You can fine tune the speaker by opening the Google Home App on your Smart Phone or Tablet, opening the Lenovo Smart Clock Essential, and selecting the three bars with a line through them at the top of the screen. This will allow you to adjust the Bass and Treble to your preference.

When we try to turn on with voice command sometimes it mutes tge speaker insted of turning on. And clock display is pretty neat.

You can turn on the nightlight by holding the volume - button for 3 seconds or by using the voice command, "Okay google nightlight on/off" . Additionally you can adjust the brightness of the nightlight with the command, Okay google nightlight brightness 1-100%. If you are experiencing an issue with the mic/assistant. Please remove the plastic film that is on the screen to protect the unit during shipping. If the issue persists, it is possible setting up voice match and raising the "okay google" sensitivity will help with this. to setup voice match please open the Google Home app.
At the top right, tap your account.
Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your speaker or display. To switch accounts, tap another account or Add another account.
Tap Assistant settings Voice Match Add devices.
Make sure any devices you want to link your voice to are checked.
Tap Next I agree.
Follow the in-app steps.
To adjust the sensitivity of the mic please open the Google Home app .
At the bottom, tap Home .
Select your speaker or Smart Display.
At the top right, tap Device settings. ...
Choose how sensitive you want Google Assistant to be when it responds to you.

You pair with to the WiFi in your home and it gets the (accurate) time that way. The weather info is nice.

In regards to the display we recommend to perform a hard reset by unplugging the device, plugging it back in, and allowing it to power back on. If the issue remains please perform a factory reset by holding down the alarm and volume "-" buttons for 10 seconds. You can use both in the same room. He uses his for his alarm on his side of the bed. And I use mine to play music on Spotify to sleep to. They don't effect each other.
