    Slow & Won't Turn on

I do not recommend this laptop to anyone. I purchased it for my daughter for virtual school and it performed extremely slow. After 5 months of very minimal use of the laptop it shut down in the middle of a zoom call and had power issues, and would not turn back on. I contacted the company to have the computer fixed. I mailed it out after paying for $25 box through fed ex, only to have it sent to the repair and back to me about a week later and the computer is still having power issues. This laptop in my opinion is the worst made laptop i've ever owned. The company wants me to mail it back it in for repairs which is absolutely absurd. In the meantime this is affecting my daughter's ability to get the most of her education.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop, model number 81N3009BUS. This model ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System. Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost. Even if you have switched out of S-Mode, Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686. Lenovo

Bought this for our teenage daughter. The computer works good for what she needs to do. Screen is tinted and not as clear and seems like there’s a lag in performance but like stated earlier it’s good for the stuff she’ll be doing.

Nice unit. Bought for everyday use. So only had one problem. Screen locked up and Geek Squad said they could not fix it. Checked the web and found a fix that took me all of 15 min. Since then no problems. Only put would not recommend because I'm not a Chrome fan.

After having this laptop strictly for my college work for less than a month, the computer freezes like crazy. The battery doesn’t last long I’d say maybe an hour max. Do not attempt to charge it while you are using it because it will freeze and then shut down completely. Don’t waste your money. Save up and get something worth having.

Pretty decent for the price, however, horrible echo whenever on the Zoom app..cannot seem to figure out how to get rid of it... if I turn down the volumm on the mic, you can't hear the other ppl. I pretty much have to have laptop about 6 feet away! Camera on zoom kind of grainy, i look like a hostage in a basement. Did not ever have this issue with previous Lenovo laptop.. Am I doing something wrong??!!!

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with the microphone on your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop. It could be that your microphone is picking up the broadcast audio that you are putting out as you speak causing the feedback/echo. If possible, try using a headset with your video conference APP. You can stop the feedback when you are not talking by muting your microphone. Lenovo

This laptop is slow and laggy about like a bogged-down 5 year old model, and this is just web surfing with NOTHING extra installed on it. It's ONE MONTH old! I will be returning it, it's the worst laptop I've had and I tend to replace them every 2 to 3 years. Also the touchpad has a design flaw- where you left click and right click, they made those areas still active parts of the touchpad, so the cursor is always moving when you don't want it to. You want "dead" left click and right click buttons, separate and distinct not just a part of the touchpad. This is something you can't know when you're buying over the internet and not allowed inside the store to "see/touch/feel" what you're buying. Very disappointed with this purchase.

We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop, model number 81N3009BUS. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Lenovo

This laptop gets four stars, because I haven’t used it long. I can say the first purchase was for my daughter and she bragged on the performance and insisted her brother get one for college. So this is my second purchase and I may very well have a third purchase for myself.

Don’t go cheap. This laptop is very disappointing. Battery only lasts a couple of hours, apps constantly freeze because the slow processor can’t handle more than one process at a time. Windows updates are automatically paused and no way to download them. This laptop is junk!

This is the slowest computer I have ever owned. It, thankfully, does not glitch, though. Turning the computer on has always taken forever. When pressing the power button, I expect within a minute to be able to enter the four digit key code to open up the computer. This computer has never been that fast. Just getting to the four digit log in has always taken at least four minutes... JUST TO ENTER THE 4 DIGIT CODE... Sometimes I have to power cycle the computer to get to the four digit code screen. It can take more than 15 minutes at times. I need to replace this computer. It has almost nothing on it. Memory is almost unused. I do not have videos, photos, or other large files on it, yet it can handle almost nothing. So frustrating. Lenovo is out. This is my first and my last Lenovo. I just hope the battery gets recycled properly.

This is a tremendous value, more computer than most of us will ever actually have need for. Even doing some photo editing happens faster than you can find the right control. My only gripe is that the keyboard is a bit over-sensitive for my old fingers, my typing is more suited to an IBM Selectric - set on max key pressure, Do try to hook to internet directly by wire, wi-fi is simply slower.
