    Horrible Touchpad

    Posted .

I bought this because the screen pivots back and I could use it like a tablet. However all the programs I use run in desktop mode which does not work very well with a touchscreen (zooming and scrolling are exceptions). I like the size and the display but battery life could be better. I doubt that I could stream a movie on battery power alone. My big dislike is the touchpad sensitivity. When I try to use the left/right buttons the cursor moves when I lift my finger. If I enable Tap to Click the touchpad generates false clicks, adjusting sensitivity does not help. It seems that many edge swipe commands are executed without making any contact with the touchpad. I have had to disable all extra touchpad commands. These are common problems with the Lenovo Yoga series from what I have found with Google. With a good touchpad I would rate it as a 4, add better battery life and I would give it a 5. At this time I would not recommend buying this mode;.

    Worst Computer I have owned

This computer was advertised to me as the next best thing. It has all these different functionalities, upgrades, etc. The problem is that Lenovo, in an attempt to get all these nice new features, really messed up on the basics. What do I care if the computer has touch screen, can bend, etc. when the screen keeps flickering on and off, the audio jack keeps on turning on and off, the wireless mouse has a million issues, Excel and other simple typical programs keep crashing, the Wi Fi decides to not open, I have to restar/shut down the computer every 20 minutes because X issue happened this time (you can be as creative as you want with X!). This computer defines a glitchy laptop. Very disappointed.

Don't Be Fooled By "Good" Price

The price may be good on this unit but the computer is actually horrible. I've had this computer for exactly 1 year 10 days and it has died on me twice now (will not power on). The first time it was inside the warranty so Lenovo of course obliged to fix this piece of junk but now that it is 10 days out of the warranty and it will not power on again they want to charge me to have them fix what they should have fix just a couple months ago. I URGE YOU NOT TO BUY THIS COMPUTER. If you do buy it make sure you buy an extended warranty if you want it to last more than a year. And I would recommend GEEKSQUAD, not Lenovo's coverage. They don't deserve any more money for their piece of you know what product.

Next, it would not allow us to get on the d*mn thing. Took it back, On Monday, 2 days later, BestBuy charged us $50. WE ARE DONE WITH THAT COMPANY!!!

Bought this back in April 2015. This computer can often be very slow. Touchpad is sometimes unresponsive. I had problems with a prior Lenovo years ago, should have known better.

Would you like a 486 PC? Here is one for ya!

Do you miss the days of the 486 PCs? Where things would render slow and nice and you would spin yourself in your chair until everything would show up on your display? Yep! They are back! And there could be nothing more like this one. Do you like 1200RPM hard disks? They are back! It spins very nice too, and gives you a sound when ever it starts up! Woah! Do you love your webpages to slow down when you are changing them too fast, yes here is the laptop for you! Slow and nice! ....This computer is a no sense computer. Not only does it fail at any task because they did not think about how to put the hardware together, there is actually little you can do on here. Even opening eMail does not actually work because the CPU does not even handle it. . The computer wastes away easily too because its meant to be a tablet but they sticked a mechanical hard drive in it! Wonderful. You move it, your done, and when you move it, listen to the lovely hard drive park sounds it does. Laptop`s display is like of that of a Windows XP tablet Bill Gates first hold up in 2002. This computer even can not be typed on because the keyboard is flimsy and the palm area is covered in VERY THIN, very thin, painted foil material. No fans on this one, so you will get those 486 speeds out of the box! The 4GBs of memory on this computer will choke it to death, because the hard disk is so sad and bad, that the poor computer can not even find virtual memory to breathe onto because it spins so slow, that it will grind to a halt. It could even explode! So get this PC while you can! It`s i486 quality!

    LOVE IT!!!!

I needed a laptop for high school so my dad got me this lenovo. I REALLY love it! It is really easy to use, and I love how great it is to watch movies on:D. My only complaint is that sometimes it says that in 15 minutes it will shut down. So you can either turn it off then or wait until it shuts down on its own.... My sister has the same laptop and hers does that too. Besides that little flaw I really enjoy my laptop!

Dual Band WIFi NOT supported= Slow Wifi

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was surprised that Best Buy would even sell a laptop in the $399 price range that doesn't come equipped with a modern Wifi Card. In order to get fast speeds which most people have at home these days you need the Dual Band card, that means you can get on a 4G or 5G capable router. To me this makes the laptop useless.

    Not happy with this computer

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this computer because I loved the versatility of it. . It is a full laptop with a nice keyboard that converts to a tablet but on using it further I'm not happy with its performance. I have a hard time getting onto public WIFIs and then when I do get on, I get kicked off constantly even after checking the "Connect Automatically". It is very bothersome. I was told by the salesperson that I would have no problem streaming videos, etc. It has a processor 3. I have not been able to view a video clean through without it stopping and starting. Most annoying. I would not recommend this product to anyone. I am thinking of going back to my old computer which I have kept and selling this one on eBay or giving it away to a student who doesn't have the money to buy their own computer. But I'm not sure I would want to give them this product.

I just bought this laptop for school and it is so much faster than my hp 2 in 1 laptop. So loving it. No freezing, no glitches, no stalling in computer system. I am glad I switched.

Lots of Updates, Freeze ups and generally too slow

Much poorer performance than the laptop it replaced. It just seems SLOWWWWW. And there are lots of updates that never seem to be finished. It takes a good 30 seconds to come back from a lock screen and a couple minutes to cOme back from Sleep. I had to disable a lot of the options to reconfigure the display because they popped up when I was working due to incidental contact with the touch pad. I can tolerate this laptop but I can't like it.

We wanted to love this notebook. The demo model in the store seemed awesome. Small, light, great screen, etc. We bought one TODAY, brought it home, plugged in and about the time my wife completes the setup process.....the screen went blank and the unit is completely bricked.. No response, doesn't matter what we do. It will not respond or re boot. Just a black screen. SERIOUSLY.... We have had this home less than an HOUR..Happy New Year Lenovo... Back to Best Buy you go tomorrow.

    Lousy hardware combination

The i5 quad-core processor is a waste of money. Most of the time it is idle and few programs use the full capabilities of the multiple cores. As soon as a core is maxed out, the fan kicks in. That's when you know your battery life is being degraded. What really kills this machine is the 4GB of RAM. Forget it. You must get 8GB or you are just wasting your money.

    Really wanted to like it

I really wanted to like this computer. I love the 2 in 1 design. It's very sleek and lightweight. But the wifi connectivity is TERRIBLE. I thought it was the computer at first so I returned it for another one but same problem! It would drop or say I had limited connectivity when there was nothing wrong with the wifi connection. I researched the problem and found that it was common with the Lenovo Yoga. I look through many forums with advice and solutions to try to fix it but nothing really worked. Sadly I returned it.

    Annoying

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First, I am really bummed to see how much cheaper this is being sold for now, but I had to purchase a new unit as my old laptop was 3/4 dead. I like the versatility of a touch screen and very necessary keyboard. I needed a Windows platform to support my business documents. I got a virus in the first week and had to purchase Kapersky (which now comes free with this product) and the latest Office suite. There are many annoyances - it flips to other screens constantly, the touch is hit or miss as is the pointer at times, the touch keyboard pops up when I use touch screen to tab between fill boxes (like this),it will randomly highlight a full page and I will have to close it to get it to stop, the touchpad is too sensitive and zooms out or down just scrolling or if my wrist hits it. I guess the other part of this is Windows 8, which I hate. Overall I am not thrilled with this product, but did not have much choice trying to get the features I need and want in something lighter than a full sized laptop for less than $1,000.00.

    Multiple Problems

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

My unit has multiple issues and failings. The wifi card is extremely weak. As an example, in one corner of the house other laptops get close to full strength and throughput. The Yoga has one bar on wifi strength and manages a meager 1 Mbps throughput. But that's when it's working. About 1 in 5 times that I boot the computer, the wifi doesn't find the driver and I have to use Device Manager to re-install the driver. Then there is the touchpad. It has poor touch sensitivity and doesn't respond to taps consistently. Two-finger tap doesn't work unless you make registry changes. The Laptop is also extremely slow, pimarily because of the disk drive. Lenovo should have put a hybrid drive in. The keyboard is nothing to brag about either. Although the keys seem to have that nice Lenovo feel, there is too much flex in the keyboard and the keys don't respond consistently to the same pressure tap. This is one of the worst laptops I have encountered in years.

Purchased for my wife Christmas 2014. Takes 5 mins to boot sometimes. Flips screens constantly. Will barely connect to internet. Search just keeps spinning. This is the first review I've ever taken the time to write. But I am so upset, this is a good way to vent. We are taking this one back for sure.

Have had this laptop less than a year and hate it. The screen will occasionally freeze, sometimes it will not even turn on (already took it in for this reason) and now the back is falling off and won't go back on unless you hold it in place resulting in it not charging. Waste of money!!!!

I've owned my Lenovo Yoga 2 for about 18 months. Incredibly poor battery performance. I tracked it today - over 2.5 hours of light use (Excel and Word), I was down to 10% life. And that's total time, I actually had it off for 45 minutes during that timeframe. Poor product.

Purchase the computer because I thought that of the good reviews of the product, however, once I got it, the computer would constantly freeze, took it to best buy, the refresh the OS, but the problem continue, I research online, and a lot users of this line of laptops, have the same problem. I would stay away, from this yoga line, maybe the other lines might have no factories defects as the yoga line.
