Originally tried to go cheap with a machine that had similar specs with a poor quality screen. This blows it away. Bought for my Daughter who preferred the 2 in 1 w Touchscreen over an air book (I trained her right :)) . She feels like it is both a tablet and a PC. You get so much more for your $$$ here. Everything works great so far. Also got a price adjustment when it went on sale a few days later which is also great.

Great laptop for a good price

Very sleek-looking laptop, good price, plus i got a nice student discount so it ended up being about $750. Nice-feeling backlit keyboard, vibrant and responsive touchscreen display. The convertible laptop modes (eg. stand, tent) have more uses than you'd think, such as watching movies and managing presentations. Not very many ports and no optical drive due to it being an ultrabook. Lots of junkware to uninstall, but overall very happy with my purchase.

I was skeptical of the smaller screen, but am adapting to it. Very good screen resolution, so that helps. Computer is real fast. Boots up quick. Love the solid state drive. I haven't used the "yoga" portion of the laptop, but I'm sure I'll like it when I do utilize it. Great computer. Good price.

    A night mare

I bought Lenovo Yoga211 and it has problem connecting to the network. After million calls to the Lenovo customer support it was revealed to me that the network driver is wrong as it keeps asking me to plug in the network wire despite the fact that there was no slot for the network wire. One of their tech guy helped me to reinstall the new driver. After automatic windows updates it turned back to original software. I called many time to Lenovo customer support and they wanted me to buy their premium support despite the fact that the laptop is only few months old. No one from the software support returned my call. I have wasted huge amount of time calling their customer support. If you are student and want to finish your assignment, it is never going to work at the time you need it the most. I would never recommend Lenovo to anyone even if it is given for free. You will loose your precious time calling to the customer support and they never help you.

    Great computer/tablet for everyday use

I've had this computer for 3 days. So far, I really like it. I am getting the hang of Win 8.1 quickly. The computer was easy to set up and is quite fast especially compared to my former computer. I am thrilled with the light weight, sleek design. I am disappointed in the speakers. For the money I paid for this computer a better sound system was expected. I bought an external CD/DVD drive, as this computer doesn't have one (Where would you put it?) and I know I will need it. I am concerned about only having 128GB hard drive, but an external drive solves that. Overall, I really like the computer. It would be a fantastic computer for a college student or for everyday use.

Really nice machine. It is fast, durable, good battery life. My only concern is the fact that it smudges quite easily with fingerprints. Its tolerable and worth the discounted price compared to the yoga 2 pro.

Overall, the laptop is light weight and has not given me any issues. BUT keep in mind, the laptop only supports 2.4GHZ which to me is a deal killer unless you don't mind slower wifi speeds.

I was looking to buy a 2-in-1 13" laptop with touch screen, full HD screen and SSD. This was certainly the best option and quite possibly the only option within the price range. You cannot go wrong with this!

    Great idea but poor product

I bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro i7 8 gb RAM in 11/2013 and really liked it. However, over the next year, it became unreliable (freezing or shutting off or rebooting during use) and it needed to be sent to the Texas support department for repairs, including replacements of the heat sink and battery, fixing the USB2 port and the bluetooth card, and in October 2014, replacing the "mainboard and audioboard".  Six months later, and out of warranty, the computer refused to awaken from sleep, cycling power and keyboard lights on and then off again and with the Restore button unresponsive.  Lenovo service department techs could only conclude that it would need to be sent to them (or to Best Buy's Geek Squad) to be checked, with the likeliness of it being the the motherboard at a cost of $300-400 plus shipping - there is no guarantee that the problems won't redevelop in another six months. According to IT, the motherboard does not carry it's own one year warranty. Rethink a purchase of this computer – this one has multiple reviewers on multiple sites with similar (and different) problems.

Boots up very quick. Will be buying a few more for my business. Only downside is that it is running on Windows 8. Will wait to purchase more when Windows 10 comes out.

Just right for a home business

Purchased this laptop and a second monitor for a cross over computer to do home business (basically word processing) and personal computing. The flexibility to unplug the laptop and to use as a tablet is just what I was looking for. I purchased a speaker system to supplement the sound but it really isn't needed. Good sound quality when using as a tablet. One drawback was the lack of an internal cd/dvd drive. Bought an external one and the computer system now meets all my needs.

    Total Waste of Money

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I should have known when Best Buy shipped my computer to me and it showed up with a malfunctioning keyboard what I was in store for. It was refurbished so I chalked it up to that and after I had to pay the extra money for a new one they replaced it. That was 4 months ago and it has been one problem after another. First the screen cracked. I know what you are thinking but I am 27 years old and know how to handle electronics. It ha hardly ever left the house and when it has I used my official lenovo yoga 2 case. I have not the slightest idea how or why it cracked but it did. It was a small crack and off to the side so I stuck with it. Then the touch screen went out. I did my research and found this to be a common problem and had to refresh Windows (delete all the programs I downloaded) to get it to work again. Then the battery went out. So now I have a 4 month old $800+ laptop that I can't unplug and use for school and work like I bought it for. I think I would rather just buy the cheap heavy laptops and replace them every year than deal with this horrible product.

I am not a technology savvy person at all but I absolutely LOVE my Yoga 2. It took me awhile to grasp the use after having a 2008 monster of a Toshiba for years but once I got updated on all the new ways to use my new laptop I will never go back to another brand. I have never had any issues with anything the other reviewers have complained about and I have had it for over a year.

Very nice and versatile for college freshman

My daughter, who is a freshman in college, loves this computer for its portability and versatility. It boots up very fast and the touch screen is nice and the picture is great. At first she wasn't sure about Windows 8 but now she's ok with it. Only drawback is only 2 usb ports and no drive for disc, but that is ok as we already had a small disc drive which you could plug into a laptop. All in all a good purchase.

My everyday computer. Great for school! Incredibly happy with my purchase. I bought the sleeve with it and while it's not for the same MODEL so the ports don't all line up it still fits beautifully that adds the EXTRA protection to the keyboard when used in tablet mode or just a sleeve for carrying the device. Get the sleeve if you buy this product.

Pinterest not being the the app store is my only complaint. The smaller keyboard it a little hard to get used to but it takes some time. It works great and the battery life is really good. Easy to carry around. Sound is great how how small it is. Great for the price! with the $150 off with the student discount it was worth it!

I love this laptop so much. it boots up in seconds, it has great apps that i didn't think i would use but i did. Not a big fan of the app store because it takes too long to install an app. it's very light, not too big and not to small. No hard drive fan noise, touch screen, Back-lit keyboard. Overall this laptop is GREAT!

    Fan Noise is Absurd

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This would be the best laptop I have ever owned but the fan noise is really bad. I am currently in Law School and the computer is by the loudest in the class. Furthermore the computer noise in a small quiet space such as a cubicle in the library the noise almost renders the computer worthless. Tried lenovo support and they were highly ineffective in solving my issues. I have read several blogs of hundreds of people that seem to have the same issue. Until there is an upgrade or you work in an extremely loud environment do not buy this computer. Without the noise the machine is excellent. Tablet functionality is great for commuter trains.

    Look elsewhere wifi doesn't work

I can count on one hand the number of reviews I've posted but I'm so disappointed in this product I wanted to steer others clear. The wifi on this device is so bad that it borders on absurd that it made it through any sort of reasonable product testing process. It routinely drops out on my home network. I can't connect to my iphone wifi at all although I have figured out how to use the bluetooth to connect to the iphone as an access point. Moreover, when I can keep a wifi connection it's slower than any other device on my home network. I feel like I've been sold a car with three tires. Presently I'm planning to replace the wifi card based on various online suggestions. I wish I could say this is an anomaly but a quick internet search shows a lot of traffic on this issue on various forums.
