I plan to slowly convert other of my home features to "smart" technology but the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential seems like a great place to start. It has worked well so far with my limited connectivity.

I got it so I can unplug from my phone and not have the temptation to grab my phone at night. Sometime you just wanna know what time it is.

OK for the price

I basically like it except for one thing - it occasionally doesn't display the temperature. That's something I want at my bedside at a glance. Sure, I can always say "OK Google, what's the temperature?" But why should I have to when its supposed to be on the display? And nothing I can find in the instructions, either what was provided with it or on line, tells me how to turn on that aspect of the display. Next, and I think this a Google problem rather than Lenovo, I can't get the two devices to use different voices. This Lenovo is in the bedroom and the Insignia unit is in the living room. I can reset the voice on one, only to have it also reset on the other. Basically small complaints, and I like the Lenovo at bedside with its automatic display dimming in the dark.

At the top right, tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
Tap Assistant settings Voice Match Add devices.
Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
Tap Next I agree.
Follow the in-app steps.
In regards to the weather not showing we recommend to perform a factory reset by holding down the “Volume + and – ” buttons on top of your device for 8 Seconds. If the issue persists, please contact our customer support team at 866-426-0911

Modern smart clock - great value

Having the internet-precise time and local temperature is great (never have to set the clock, which is a big plus for me). It's speaker isn't the best for music compared to larger smart speakers, but it works fine for playing the news or answering Google questions.

Very sensitive microphone and picks up the keyword quickly and from far away. You don't need to scream! Display is adequately bright. Only gripe is speaker is not very nice, but i guess you never buy this for its speaker quality. In all cases it is perfect for my kids room.

He appreciates the display options (esp the temp) and called when it was Daylight Savings to say the clock AUTOMATICALLY UPDATED. Whoa! He was happy. It also looks quite nice. We purchased it on Black Friday so the price was great. :)
