It is pretty bright, but it dims a whole lot when idle which is perfect when you are trying to sleep. The night light comes very handy at times. The only con I would say is the sound quality is not the best, but it kinda makes sense considering the price point of this item.

Posted .We are sorry to hear you are experiencing WIFI connectivity issues with your Lenovo Smart Clock Essential. We recommend switching between 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands of your router. In some instances overlap from other wireless devices can cause this issue. To do this please ensure your device is within good range of your router. Then please perform a factory reset on the device by holding down the “Volume + and – ” buttons on top of your device for 8 Seconds. During setup please select a different band *Either 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz when connecting to your WiFi Network. Lastly please reset your model and router by powering them down for 20 seconds then back on again. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team at 866-426-0911

Audio qyality is good enough for an alarm clock and listening on low levels. Bass isn't very good but my only real complaint is that the minimum volume isn't low enough. When I'm listening in my office I want it a bit quieter for some background music. I find the lowest volume isn't quite low enough. I just use it mainly as a smart speaker and clock. I haven't used the alarm functions yet.

Try using the voice command, "Okay google volume 1%" to see if that can get the audio a little lower than using the volume slider on your smart phone or tablet, or the volume buttons on the device itself.
