Windows 8 64-bit runs beautifully on it. The solid state drive is very responsive. The keyboard has a nice feel and the display is wonderful. Also, battery life is excellent. Very pleased!

Fast, good battery life, nice screen

After a lot of research, I settled on this little 13in laptop. I've been using this for over a year and it has been very reliable. The screen is beautiful and sharp, the flip mechanism is the icing on the cake. Its convenient to prop it up in all different positions whenever I might take the thing -- on the road, in the kitchen, or reading in bed. The battery life is decent, approximately 6 hours of normal use for me, not the 9 hours as advertised. I consider normal use as browsing the internet, reading books, checking emails, and watching a few youtube videos. It is incredibly thin and light, which takes up virtually no space on my desk when closed. I love that I can tuck it away anywhere. A few minor quirks: 1. the "backspace" button on the keyboard is too small, so I always end up pressing the "home" button that Lenovo placed next to the "backspace." Not a huge deal, but its annoying. If you type a lot, this keyboard might take some getting used to. 2. The high resolution display is amazing, but some websites have not adjusted their settings yet, so sometimes text are so small that you need a magnifying glass to read. 3. The touchpad is not really good. I have had many laptops before and I never had an issue with the touchpads. However, it is difficult to highlight or select items to drag and drop. Maybe its me, or just my machine, but I even have difficulty selecting an open window to drag somewhere else on the screen using the touchpad. It usually takes several tries to get the item to select and drag. I have just resorted to using my external mouse, and using only the touchpad occasionally for simple tasks. 4. When the laptop is flipped to the tablet position, the touchpad clicks when touched, and bothers me more than the touching of the keyboard, which makes no noise. Again, not a huge deal, but all these minor issues takes away a star from a perfect rating for this fast and light machine.

    Great for Student

This laptop is great! I read a review where the person said the laptop was on sale and they were able to get a student discount as well. So I did some research, it was still on sale and I got my student discount. I was able to get the laptop around $600, which put this amazing piece of technology right in my budget. Thanks whoever you are! It did slow down on me while using the internet, but it was completely my fault, I downloaded google chrome and it lagged while I was watching videos. When I switched to Internet Explorer, it worked like a charm! The screen is really clear, to the point where I can do all my work without my glasses. I love the way the keypad feels. The back light on the keyboard was a big plus since I like working at night. I never cared for the touch screen feature in a laptop, but I seem to be reaching for the screen each time I need to click on something or scroll down the page. Besides not having access to the apps I love, its great!

    Basic Starter for College

Pros: I like the flexibility of the laptop and touchscreen applications. Cons: I don't like Windows 8 (live and learn), because Microsoft wants to copy from their smartphone to the computer (bad idea). Windows 7 was easier to use without no problem. HDMI mini port is a bit distasteful, because HDMI use standard size male port. I might have to buy a adapter for it. Graphics is somewhat good to me, because I'm between a gamer and a college student. The mouse pad is a bit hard to get used to; with more functions, the controls flips me back and forth between the start screen and desktop. Changes I want: Change OS (Operating System) to Windows 7 or the new one (Windows 9). Upgrade-able graphic cards for laptops will be nice. Giving the additional programs an option for the user (giving more free space).

So I had an Asus which I did like until i stepped on the screen and broke it. So I needed a new laptop and after returning 4 to best buy i finally bought this one and i have had it for a month and absolutely love it. The screen is much brighter than my Asus and moves much faster. It is well worth the price.

Overall a wonderful laptop. I'm planning to use it for college this fall, and so far it looks like it's going to be perfect. Just a couple of notes: *I initially had problems connecting to my home wifi network. This was remedied fairly quickly by calling Lenovo support, which was very helpful, and fiddling around with drivers. *It does not come with a stylus. *It's very light; I'm a nerdy girl who never works out, and I can comfortably carry it around with one hand for long periods of time. *I initially had hesitations about Windows 8 (long time Win 7 user), but it's lovely with a touch screen.' *I haven't tried playing any video games, but I imagine it'll do fairly well. *Battery life seems good. *It's very, very fast.

I absolutely love my Lenovo and the touchscreen capability. I don't use it as a tablet. I think the screen is too large to be used as a tablet but it is the ideal laptop. I use it mainly for school purposes. It's light to carry and the light up keyboard is big help for those late night homework assignments.

I had high hopes for this computer. Unfortunately, I was let down by several things once I got it home. The screen was gorgeous, aside from the backlight bleeding from all the edges. It was very noticeable on the bottom especially. I could not "unsee" it once I knew it was there, and it was very distracting when watching videos. For just browsing or using the desktop it was hardly noticeable. Second, is the very poor wifi signal. My dad's $300 Dell inspiron and his Dell Tablet both get 150mbps in my room, where this thing was struggling to get 26mbps or so, and very rarely got above 30mbps. Also, I do not like that it only has a micro HDMI port instead of a full size one and the SD card slot does not allow the sd card to slide all the way in, so it is sticking out about 3/4 of an inch when plugged it. (I knew both of these things before I bought it, but the other issues led me to return it the next day.) Like, I said, I had heard good things about lenovo and the reviews on this one were good, but believe it or not, I found the negative reviews to ring true for me at least (especially about the backlight bleeding and the poor wifi signal). It's not a terrible computer, but I would not recommend it.

Proprietary, but descent laptop.. Even Windows8.1

Screen and weight are nice. I would have given this a 5 star, but I dropped the laptop after a month and shattered screen. BB, GeekSq, Lenovo were all difficult and made different promises. I felt I paid a lot of money for this ($850.), but wanted an estimate. GS came back with $675.00 plus, lenovo said I had to pay $90.00 for estimate, but couldnt quote a screen replacement price to simply buy. So here is the rub, laptops nowadays are more fragile and becoming non upgradeable. Lenovo's are soldered memory like Apple so stuck with it. I thought I could use memory and hard drive in a cheaper DDR3 laptop but I cant remove memory. Also picky with micro-HDMI cable. Some would have audio and some flat out not. Lenovo blames the cable but cant recommend a type to use. Lastly all the marketing. Dont need it so I removed the intrusive apps from MSFT and Lenovo. Often I found this messed up OS marriage and would recover back to default OS again. This is a pain and all in all just fails the whole OS experience vs. privacy. MSFT"s Windows 8.1 is okay. I learned the "search" method is practical. Never new it before bc I'm a mouse and pc guy as opposed to a keyboard user. I've started using keyboard more which is better. Also, turned off other marketing and found 8.1 okay, but looking fwd to Windows10 upgrade. Its a good laptop, just dont drop it. Lesson learned. Other manufacturers were not the most desired in component features.

This is a fast, elegant device with superior build quality. The 1080 resolution is stunning (though I recommend setting the font scaling to 100%). It's also immune to the problems plaguing the more expensive Yoga 2 Pro (greenish yellows, spotty wifi). Also, the description doesn't mention it, but this laptop has a backlit keyboard. For me that is an indispensable feature. The keyboard is typical Lenovo, which means it's the most comfortable, natural typing experience you'll find.

I purchased this laptop about a month ago and was extremely excited about all it's cool features. I liked that it was touchscreen and could be used in tablet mode. It was just what I was looking for in terms of size, as it's sleek design makes it easy for me to carry around. However, it is really bothersome. The laptop is constantly heating up, while I am only browsing the web and has really loud fans. I can't use it at my school's library because of how loud it gets. Also the charger gets super hot when I use it. And last but not least, the cursor will suddenly disappear when switching back to laptop mode after using it on tablet mode. Apperently, this is a commin issue with this model. Iv'e tried using the tricks that others suggest, but they don't always work. Right now as I type this, the cursor is gone. I managed to make it reappear, but then the clicker wouldn't work. Now the arrow is gone again. I don't feel like I should be have so many issues with a product that I've just bought. I only wish I could have realized it sooner so that I could have returned it. Oh well,

I am a senior in college and I wanted a laptop that was light weight, fast and had a good battery life. I have found all of these things to be true about the Yoga 2. The battery is absolutely incredible compared to my old laptop and the speed is everything I need as an physics major with a concentration in education. The tablet feature is especially nice when I am in class and we have to get up and move around and share things on our laptops. I would recommend this laptop to any college student. I honestly have no complaints besides the windows app store being incredibly inadequate. You will not be disappointed in this product.

I had this Lenovo for almost 2 weeks so we are at the point of no returns (almost). It looks like I'll keep it and pay the piper 12 months 0%. I used student discount and paid $750.00. The unit has gone up in price by $50 so I feel like a winner by paying $200 less than retail. I have no major problems. I returned a $700 Toshiba to BestBuy and picked this up. great Salesman at Charlotte Midtown Store.

I just bought it today for my daughter at BestBuy local store at Overland Park, KS and I compare it with my MacAir and it seems it's better than MacAir. It's faster than my MacBook Air. My daughter like to paint so she can use this and also it's lighter than MacBook Air. I was tempt to buy Surface but comparing the hard disk space of Surface Pro 3 to this, I choose this because it has 128SSD drive. Also, I bought this for lesser than the sale price because I have a Student Email address but you need to buy it until Sept 9 2014 because that's the last day of the education discount. If you have questions, you can comment at my post and I will try to reply as soon as I can.

I have only owned this 2 in 1 for a few days but so far so good. I have had NO wireless issues like others have so I assume Lenovo has fixed that problem. The screen is quite nice and easy to use in tablet mode, the keyboard is not flimsy at all and feels very durable. The battery life is as advertised, the fan does run most of the time but is not nearly as annoying as others have stated. The one and only thing I would like to see different is a larger SSD, but if I was really concerned I should have purchased the next model up.
