MAC address randomization bug

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Lenovo Smart clock with Google Assistant has a serious bug with the WiFi MAC address being randomized every few hours, which is not the way a home IoT device should operate. This means the clock causes grief with home parental control systems and device security monitoring, and it can't be used in a college campus setting where devices have to be registered to use the WiFi long-term. Other than this fatal issue, it seems to be a good product. This issue has been going on for months since the product release, and you can find articles discussing and begging for a fix on both Lenovo and Google Assistant support forums. Unfortunately, I ran into it immediately with my home router security and will have to return this device due to this flaw unless it is fixed by end of the month.
