Defective power supply / motherboard
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this about 3-4 months ago from Madison, Ms. Since then, I have had to return to lenovo twice. After working fine the night before, It would not turn on nor charge the next morning. After the first time, it was repaired for three weeks before happening again. Now they claim that this model has had problems before. So they are attempting to repair a second time rather than honor their warranty and replace the unit. Bestbuy will not honor their warranty which I purchased until Lenovo's one year warranty is expired. What they don't tell you is that BB's one year warranty only covers the first year of the product. Well, that was money down the proverbial drain. I initially liked the product, but a consistent, reliable operating machine was what I was expecting. Now, I honestly don't know when it will cease operating. Toshiba not much better. That leaves Dell or Samsung for a touch laptop.

Frustrating from the start
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a laptop, this model is lackluster. Very slow at start up. Purchased for my son to use for school, but instead of getting his school work done, he was constantly having to fool with the computer's operation failures and spinning circles. Although hundreds cheaper than a MacBook, I'd spend hundreds more for a MacBook. The touchscreen, was okay, save for fingerprinted screens and the laptop moving when trying to touch the screen. But if you are inclined to buy a Mac instead, DO IT. I bought this for my son and sold it on eBay after 2 months of frustration. He loves his MacBook!

Great 2-in-1 with excellent display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally tried the HP Pavilion X360, however I returned it because the screen lacked clarity. Forget about viewing angles, looking at it straight on I had difficulty reading text. I replaced my purchase by getting the Lenovo Yoga 2 11 for $100 more I got a much better screen with an IPS display! The Lenovo software is a bit unnecessary, but the comfy keyboard, vibrant screen and slim sleek factor of this all-in-one what makes this one a winner. Again this isn't going to be a power house laptop like an i3 or i5 processor but those who check e-mail, use the web it does the job with the flexibility of touch-pad interface.

Hard drive died after three months
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this computer and it was working great--simple, lightweight, just what I needed. A few months later it went through an automatic upgrade. The next day, I started it and it froze and then died. Will not restart, just goes through a boot loop, trying and failing to start up. Each time, I get a sad face and an error message. Lenovo says only thing to do is reformat the hard drive to factory settings and re-install everything. I now own a $500 paper weight.

Excellent Travel Computer...

Terrible
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the most irritating computer! I've had a Lenovo before and loved it. But I hate this one. The only good thing is the size and weight. My mouse is always freezing and won't work, the screen freezes, the apps won't load, other parts of the computer will stop working, it constantly says my printer is offline when it's working just fine. I wish I could take this piece of junk back! I would much rather carry my old, heavy, and bulky version anytime!

Waste of my time & money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this lenovo for the price and features. As a college student I was expecting to use this as much as possible. The first thing about this laptop is that it requires an update, bobble your head? Why does a brand new laptop need an update? Anyways, it runs smoothly. It really does, beautiful picture, very responsive touch screen. But why am I giving this a 2 star review? Well on the third day of having it, the battery gave out. The entire laptop didn't turn on for nothing, no light indicating it was charging either. Honestly I was mad so I called Lenovo since it comes with a one year warranty on hardware. They tell me I'll have to ship it so they can fix it. I asked why did it happen and their response was, and I quote, "Sometimes the laptop gives out, it's very rare but sorry it happened." I didn't send it to them, I returned it at Best Buy for a full refund. Why would I keep a laptop that ALREADY needs to be serviced after having it for three days. Maybe it was dumb luck I had the laptop but I truly advise to look into another laptop such as HP or Dell.

Worst Computer I've Ever Owned
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used computers daily since 1985. This is the worst computer I've ever owned, largely due to the horribly clunky UI and OS. I've had it for 5 months, and only had it on exactly 10 times. Meanwhile I use my old home desktop, and my PC at work, every day. A good tool gets used often. It takes so long and so much frustration to use the Lenovo w/ Windows 8.1, that I use something else instead. This is not a standalone machine. It requires you to be connected to the internet nearly constantly. I hope you have at least a 1G download. Lenovo shipped this with malware. The hardware is probably a fine machine. But between Win 8.1, Lenovo's malware, and Lenovo's bloatware, you won't get much work done. This is a toy for teens who want to be entertained and popular with their friends. It is not a backup or travelling machine for a working professional who needs to actually produce work and conduct business. Don't buy this computer.

Neat machine - poor WIFI connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Slick and handy but buyer beware, I purchased mine in March of 2015 only to find out that it doesn't work with a 5Ghz wireless network and that according to Lenovo, cannot be upgraded to a dual band card. If you are okay with a slow connection to the internet and the occasional disconnection from WIFI, this is a decent machine. Make sure you do your homework (I didn't and regret it) on this purchase.

didn't even last a year
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got this computer on January for school. Worked great for 2 weeks then started to shutdown automatically, began going slower, and slower. Now it's May and it turns on but the screen doesn't work. At all. $500 for this piece of junk. Very very disappointed.

Broke down in less than 2 weeks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As much as I'd love to give a 5 star and was impressed by the sleek design and weight - It apparently didn't last that long. In less than 2 weeks - the laptop stopped responding. There's no power at all even after plugging into an outlet. I tried using different adapter and outlet and there's no sign of life or even a light indicator. So, Yeah - I'll be taking back to BB once I get back in town. I looked up online and this seems to be an issue with most of the Lenova computer - Not sure why this hasn't been addressed at all.

Very bad battery life, won't hold charge
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought two of these open box, thinking perhaps they were sent back due to their size limits. I guess I was too optimistic. The battery cannot keep a charge and it drains very quickly. I turn it off completely at around 70%, turn it back on and it is 20%. How would it use the battery if it is off? It should have been around 6 hours of battery life, but nope. Most I could get was maybe around 3 hours. I dimmed the screen brightness and did other power saving options. I even tried to reset the battery (gauge reset) which took a whole day to configure. I was only using these for school, mainly web-based applications. In comparison to the HP Pavilion, this Lenovo model is better in some aspects. The screen is very crisp and isn't bulky like the HP Pavilion. I originally loved this product, but this company is known for not testing their products to high standards and they often lie about the battery life on their products. It's a shame that while this product is a beauty and could do so much, the batteries on these things is really bad. How am I going to use this product comfortably, when I have to keep checking on the battery? Ain't nobody got time for that. For those that purchased this, get new, not open box and definitely do the countdown for 15 days for return. Or else you'll be stuck with it. Some would argue, oh it's a faulty battery, return it and get a new one. But this happened with two units that were resold as fine. This is a laptop 2-in-1 and so it won't ever have a good battery life like a tablet would. It's not built well either, the keyboard is such a joke! You have to smash the buttons which reveals the plastic sinking down with each key being pressed. The screen wasn't aligned with the top of the laptop so a gap was visible. This product is also a bit heavy. I just gave up with the ridiculous battery life and I returned both of them and purchased the Asus - Transformer T100 - 32GB. It's cheaper by $150 and is a tablet/laptop with FREE Microsoft Office, it's smaller and less bulky too. There is a 64GB model but that is only sold online. The keyboard is really nice and the screen is very crisp. The battery life is supposed to be "all day" which I'm experiencing, it's a blast to own. I turned it on around 1pm with 100% battery life, at 10pm the battery life was around 40%, pretty sweet! It also has better audio than this Lenovo. Definitely check it out!

Impressed With Performance Not with Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I see all the other reviews about how fast and great it is so I wont go too much into that Instead I will share my experience. I purchased this device 3 days ago, I started with uninstalling all the bloatware and setting up my own software. on the 2nd Day I noticed the thin layer of plastic between the display screen and the LCD Screen was peeling underneath no real way to fix without voiding the warranty was "ok" with it since it was only around the edges but it was a tad bit bothersome. I decided to hold off on returning it and think about it since I had 2 weeks. Today when playing around with it I noticed the casing on the Screen side at the bottom was coming apart! I knew if i tried to squeeze it I could potentially bust the LCD, taking apart would void warranty so I returned it and bought the Yoga 11S Ideapad that seems to be of much better quality. As for performance I was impressed especially or the price I had the Following running just fine: office 2013, photoshop, illustrator CS6, Dreamweaver, Visual Studio 2013, VNC, BlueJ, Eclipse without any issues whatsoever. I tried pressing my luck with Virtualbox and a copy of ubuntu 14 but it wasnt that fast :/ but for $500 aside from the terrible build quality of falling apart in 3 days I was impressed! I might may have gotten one that was boxed while QA was on lunch who knows, just beware the physical feel between the yoga 2 11 and the yoga 11s is very noticeable. You just have to decide if the $300 for the SSD, full SD slot, Regular HDMI port, Better build, and i5 core CPU is worth it.

Poor Wifi = Not Portable!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Windows 8 is atrocious. I wish I had something positive to say about this laptop. I really wanted to love it. It's small, has a sleek design and some cool features. But fresh out of the box (set up by the "pros" at GeekSquad), upon connecting to my Wifi at home, it was telling me that 1 room away from the router I only had 3 bars of connectivity, and in a simple surfing session, it took everyday web pages (shopping and news sites) about 5 minutes to load. Each. What's the point of having a laptop if you can't surf the internet without being tethered to a cable? The reason I purchased this laptop was to be able to have a more portable version - but if it won't connect or connects at 1980's speeds (actually I'm sure it was far worse - I got better "reception" with dial-up!), can we really call it "portable"? The salesperson at the store kept telling me it was "much faster" than my old laptop, but I don't know what she's talking about. My old laptop was faster across the board, and I could surf multiple pages while running Office programs and chatting and streaming and multi-tasking - this one can't seem to *just* surf the internet without blowing a gasket! On top of that, I'm pretty sure my Lenovo has a poltergeist. While I'm surfing or typing, sometimes with the touchpad/cursor, sometimes nowhere near it, at random intervals different screens will pop up - without any clear way to get rid of them. I've discovered that swiping will allow me to get back to the previous screen, but I can't explain why other screens are popping up to begin with. (Other reviewers have mentioned things about the touch pad settings, so I'll have to look into it, but there doesn't appear to be any particular pattern as to when it happens.) This may or may not be related to Windows 8. I also noticed that in the few minutes of use (30 mins. or less), the laptop got much warmer than I expected it to. The laptop cover also has fingerprint marks from a single use - marks that will not come out even with significant buffing attempts. I've never seen anything like it. I suppose it's awesome that this 2-in-1 is convertible and has a touch screen, but I can't enjoy the product's special features if I can't even complete the most *basic* of tasks which I need to perform daily. It is unlikely that I will be keeping this product.

Nice Laptop but has weak wi-fi reception
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall the laptop performs well, despite the Windows 8.1 OS. The only real issue is the weak Wi-Fi reception. Every other computer and device in the house shows a strong signal, but this laptop never gets above 3 bars and frequently loses reception all together. Not sure if it is an issue with the antennae or just a cheap Wi-Fi card. I wish I had purchased a Dell.

Love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to replace an HP 360 that I had for a day. This is twice the machine. The speakers are good and it does anything I ask. Windows 8 has a bit of a learning curve but isn't too bad. The flip/touch screen is nice. Screen is good but it could be a little brighter. Bluetooth has outstanding range. The sales guy was very helpful and suggested some brands that were available in order of his likes . This was 2nd in his suggestions and about $200.00 less. Thanks Best Buy. All in all I really like this machine.
