The touch screen was surprisingly nice. But the microphone was terrible for zoom calls and the webcam would disfunction repeatedly. Sometimes the webcam would work, other times it would give me error messages. I would avoid this product and it will most likely be my last Lenovo product.

I didn’t know that my son would be using this exclusively for school. So far it’s been working great through the pandemic with the two way video online classes. Video and audio streams very well and clear. Not bad for an entry level laptop.

Hard to set up, then easy to use

I purchased and tried to install Word. The laptop was in s mode, so Word was difficult to install with no directions. Geek Squad helped me. Now I am pleased because it is installed and easy to use.

Posted .There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software. Just use the 25-digit Product Key to activate the software already installed as part of Windows 10 S-Mode.

No protectors out there for this model beware. Kinda slow at times but could be the wifi... hope to use it for years. Setup was strange to me being a PC guy.

This processor is supported by 12GB DDR4-2400MHz RAM. This is a fast configuration. The IdeaPad S340-15 also ships with the latest 5G 802.11AC frequency WiFi. If you are experiencing slower than anticipated performance, be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. Seems to work fine for him however for his benefit only wish I would have gotten a 17” as that is what his old Dell was, my bad. Otherwise very satisfied with the product.

It has a 1 TB hard drive which is a big plus. I wanted to buy a second one but they no longer make it. The screen isn't the best out there but is still quite good.

But of course it got full so we bought an external hard drive which now everything goes well together. It really helped out business.

The 12 Gig of ram helps a lot so your not swapping out to disk. For the money it was a great buy.

Posted .There is no CD/DVD drive built in to the Lenovo IdeaPad S340-15 laptop. model number 81QG0007US. You can access the 720p (HD) web cam and microphone by following theses instructions: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4028647/windows-open-the-camera-in-windows-10. With regard to learning your way around Windows 10, you may want to try YouTube.com (just type that address in your browser address window). There are hundreds for free instructional videos there about Windows 10. Just type Windows 10 Introduction in to the YouTube search window. You can watch free videos there that will show you the basics all the way up to tips and tricks videos and they're all free.
