Solid 2in1 for travel and mild daily use..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this model for 5 days now. I haven't experienced any lag at all. The processor is barely behind my main computer which has a 3rd gen i3. It's the perfect device to carry around all day and do light work on. Perfect for travelling as well. 11.6" model is super thin and light!... I was debating between this and the ASUS T100. Having the Yoga design vs having to detach the tablet was my deciding factor. Along with getting a full size keyboard vs the cramped keyboard on the T100. To me, it was worth the $499 price tag. Overall I use this quite a bit in stand mode while kicking back on the couch. Much easier than a regular tablet. Not sure what the deal was with the previous reviewers (possibly a lemon?).

Good PC for basic college needs
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lenovo is a very stylish and sleek computer with minimal flaws and alot of great features for the price. However the flaws of this computer do annoy me but i work my way around them. The keyboard is very small and compact with no backlight on it at all. If there was a back lght i would be very very happy because i like being in my bed at night doing homework on my computer with the light off. The keybooard slips up a bit and it took me a great deal of time and writing of essays to get used to this keyboard. The speed and processing is great for just basic college needs and some social media. After many tabs are open it tends to lag but theres only an i3 processor in there. The price range is great and affordable for a broke college student like myself. Overall i would recommend this computer to a child or average home user or college student. Not a gaming computer at all.

Excellent value for the money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought for business use, loaded Office 2013 and a few networking apps, no hesitation or delays, screen is bright and touch is accurate. Battery lasts around 5 hrs of normal use. Light and easy to carry around, very thin for a convertible. I wouldn't play graphic intense games on it but it's not designed for that anyway. For $499 you won't find a better 2 in 1. Very happy with purchase.

Nice small laptop
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a pretty good laptop. We haven't had any issues so-far, and have been using it for 5 days now. I love that it is so lightweight and portable. The only downside is the processor is not very fast and some programs take a few seconds to open up. Also the website advertises it as having Windows 8.1 however mine only have Windows 8. But I upgraded to 8.1 for free.

Light weight and serves the purpose of a small lap
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had this for 2 weeks and it hasn't disappointed us. Our daughter is using this for her school purposes. Once we disabled the startup junk programs, lagging was greatly reduced and turn on and off is quicker. It is sturdier, looks sleek and serves the purpose. It is light weight and fits the backpack perfectly. Wi-fi works excellent. Battery life lasts around 6 hours. Would definitely recommend for students.

Good For the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop a few months ago, works alright. Can be slow at times. But not bad for the price. SOme times when going between tablet mode and laptop mode, the screen gets confused and takes a few seconds to figure its self out. But again good for the price paid.

Should be better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I selected this model because it was super light weight, had a touch screen, and 2:1 capabilities. All of those features are fine, but what's not fine is the built-in network adapter. It falls off the network several times/day for no discernible reason and when it is on the network, the NIC is slow. I run this machine side-by-side with a Core i5 desktop that has an Intel NIC and the desktop never dumps the network and is much faster at web browsing and general tasks. Granted, the Yoga is a Core i3, but that doesn't explain the poor network performance. Something else to consider is that this only connects to the network via WiFi, it doesn't have a port for a physical ethernet connection (which is a tradeoff for it being so thin and light). You should be aware that when you're trying to troubleshoot your cable modem and WiFi router problems, one of the basic tests is to plug your PC directly into the cable modem....you can't do that with this because there's nowhere to plug in a network cable on the Yoga. I don't recommend this machine and in fact, I won't buy any PC without an Intel network adapter again.

Great first time computer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this computer for my daughter as her first computer. Nice, compact computer with an easy touch screen to navigate. If you are used to Windows 7 and a regular home screen, the Windows 8 touch screen takes a little getting used to. Charge is decent and the flexibility of the flip screen seems ok. The only complaint is the blue screen of death she was getting before we completed all the updates and installed the anti-virus protection. After that she is up and running without a problem.

Almost perfect design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am using this for taking notes, recording lectures, and typing papers for graduate school. It will fulfill all of that just fine. The one thing that I do wish was available was a forward facing camera to take pictures of the board without having to awkwardly position the laptop. Luckily I can integrate photos taken on my phone into Evernote. Also, Windows 8.1 and the touch screen have a learning curve, but it seems to come quickly, though I feel there is still a fair amount more to learn.

Home Laptop Replacement
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First touch screen computer aside from my smart phone. The 500 GB hard-drive and Pentium were good enough for my Office Pro and Corel Draw to run great. Windows 8.1 took time to learn but was not too difficult and a must for this laptop. Some provided SW was unloaded. Chrome browser and Mcafee work fine. Start-up is a bit shorter and from Sleep to Awake is fast. I'm please with this purchase. Two other competitors were vying for my purchase with similar models (I'm a big Dell fan) but moved to this unit because of Needing IT now (former laptop was dying)..

This is the computer you want
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm not a big gamer. Although this computer does run Portal 2 without any issues. As a flexible, sold workhorse this machine cant be beat for the price. Pros: It's zippy. The different media screen positions are very useful. It's a light machine with a very solid build. Lenovo did NOT fill it full of bloatware AND they also have a couple of very useful proprietary utilities like the the facial recognition log-in software. The keyboard is nice and the screen is lovely. Lets be clear here... this is my first Lenovo laptop and I am a FAN! This is an excellent machine for not a lot of money. I've owned a round dozen laptops over the past two decades. This is one of my favorites. Cons: When I first purchased the Yoga, there were Linux support issues with the graphics card. That may have been fixed. If you're not a linux user... ignore this and buy this machine. If you are a linux user, make sure it's supported before buying.

Great family 2 in 1
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 1st gen Yoga 13 for work and liked it well enough to purchase a Yoga2 13 for my home office. 6 months later bought one for the rest of the family. All 3 machines have been great. Power supplies are interchangeable and charge fast. Only ding is the bloatware, but you get that with every computer today.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just got it. I loved it. its light very easy to use as a tablet and I even like the stand mode a lot. I feel the sound could be a bit louder. the keys on the keyboard are good but I feel they could have had more spring. Really good for the price overall. Very good to travel with

Great use of Windows 8
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this about 2 weeks ago, and have used it exclusively every day since. So I have had time enough to give it a decent review. First off, the idea of Yoga makes windows 8 a perfect system. It combines the power of a laptop with the convenience of a tablet. In both modes it is very functional. The keyboard does have a slight flex in the center, however this has not been any issue in the 2 weeks I have had it. The keyboard is just about the right size. It does not feel cramped as I have seen with the 10 inch 2 in 1's. Battery life for my use is about 5.5-6 hours. That is a mix of browsing, simple games, email and word documents. Screen is bright and very useable. I did have a 10 inch 2-in1 that I returned, which had a very fuzzy display. I think the 11.6 inch is the minimum size for a laptop screen I would recommend. The only real drawback was the 500GB HDD. It is noticeably slower than the SSD drive in my old laptop. Good news... The hard drive can be replaced. The hard drive that comes in the Yoga is only 5mm thick, which is 2mm thinner than the typical SSD drive. After a couple of looks inside the bottom panel, I cloned the hard drive to my SSD drive, and swapped them out. The SSD I used was from my old laptop, a 300GB Intel 320 series. Which is 7mm with the adapter removed. So it can be replaced. With the SSD drive, the Yoga is completely silent and is considerably quicker when opening programs and starting up. I did ding the performance rating in this review down to 4 stars. However, with the SSD I would give it a 5. I am not sure about the potential for voiding the warranty by swapping the hard drive, so be sure to check the warranty statement before attempting to switch them out. I did notice while I was in there, that it looks like the wireless card can also be swapped (For anyone disappointed in not have 5Ghz capability with the Yoga). In my experience, the 5Ghz band had a much shorter range than the 2.4Ghz band. So no real loss for me. One other note, the laptop ships with windows 8. So you will need to run windows update right out of the box. Then after windows update finishes (takes about an hour), head to the windows store to download and install windows 8.1. So you will spend about 2 hours updating before you can start using it. I would strongly recommend doing the updates right out of the box. Windows 8.1 has a lot of tweaks which make it much more user friendly.

Good laptop but no place to attach a cable lock
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this laptop because it was very lightweight, had great screen resolution, etc. However, when I opened it at home, I discovered that there was no place to attach a cable lock, which I was VERY surprised about. Without a cable lock, there is no way that I would be able to use this laptop for business travel, so I returned it.

Disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My cheap laptop died after many years of daily use, and I find myself looking for a replacement. I use a laptop mostly for social networking, emailing, and blogging. So I wasn't worried about getting anything very high end. After years with a large, bulky, heavy laptop, I looked forward to something more lightweight, and was drawn to the Lenovo Yoga (we have a higher-end model at work that I love!) However I have been frustratingly disappointed with the performance of this model. Aside from general slow performance when launching programs or opening/loading websites, I have found it to be merely mediocre when playing videos, and the touchpad is driving me insane! There is no scroll bar on the touchpad, and I thought I could get by without it, but I find that feature matters much more than I thought it did. And the "click" area of the touchpad is jittery, and the gestures work very awkwardly. I often find that when I am clicking around and maneuvering around pages, I am suddenly launched back into a different app. It seems you can accidentally launch the nifty touchscreen swipe feature that allows you to flip between apps, and the one that brings up the Start menu. It gets really annoying! Plus the keyboard (which I initially liked) I've found to be awkward and it causes me to make many more typos than I normally do. In fact, there is something weird with the keys that can result in double letters (e.g. everyyday, noww). I have never done that before. It has only been with this computer. So I don't know whether the keys are sticking, or if it is because the keys have to be hit fairly hard to register your finger tap. Overall this would be a good choice for someone just starting out with computers, or a young student. But for someone more advanced like me, this Pentium processor is killing me, and the touchpad is going to make me rip my hair out! I'll be returning this to the store ASAP.

Good for multipurpose use.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was very excited when I got the Lenovo-Yoga. The visual appearance and graphics are very nice. The ability to go from laptop mode to tablet is also convenient. Very light weight as well. However, I did not like the speed. I don't have anything downloaded, other than the virus protection, and the response when opening any application is very slow. I have a desktop for over seven years and it has a much faster response than my new laptop. I hope Lenovo can address this issue because I really like this laptop.

Nice laptop and tablet, when you need it.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is very nice and compact. I'm actually surprised by the weight. Its lightweight. Battery life is actually good. Its been 5 hours now since I unplugged and it says another 30 mins left. The flip of the screen makes it a tablet mode. Tried a couple apps that I use a lot and what can I say. The other gripe I have is Lenovos website says it comes with a full verision of MS Office but Best Buy's website says 60 day trial. I can't even find MS Office on my computer, if it was included WOW good software for the price. If it is only 60 days trial I wish Lenovo would put that on their website.

excellent for the price, but too much bloatware
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with the system, but as with most all Lenovo PCs, too much bloatware installed. Once uninstalled, system is great. Pre-installed McAfee anti-virus caused issues with updates, but otherwise, works as advertised. Nice screen, love the flipping orientation.

Great laptop for the price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I owned both the Asus T100 10.1" tablet/laptop and loved it except for the smallish keyboard. I then moved on to the HP Pavilion X2 11.6 tablet/laptop and that system was "okay", except that it had horrible, horrible battery life and it seemed rather heavy. Then, after trying out the Lenovo, I was sold. Great battery life for my use blogging (a LOT of wifi time), writing via Microsoft Office and all in all, it handles anything that I throw at it. Mind you, this is NOT a gaming a laptop however, I didn't purchase it for that purpose. The fact that I have no latches to disconnect, or the need to carry the keyboard around as a second piece is really the best aspect to this whole thing. I highly recommend this laptop.
