This is the biggest difference for me as I wanted an alarm clock with Google assistant capabilities and put the Lenovo smart clock in place of the Google Home I had. As an alarm clock with Google capabilities, it's working very well for me as it allows me to control my smart devices and get information off the internet by voice, etc. I like its ability to auto dim the display so it's not super bright at night.

I like how this connects with my other google Home devices. Speaker quality is fair but I don't really use this to blast music in my bedroom so it doesn't matter to me.

It is possible that adjusting the "Hey Google" sensitivity when using multiple devices in the same room will allow the device to only respond the person closest to it. To try this please open the Google Home App from your smartphone or tablet that's connected to your home network. Then click on the desired device and scroll to the bottom to select "Hey Google" sensitivity. You should now have access to a slider bar that can adjust from least sensitive to most sensitive. Hope this helps!
