|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.As an owner of the first version of the Lenovo Smart Clock, I was excited to try out the second. The alarm clock is similar to a Google Nest, except it is specifically designed to primary function as an alarm clock. You can customize the display to have a few different home displays. My favorite is the weather one, which shows you a graphic of the weather conditions outside. Setup of the alarm clock is pretty easy, just launch the Google Home app on your phone and follow the wizard. Within a few minutes, the device will be ready to go. Being a google based smart speaker, you can have the clock play music through a linked service. When creating an alarm, you can ask Google to create an alarm that plays one of the connected services. The alarms have a nice sunrise feature that changes the display to a white light, to help wake you up before the alarm goes off. Compared to 1st gen there are some nice improvements. The speakers are now front facing, which improves the audio quality. Also, the wireless charging dock is a very nice add on. I really like the fact that the base light pulses when you put your phone on the charger (that gives a nice indication that the phone is properly sitting on the charger). As much as I like the unit, there are some issues I have with it: * I wish the sound quality was a little better. I find the Nest Mini sounds better. It isn't a deal breaker for me, because I mostly use the clock to play NPR to wake me up * There seems to be a bug when you use the wireless charger and charge a second device via the USB port. If you first start charging a phone, and then connect a second device via USB, the USB device will have power applied in a pulsing fashion. However, if you start charging the USB device first and then use the wireless charger, everything works fine. * I wish the sunrise alarm would stay white once the alarm goes off. I find it strange that it displays a bright white screen before the alarm goes off, but then goes black once it starts.

Hard to set up

Charger Doesn't Recognize Pixel 6 Pro

Speaker is fine, Google Assistant works great. The wireless charger doesn't seem to recognize my phone (Pixel 6 Pro) or my earbuds (OnePlus Buds Z) but it works fine with my roommates' iPhones. I've seen lots of other reviewers have the same problem with the Pixel 6, so hopefully that can be fixed with an update. Would add another star if the charger actually worked with my phone!
