The only thing I don’t like is the leading zero for 12-hour time (e.g., 09:35 AM) and figuring out the voice command to dim the clock digits took some time (“dim the clock to 10%” turns on the night light; “set the brightness to 10%” also turns on the night light; “dim the screen to 10%” isn’t understood, etc).

We appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our smart devices. You can dim the Display at any time by saying "Ok Google Display brightness 1-100%. You can also turn off the display by saying "Okay Google Display Brightness 0%. The Smart Clock Essential should also automictically adjust it's brightness to the lighting in the room. If your Smart Clock Essential is not behaving in this manner please power cycle the device by unplugging it for 1-2 minutes. Plugging it back in and allowing it to power on. If the issue remains please perform a factory reset by holding down the “Volume + and – ” buttons on top of your device for 8 Seconds. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team at 866-426-0911

They had so much fun playing Jeopardy, listening to Spotify, telling it to play specific songs, etc. Recently, my eldest played a prank on my youngest who was napping next to it by changing the music to something loud. Surprising amount of fun to be had!

I was looking for something small to sit on a bookshelf in my living room and this is perfect. And it is dimmable to boot. I have turned off the mic as I have so many Google assistants in my house. I'm thinking of getting one for my guest bedroom nightstand.
