    Started Great…

Started off great, but then became really slow. All I ever did was browse internet, stream shows, and movies. The system became really slow and have to start Netflix two times to watch… if it plays at all. Now it will not upgrade because it’s outdated I guess. I just know for a computer only owned for a year and with no downloads it shouldn’t be this slow and now it’s pretty useless for me. I am now paranoid on my next computer purchase. I would recommend to someone who needs a cheap computer and has patience like my sister.

    Waste of Money

We had high hopes for this computer because we needed it during Covid. It ended up being a waste of money. It was so slow from the start, even with nothing on it. We rarely use it and are looking for something else now. If we hadn't spent hundreds of dollars on it, I would've taken it outside and gone rage room on it by now. My Lenovo from 2005 would've been better than this one.

the machine comes with windows but you'll be waiting for long periods to get anything done due to the 4Gb of memory and windows. (4Gb of memory is best served for Chromebooks and Linux systems). The keyboard is fantastic and typing on it is the same. The power chord is very short so be close to an outlet. I loaded MANJARO Linux distribution on this machine alongside windows and performance using Linux on it is much better. Because this machine comes with 1Tb storage you'll have plenty of room for both Operating systems.

The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, is a mid-level, moderate use configuration, with its AMD A6-9225 processor. This Dual-Core processor has a base speed of 2.6GHz and a boost speed of up to 3.0GHz. This configuration has 4GB of RAM. It is good with Microsoft Office type programs, internet browsing and other moderate work. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. I got the s145-ast. Slapped a 500gb Samsung 860 Evo SSD and 8gb 2400mhz ram stick in it. And the outcome is pretty good I like it. The laptop does have an nvme slot but I don't know how much space it can handle. The hardware manual isn't very specific and is confusing. Good laptop

    Legitimate Garbage

Ok so first off, 90% of the system memory is taken up by its own operating system. This computer is so trash, it’s worse than a chrome book, and those are already pretty bad. This computer can’t load anything if it wanted to, and even if you don’t have anything installed on it that isn’t necessary for it to run, it can’t update because it has no storage. Even if I sit next to my router, this computer is trash and barely functions. And I know it’s not my WiFi being the issue, because even on any WiFi network this computer sucks and doesn’t work. Just don’t buy cheap tec I guess. What a waste of freaking money. Thing can’t even load 90% of web pages properly. Microsoft really screwed themselves over on this one. Don’t even buy this if your getting a laptop for a kid, get a chrome book instead, even though it’s still a pretty bad computer, it at least functions better than this piece of crap. I want to find the idiot who designed the thing and literally yell at him until he gives an explanation for this trash bag of a computer. Oh and another thing, if you somehow get this trash to work, download chrome and use it as your primary browser, the two built in browsers Microsoft has in here are equally as bad as the computer itself.

If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. I called support as they advised they had a 1 year warranty, I waited on hold and then they transferred me to app support after doing diagnostics online. They preprogram apps that make this computer slow for excel, Microsoft word or even emails I had an HP Netbook and it was 4 times faster. They wanted to charge 69.00 to help me, not worth it. So much is preloaded and makes it too slow.

I purchased this laptop for 225.00 (on sale) to get me bye until I can get all the parts to rebuild my desktop. It's a bare bone laptop, do e-mails, surf web and that's about it, does not play games well at all and can sometimes have a bit of lagg. But, it's better then using a smart phone. I would recommend this laptop if you're looking for to get you bye until you get something better.

So I bought this machine in store after my other laptop quit working on me. So far it has been a great purchase and I would highly recommend it to other people who are going to be doing moderate coding or even just doing some school work. I really enjoy the fact that for the price I was able to get a 1TB HDD in the laptop. So far this laptop has met and exceeded my expectations. If all you need a computer for is checking email and writing word documents I would highly recommend this one. I really love the fact that this one is so much thinner than my previous computer. And it was so much lighter!

I used the 1200x 768 resolution but the letters are out of focus, bad resolution for this screen size. I am trying to return it. The good point is the keyboard, I like it.

I've had this laptop for 9 months and it started slowing down, then it started glitching. I contacted tech support and they told me it was a software issue and I'd have to pay to get software support. What?? This was stated after 1 hour of useless tech support that I'd already tried prior to requesting a call. My child used it for a few months for virtual learning and I occasionally used it to check my emails, so there was no reason why it crashed after 9 months. Now I'll have to pay to get it fixed. I wish I'd never purchased it.

Started to configure for my dad, and could not download non-Microsoft apps. No error message - App Installer just goes blank. Best Buy tech support wants you to download and install a remote access app, which of course fails. First support guy was not aware, and in fact would not help me because someone in a Best Buy store changed my address to be the home address. Returned this to BestBuy, and bought another computer online. Never again Lenovo, and never again Best Buy!

Be sure to plug the computer in as you power the computer on for the first time. Although the factory does charge the battery, it is possible that the battery has since depleted, so plug it in before turning on. Let the battery charge for about 15-minutes, then power up. If the computer still does power on, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. If the problem persists after the factory reset, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo
