Less glitchy then before; decent but not flawless.

I don’t use the smart features much. Basically I just wanted I nice alarm clock that had more customizable alarms than you typically find. I bought one of these when it originally came out about two years ago, but returned it because there was a glitch that caused the screen to frequently flash whenever I had the microphone turned off. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and figured I’d give it another try. Thankfully that glitch is gone. However, when I was choosing clock faces I did have the clock freeze up on me twice and reboot once. Also there was once morning where the alarm tone switched back to the default tone even though I had picked a different louder alarm tone. Re-doing the alarm fixed this. MIght just be coincidence but the night before I had chromecasted some music to the clock from my phone. I’ve only had this charcoal one for maybe 2 weeks now at most. Perhaps less. I’m keeping it. I like that I can do the alarms kind of like on a smart phone. There is a button on the screen that pops up that lets me turn off the alarm for that day if I happen to wake up, say, 30 minutes prior to the alarm going off.

Music Alarm?

However, the smart alarm clock and smart home functionality is limited. I spent the better part of two weeks trying to figure out how to setup an alarm to play music (service: Spotify) but had no luck. I can't play that song or radio station was usually the response. Weird since it could play it on demand (Hey Google, play 1010 WINS). I also tried to set the weather wallpaper. I was able to apply the wallpaper but I am not sure it ever worked. Maybe I got a lemon but the clock didn't meet my expectations. I appreciate Best Buy's return service.
