Unbelievably slow!

I bought this with the TB hard drive as a selling point but could have just bought an external drive for $200 less. It’s too big, not as lightweight as it should be for the cheap plastic. Very disappointed in Lenovo. My last laptop from them was excellent. I do not recommend this to anyone for any reason. All I have done is get online and edit a photo. No gaming or anything and it’s still painfully slow. Also, you can’t download software without an app OR you have to turn off security options. That’s obv just the windows version but still it’s very inconvenient

You can keep your computer running at its best by keeping the Windows 10 Operating System and all supporting BIOS files and drivers up to date. You can easily accomplish this by scanning the computer with the Lenovo Utility software available on this computer. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window (if Lenovo Vantage is not installed on your device, you can download the APP and install it now). Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up. Not as fast as I thought... ended up going back to Windows 10 and doubled the RAM to 16 GB... Runs OK now... not please by the effort I needed to perform the above changes when I’m not IT trained...

The salesman said it would hook up easily. I had to have help, found out I had to drop the s mode to be able to attach the copier or any other applications that were not from the Microsoft store. This should have been nice to know, may have decided against the Lenovo with S mode.

If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. If your have external devices like a copier/printer that requires drivers to be installed on the computer, you can look for those drivers in the Microsoft Store. If they are not there, you will need to switch from Windows 10 S-Mode to Windows 10 Home Operating System. It is free to switch operating systems. No problems, just me being slow. It runs a little slower than my last laptop, but I did go down in speed. I like it tho. So nice and clear. Bigger than my last because keyboard includes separate 10 key pad and the screen is bigger as well. Very light weight and slim. Does not have a DVD slot but we have an external one anyway and so far I haven't needed it. Great deal for the price.

This is by far the best one I've owned. The screen is beautiful. 4k looks amazing on this laptop. You won't be disappointed in that department. Gaming on this laptop is definitely a GO. Games look amazing and play well. Laptop doesn't lag at all when using it. Track pad and keys are very responsive as well. This is a great laptop for any use. Buy with confidence.

I did not get electronic equipment from NYC Department of Education (DOE) for my kids to continue learning while at home. I rushed to Best Buy online and made my emergency purchase of the Lenovo Laptops for my kids. It's my once a year big purchase and am loving the responses from kids, teachers and my brother who is helping each with remote schooling. It is kid friendly and easy to use...
