Only bad part is the voice recognition does not capture all the time and you need to be fairly close to the unit.

It is possible setting up voice match and raising the "okay google" sensitivity will help with this. to setup voice match please open the Google Home app.
At the top right, tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
Tap Assistant settings Voice Match Add devices.
Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
Tap Next I agree.
Follow the in-app steps.
To adjust the sensitivity of the mic please open the Google Home app .
At the bottom, tap Home .
Select your speaker or Smart Display.
At the top right, tap Device settings. ...
Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.

I asked it to turn on the coffee pot and it instead told me about local coffee shops. Not sure if it needs to hear your voice more to understand.

I thought the phone app would facilitate the alarm setting, and maybe even be smart enough to know that, for instance, on a holiday you might not need your early wake up alarm (like my phone suggests). This was not the case. I probably would have returned it, but I got it on sale and it wasn't worth it to me to make the trip.

I like having the temp. and weather condition show. I use Google command to turn lights on and off, play my favorite music for set amount of time and to set alarm.

All the features of a Google/Nest device with an informative clock on the front. The night light on the back is kind of pointless because it is way too dim for use.

With a Voice Command like, Hey Google turn on night light, you can turn on the night light feature from across a darkened room. You can also use a Voice Command like, Hey Google, increase the night light brightness to 100 Percent for added brightness. Another Voice Command when you are finished with the night light, such as, Hey Google turn off night light is also available.

Automatic brightness control, a mute switch, easy to read the time, and only needs internet once every few days to get time, which is good because I don't need google spying on me 24/7.
