Better than nest mini?

It is full google assistant and while you can't do as much on it as let's the day the nest hubs( as far as using the touch screen), it is plenty for it being a bedside or small clock to take a glance and ask it questions and run routines. Speaker can be pretty loud too if you need volume.

Posted .Hi Sarah, there are multiple ways to adjust the brightness of the Display. If you Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen you can select the little circle with the "a" in the middle to toggle "Auto Dim" off/on. This will allow the smart clock to utilize the ambient light sensor to adjust your screen brightness to the lighting in the room. You can take it a step further by adjusting the min/max brightness of the auto dim feature, and even telling the screen to turn completely off at night by selecting the "Display Settings" of the clock. To access "Display Settings" swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and select the gear or "Settings" icon. Then select "Display Settings"

Great for a bedroom with Google Home integration

Replaced a Google Home Mini in our Master Bedroom with this, and we use it not only as our clock but also as a white noise generator at night (there are people who have lots of time on their hands who have created white noise playlists on Spotify). Really cleaned up my night stand.

The alarms can be customized for specific days of the week and you can set the snooze individually for each alarm as well. It has Google Home built in along with all the functionality of a Google Home Mini. It does not play video, although I don't see the point of using an alarm clock for that. It can play music from Google Play. To top it off, it has a USB port for charging an additional device.
