Worst laptop EVER

Posted .The Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 Laptop, model number 81N3009BUS should not freeze. Since you can no longer boot the computer, this system is equipped with OneKey Recovery System. There is a very small pin hole on the right side of the device, right near the headphone jack on the device. You will need a pin to push this reset button. Plug the device in. Let the battery charge for about 15 minutes. Push the reset button. The system should boot to a choice screen where you can choose "Restore To Factory Default". Select this. It will delete everything from the hard drive except the original factory install of the operating system. You will need to reinstall all programs and files after the reset. If you don't have copies of the files, try to make one before you restore by selecting "Boot to desktop" and trying to back up your files. Once you have the computer reset, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programming errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. If the problem persists, we recommend you contact Lenovo Tech Support at: 877-453-6686.

Good Laptop for Teleworking
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this Lenovo S145 laptop on sale to help me work from home. This Lenovo is light in weight, the AMD processor is fast enough for work use. The 15.6 screen is perfect size for my use. This laptop made it easy to get set up and start teleworking immediately. The speakers can have better clear sound though. This laptop works great for multitasking (Microsoft apps, online shopping, YouTube etc.). Overall, It's a decent laptop for this price range.

Inexoensive, but still disappointing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Given the price, I didn't have great expectations and so I'm not terribly disappointed. A few things art extremely annoying: first, the touchpad is ridiculously sensitive, I am constantly seeing the screen image re-sized by accident. THought by now I'd have learned to avoid it, but I can't. Worse, the lag between re-sizing on the touchpad and seeing the new image on the screen is so slow that re-sizing takes several attempts to get it right. Also, the screen dims whenever on battery --since it's a laptop, I use it on battery a good bit.. Lenovo has said the both of this complaints can be addressed in settings, but I've followed their instructions and this model does not permit the type of adjustments needed for my complaints. I should have spent a little more money for a much better machine.

Posted .We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Lenovo IdeaPad S145-15 laptop. With regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. For changing what happens to your screen brightness when you are on battery, you need to edit your Power Plan Settings. Here is a link to instructions for changing a custom Power Plan. Note the two columns of information within your settings, one for Plugged In and one for On Battery. Make sure these two column settings match to stop your screen from dimming while on battery:  https://www.windowscentral.com/how-manage-custom-power-plans-windows-10

Too slow.
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a number of computers over the years. I needed a new one but did not want to spend a lot of money for it. I was hoping for a half way decent system. The device itself is okay for the price, but you get what you pay for. It is the slowest system I've ever owned. It can take up to 3 minutes before the sign on screen appears. It doesn't freeze often, which is good, but can take time loading pages. I have no other issues with this. I guess I will not cut corners in the future.

Just adequate base model computer
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is very basic. The processor is sluggish and not at all responsive. It is decent if all you need is a bare bones laptop and can settle for the slowness and very limited battery life when you are mobile. When plugged into the ac adapter it of course run continuously.
