line? And of course the END key has moved from numeric-1 to the right-arrow with the same disastrous result. Their solution? Their no longer is a CTL+Home or CTL+End... instead you also have tp press the FN key, making it a 3 button command (and SFT+CTL+Home to select text from the cursor to the top of the document now becomes FN+SFT+CTL+Home). It is literally unusable for any touch typist. And the most infuriating thing is... there was zero reason to change the historic 30 year associations with numeric7 and numeric1 ... they added zero functionality and in the process rendered the machine unusable for touch typists. I otherwise loved the computer. I waited for 3 days for its arrival and was completely bummed when I had no choice but to return it 12 hours later.

Posted .You access the Home and End functions on the Lenovo Legion Y540-17 Gaming Laptop with the key combination of Fn plus the left arrow key for the Home function. You can access the End function with the Fn plus the right arrow key.

The graphics are amazing for all of the games I have played on it. I did purchase a fan for it just in case, to prolong the life of the laptop.

We were given one option to try and it did not work. We have written back and are awaiting further instructions. A hassle we hope can be resolved soon. We love the speed and capability of this computer. Bought it mainly to do video editing and that part is working really well.

Beginner Gaming Laptop

It plays all her steam dinosaur games. It does have a webcam and she uses it for school. I have no complaints. I would recommend.

It does not stay charged very long, I consider 4 hours as a very short time and to be truthful I am not very happy about it! Everything else seems to be just fine. Good quality picture and I am learning Windows 10!
