STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPUTER!

Don't even think about running several programs at the same time. It eventually...after 5 months...crashed and erased all of the files I had saved...leaving me high and dry. If you do buy this expect problems that only get worse with time. Backup everything. The salesman did not warn me about its limited memory and said it would work fine. It takes forever to boot up and the hard drive developed an issue after 3 months time and went into repair mode everytime I had to boot up which was 2 to 3 times a day due to it freezing up every time I used it. Stay away and don't waste your money because you will be buying a new computer eventually. Lenovo has a laptop for 379 that has enough memory. Spend the extra 150 to get it.

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop, model number 81N3009BUS, ships with Windows 10 S-Mode Operating System and whether you keep S-Mode or switch to Windows 10 Home, it should not freeze. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

I bought this to help her out and she's been doing fine using this. She can take and sequester herself in another room so her little brother can't "help" her.

Although after only a week or two of having it, it started having some issues. It would crash, turn off and turn on it’s own. But that’s only happened twice. Other than that, everything else has been good

Decent laptop for the price.

It wasn't my first choice but I needed a machine that would run Access 2003 without any issues. Two other more robust laptops would not do this 100%. This laptop did not come with an optical drive which while not being a deal breaker just makes life a little more simpler. It doesn't have the same sturdiness as the other two laptops but the running of Access 2003 was very important.

School Use Only

I bought this for my 8 year old since everything is online now. It works fine. The only feature I didn’t like was the S mode which I took it off. I still can’t download apps like Microsoft Teams. Google Chrome doesn’t work well. That’s the main thing I hate. I can’t download apps. Again, it’s just for school work. If you want to use for more stuff, I don’t recommend it.

It takes a good minute or more just to open the web browser. I didn't expect this computer to do much but I didn't think a simple thing as opening an application would take so long. Unfortunately, I didn't have the choice to get a better laptop since I needed something right away for the kids to do school
