I work all day on a computer so when I get home at night I prefer to play on my iPad so I really did not want to spend a lot for a new laptop. This was low priced had up to date operating system and is a great little work computer and it’s light and stays cool while using it. That battery lasts hours on a charge. I can’t complain a bit. I would do it all over again. If I am going to spend 400.00 .org more I want it to be for an ipad so under 300 for this was perfect

Excel and Word are even a challenge for this clunky thing. You can do most basic tasks as long as you’re not in a hurry and don’t mind a little lag every time you click or type anything. For a super cheap laptop I guess it will do. Glad it cost less than $200. It does an somewhat ok job.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15. This system should no lag when using Excel or Word. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Had it for about 3 weeks and it's made me "hard restart" twice already. One time was when I opened the laptop and you can see the light indicator that it's on, but the screen stayed black. We're literally only using it so my child can do schoolwork.

I will advise people that it really wants you to keep your computer in "S" mode which would not allow you to download certain programs (most programs) that are not verified safe by windows. It even gives you the heads up message when trying to install Webroot security which is sold at Best Buy. That minor detail aside, I have no complaints.

The right side numerical keypad makes the laptop full size. Great storage space, nice screen. I didn’t pay attention to some of the finer details. But well working machine. Just the keyboard is sensitive and the keys are pretty slim.

Slow and Lenovo Vantage affects performance

Not very fast, but can get the job done most of the time. Computer comes pre-loaded with lots of useless program, including Lenovo Vantage to supposedly "help" in the computer settings. Without your request and without notification, this software randomly puts the camera on privacy mode. Not convenient when you are in class and suddenly the camera stops. Since the computer is slow, it takes 5 to 10 mn to re-enable it...and this every 2 days without notice. Today Lenovo Vantage tries to update automatically w/o success. Result; no class this morning. Going to bestbuy now. Screen is ok, but sound is very week, even at full volume, making difficult to hear the class. Bottom line, ok for very simple tasks, like emails / word doc. Don't ask for more.

I've owned a half-dozen laptops before, but none driven by an AMD processor. I'm happily surprised by its speed with all the tools installed - the Microsoft 365 Suite. I even installed Adobe graphics programs including Photoshop and Illustrator, all of which run well. The large hard drive is a great bonus too. This isn't a high-end gaming or graphics machine, but for the price, more than capable as a solid work machine. I'm not a huge fan of the touchpad, so I bought a wireless mouse. Perfect combo!
