Has trouble connecting with an iPhone 12 Pro Max with a slimmer Otterbox case. Have to find the sweet spot which take 5 tries. USB port on the back keeps disconnecting/reconnecting making it unusable for my Applewatch. The speaker does sound pretty good for the size and hooking up to my google home was simple. I wouldn’t buy this again.

However, the device appears to be hanging when playing news or music. Many times the Google Assistant responds well to commands like “play music” or “news” and then there is complete silence for minutes. Wireless charging on this dock for my iPhone 13 Pro is extremely slow. Returning.

I didn't particularly enjoy the wake up with light+sound feature, and I was pleased to see that the light can be turned off easily on this model. The audio quality is better, and the screen obviously much improved. My only criticism is that the placement of the phone on the charging pad has to be fairly precise. Overall no regrets.

You will know when the device you have placed on the wireless charging dock is positioned correctly and is charging when the indicator light on the device alerts that charging is beginning. Also there is a magnet within the base of the wireless charger, under the plus sign that helps with aligning a device. The nightlight on the Smart Clock 2 base will also flash when wireless charging begins.

Tied using a USB A to USB C adapter to charge iWatch with the iPhone. Had to buy a charging cable that was USB A to charge the iWatch at the same time.
