I am giving it 2 stars partly because it was very difficult to get Linux/Ubuntu to work properly on it. This is probably due to the nature of the chip set and not because of a flaw. I have it set up as dual boot and the Windows 11 worked out of the box with no issues. The main reason for the low score is that the battery is nothing like the 80% capacity usually promised for refurbished items and because the return window is so short. I was away from home when the return time ran out and when I realized how poor the battery is. I usually use a laptop plugged in but it is nice to have a decent battery life when it is needed. I can live with this computer but I feel that I made a mistake in buying a refurbished item through Best Buy. They need to hold their supplier's feet to the fire more and insist on better quality.

Posted .Hello, ScottR, we are sorry to hear that you encountered an issue with your Slim 7i 14. Regarding the touchpad issues, first, determine if the model Lenovo you have has a touchpad toggle button mapped on your function row of keys at the top of the keyboard. This key should have a symbol that appears as a depiction of a touchpad with a diagonal line through it. If you have this button, try pressing it or pressing it while holding the function (Fn) key. If this does not resolve your issue, next you can adjust the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom of your Windows 11 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. Making the touchpad less sensitive may correct the issues you have experienced. If your issue persists, we recommend contacting Lenovo Tech Support at this number and give the representative information on any troubleshooting steps you have tried: 877-453-6686.

Do better Best Buy. Bad parts and awful service

For a store that sells primarily computers I would expect you to send the correct cord to use to charge my laptop. I called your customer service line to get the right cord for the laptop I was told that I could get a replacement at the store, went to the store they told me I had to call Best Buy to get the part, then called Best Buy only to be told that they won’t replace it. Then I had to ask for a manager to discuss paying so much money on a laptop I can’t use. That was 2 hours of my day trying to get this sorted out.

That kind of damage doesn't happen from bumps in shipping, but it was also shipped with minimal packaging (certainly doesn't help). Very good deal for the components you get, but make sure you check upon delivery because you might find yourself exchanging a few times. These are likely returns that get forwarded to you.
