not the easiest keyboard to use. appreciate the light weightness. still getting used to windows 8.1. Do like the touchscreen but be sure to use with clean hand. if don't about weight, can save several hundred dollars and choose another option with the same power, speed, etc.

This new technology, a combination of laptop and table features makes this a great alternative to traditional laptops. Light, fast, easy to learn and transition from old technology.

I spent a lot of time agonizing over the Surface vs the Yoga. Ultimately, it seemed if you want a tablet first that doubles as a laptop, the Surface is the choice. If you want a laptop that doubles as a tablet, the Yoga is the choice. I needed a laptop, so I went with the Yoga. I travel for work almost weekly, so portability was a big factor.
1 month later, this is one of the best purchases I've made in a while. Very pleased overall.

My Toshiba laptop crashed while the BIOS was updating. When it restarted it perpetually stayed on the load screen; in other words I had a light piece of metal scraps. I began looking at other light laptops and tablets. I considered the Toshiba Z series, but given what happened with my last laptop, I stayed away. I looked into the Macbook Air, but the design didn't quite resonate with me. Then I saw the price of this laptop and thought I'd look into it. After reading numerous reviews online I went into the store to evaluate the screen, which is amazing, and the weight when converted into tablet mode. Overall, I agree with many of the previous reviews--this is best used as a laptop with the occasional tablet use as it is slightly heavy to hold for an extended amount of time. However, what I've found myself doing is utilizing it's other Yoga angles so I don't have to hold it. The performance is in line with other windows 8 laptops, namely shockingly fast. The keyboard is standard Lenovo build, which is to say it's amazing. Overall, though this is slightly pricier than other laptops you can find on the market nowadays, it's combination of performance, screen resolution, and multiple yoga views/tablet mode make it a great buy.

Overall this laptop is exactly what I was waiting for. I put off getting a laptop for 6 months because I was waiting for something that met the criteria that this meets. The computer is sleek, light and fast. The resolution is excellent, but can at times make things a little bit difficult if you don't have 20/20 vision. Good thing it supports pinch zooming. The different modes work well. Although I think the modes are probably more of a novelty than anything else, I do occasionally flip it as a tablet when I am laying back in a recliner, or use tent mode to watch a video while cooking in the kitchen. It is a nice additional feature as long as you like this laptop as a laptop first and foremost. I have found Windows 8 surprisingly useful considering the stories that I have heard about it. I usually run linux on my computers, but in this case, that would eliminate a lot of functionality from the yoga, so I will continue to work with Windows, at least for a little while.
My other complaint would be the keyboard. It seems like lenovo has not done anything out of the ordinary here, but I am just not getting used to the overall layout. It is basically like a Mac keyboard without the command key, and flipping the Fn/Ctrl keys. The keyboard is great for typing, just some positional quirks and finger acrobatics that I have not gotten down yet.
I have tried install Ubuntu on it, and it seemed to work just fine as a plain old laptop, but this is another place that the resolution bites you. The icons and text are impossibly small to read. I am sure that something can be done, but I have not had the time to look into it.
Aside from any complaints, I do like the laptop. It is far and away better than anything that I have looked at when you consider the features, size and price. Every other laptop seemed to skimp on something, but the Yoga 2 seems to have it all - assuming that's what you want.

It boots in about 20 seconds or less..They made a version with a 512gb DDR, but you could only order it from Lenovo.com
The automatic screen brightness is the 1st thing to turn off..it is horrible and constantly changes (multiple times a minute) Tough screen works great.
The battery does not last as long as they claim..if normal work, you may get 5 to 6 hours. movies even less.
Very lite laptop and the flip screen is pretty cool!

I really like everything about this laptop except that it has Windows 8. The learning curve is steep imo. Once I get the hang of it it should be okay. The keypad can be flipped around to the back of the screen and the touch screen works well. I like that it has the feel of a tablet.

I really enjoy using this little workhorse. I would recommend for small hands...the key placement is perfect for me. Love the backlit keyboard for easy access. Enjoy the sound quality and the different modes for the display panel. There are some features that I still need to explore to use this baby to the fullest!

I was contemplating switching to a Mac. I compared the specs and the commercial is accurate, the YOGA surpasses the Mac in the specs that were important to me at a great price. The keyboard is well-built and has a nice feel. I love the Tablet view especially for writing on documents. I haven't played around with all the features as yet but so far the functionality is great. My only negative is the short battery life.

Buyers!!! If you plan on connecting via HDMI read below.
Micro HDMI port is very deep or I guess you could say the the housing has a protective layer that adds to the insertion depth. The Rocket Fish mirco HDMI to HDMi cable has a metal housing that stops the cable from making a connection. I had to purchase a cable that has a rubber plug so I could shave off about an 1/8 inch to make it reach the terminals.
Otherwise Super fast and great laptop.

I love how light-weight and portable it is. But it is also fast and powerful. I was afraid that it would be hard to get used to the smaller screen and keyboard, but it hasn't been a problem at all.

It's a great PC handles all my needs (coding, streaming, etc.)
The different modes are actually useful. The keyboard is great once you get used to it though the mouse pad is a little finicky. Windows 8 still needs some fixing.
The only issue I found was with the high resolution screen, some programs run really small because of it. There are simple fixes for that.

Easy to use the touch screen and coupled with a mouse it meets my needs for a 3D engineering computer. AND when I have the time it is a good engine for playing games.

The specs on this computer are very powerful for its size and price. Love the solid state hard drive. I would not consider any computer without one. 256 MG size is probably minimum for most general users. It is convenient that the keyboard folds all the way back out of the way when you wish to use touch input only for games, etc. The touch response is not as sensitive as I am used to on my iPad, but I suppose I am spoiled by that. The keyboard is full size, but I am finding a learning curve to its touch. The touch pad is excellent. The sound is surprisingly robust for such a small package. If you are looking for a powerful computer in a compact size for a reasonable price, this is it!
