best computer I've ever had
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got mine from BestBuy...been using it for 2 weeks now. No wifi issues. No fan issues. No nothing issues. The yellow is off a bit, but its not that big of a deal. The resolution is eye popping and the speed is fast x2. This is my 6th laptop and 3rd lenovo. I can honestly say its the best computer I've ever had.

Seems great specs but misses on some details
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could overlook a number of minor nuisances with the Yoga Pro 2, the quality of the mushy keys, the lack of a dual band wireless, difficult operation of the buttons on the side. I was seduced by that super high 3200x1800 display. But after a month or so of use I found that a Hi-res displays by itself does not make a great computer. Programs like Photoshop and other programs that have not been written to take advantage of such hi-res display render their menus and requesters so small that they are impossible to read. Now this may be a fault with the Windows operating system or it may be a fault with the application, however it negates the reason to have the hi-res display since you have to set the screen resolution at half the maximum just to read the menus. Then there is the poor rendering of the color yellow caused by the screen technology makes the Yoga Pro 2 unsuitable of photo and art work. The screen will not work with a pressure sensitive stylus like other recent tablets. And then finally I find that the I7 is only the dual core model, not the quad core. This last item makes me feel kinda cheated.

Was exactly what I was looking for and needed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a MacBook for 5 years and it was time for a new laptop. Was not sure if I wanted laptop or tablet until I found this. I have a desktop for gaming and after looking into this product I was extremely happy it could do everything I wanted it to do. Very powerful laptop packed into a small package.

need some work but good design
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen resolution is good if you are in Metro. If you are forced to the desktop for programs like all of Microsoft office the text and icons are ridiculously small. The only way to get around this is to dumb down the resolution so the icons and text are bigger (yes I tried making them as large as possible without dumbing down the resolution). The wifi card in this thing will not see 5g bands of dual band routers. Lenovo support admitted this to me. putting in an inferior wifi card is hard to understand with a high end ultra portable laptop. Yellow is not right on this screen. Plug in another monitor to the laptop and compare. you will see what I mean. Yellow mustard shows like deli mustard. However, I love the form factor of this thing and the price so I am modifying with an AC capable wifi card and i just dumb down the resolution which is still over HD even dumbed down. May be no way to fix the yellow issue though.

Nothing but issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this computer for it's size and weight for travel...which is great but other then that this laptop is horrible. In the 8 days I've owned it I've had nothing but issues. Problems installing a program as well as WiFi issues. This laptop does not come with an ethernet port so if WiFi isn't working there's no way to connect to the Internet to update or hAve a support rep help by remotely connecting. It will be returned first thing in the morning.

Love it!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had no issues. I use it mostly for movies and music but I also have to be able to do homework and it has been pretty seamless. I agree with other posts in regards to screen resolution, yes it is not completely compatible for all programs but when it comes to movies it is pretty darn good. I like that I can use it as a tablet with out having to detach anything. I am a pretty basic user so I cannot speak for more intensive users. I had my last laptop for 6 years. I think this will definitely hold up for that long especially with having an external drive for all my extra programs and pics and music. I love that there is no start up it just turns on. Instant gratification.

great deal, performance issues in other modes
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this last week and have had a great experience with it so far. I only have a couple of concerns: in any mode other than the laptop mode, the performance of the laptop goes down significantly. For example, if you're watching an HD video on the tablet mode compared to the laptop mode, the video will start to stutter much more often. the display is good but that is of no use when most of the apps don't use the 1880 resolution. This actually looks bad on the display whereas on any other display you wouldn't notice that.

Fantastic
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The laptop is excellent as a whole. It is ultraportable, fast, and the screen is awesome. My only minor complaint is that the yellow color of the screen is a little off. It is more darker than it should be, but that problem is insignificant compared to the entire product.

This trackpad will make you crazy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The trackpad of a computer is still a vital component to overall usability and using this one will make you want to throw the entire system out the window. So many good things about this computer especially the display goes to waste because this trackpad makes you crazy. That is all I have to say. Because frankly all us doesn't matter because this one huge hindrance is really really bad.

Good machine but plagued with issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning my Yoga 2 Pro and was very sad about doing it. I really wanted to like this machine. Like most Haswell machines, it is plagued by dodgy wifi connectivity and like all Windows 8 machines, it is terrible at scaling to make the best use of the display's high resolution. Sometimes it does not rescale when restarting from standby and even when it does it takes too much time. The battery life is fair, nowhere near my i7 Haswell Macbook Air. Lenovo is falling further and further behind in design and specs for the price and this machine was a nice change from that but was ultimately a letdown. Oh...the sound was the best I have ever heard in a portable machine until the day it decided to quit on me. The touch pad was pretty awful, too. I bought this to replace an Asus UX31A. I tried a Sony Vaio Pro 11. It was utter junk. Then I tried a Dell XPS 12. Just as bad. This was the best of the bunch but I ended up sticking with my older Asus machine. I have owned a ton of portable machines in the last 20 years and have a lot of experience with them.

Best bang for the buck
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best laptop/tablet on the market period...it's very fast attractive...the build is solid, and the screen is absolutely gorgeous. Not sure how some of you guys can complain, the next laptop with similar specs costs hundreds more. There's not much difference in performance between the i7 and i5 version...but comes time for me to sell this later on, 10000 more people will buy this decked out one versus an i5.

4th Y2P and it's also broken
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been through four of these laptops all within a week. The first Y2P had a failing SSD, the second had a broken screen, the third had a busted CPU fan, and the fourth has a broken sound card! This computer is the best value on the market, and the screen is beautiful. But there are only two conclusions that lead to the issue I have ran into. Either my local BB has dropped and miss handled almost all of their Y2P (or at least enough that I could receive four broken laptops in a row). Alternatively Lenovo has sent out a bad batch of laptops. I don't care either way. It's enough for me to not care any longer about trying to get a nice laptop. I'm returning this broken thing for the fourth and final time and getting my money back.

love this machine
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is fast and flexible, i use it for presentations with clients, i just flip it into tent mode and gesture to run ppts, then stand mode for yoga and tablet mode to use with my treadmill, finally laptop mode to work; beautiful display, feels nice and big, the only thing that bugs me is that the resolution is so good the text is super small... yeah, i know i can change it but then certain dialog boxes get cut off, but i can live with that for all its other awesome qualities... love love love this little machine!

A display without yellow
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is so close to a perfect laptop. But it comes with a complete deal breaker. The display shows gorgeous colors, but it can't show proper yellow! This is a known issue, but even after applying the "fix" from Lenovo's website the yellow is still heavily tinted towards green. I actually first noticed it when the Best Buy website logo looked like pea soup. I showed it to my friends and they couldn't believe other people are saying that this is "ok" or "good enough". It's frankly awful. Fact is, this laptop should never have been released to market. Things like having older wifi (bgn vs ac) can be overlooked, especially at this price point. But releasing a screen that is missing an entire color is unacceptable.

Definitely Worth The Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this computer for about a month now and so far it has been awesome, the battery has been better than any computer I've ever owned. I use it in the tablet mode more than I thought I would, it makes me extremely happy I got it with the SSD. I also purchased it to operate with an external monitor, connecting and disconnecting is easy. It's also doing wireless printing and scanning which was also easy to setup. I was definitely trying to buy without Windows 8 but I wouldn't go back now that I'm used to it. It's a great size, great weight, and very versatile.

The product exceeded my expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was looking for a good performance and light product with at least 256GB of memory. At first I was a little disappointed with some more money I could bought a Macbook air, but now I am pretty satisfaid with the product and the performance. Before buy the product I didn't realize how it is great the tent mode. The tablet mode is not so great, but it works for light tablet users.

Really is a yoga 2 'home edition' not 'pro'
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Waited long time, finally bought the yoga 2 pro. Today trying to get Remote Desktop going. Finally figured out only works in Windows 8.1 professional. Either I have to cough up $100 or take it back and wait some more. My mistake I guess but I would have thought a 'pro' PC would come with a 'pro' operating system. Don't make the same mistake I did.

Great performance, poor display
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Yoga 2 has serious issues with its new display matrix. It cannot represent yellow properly; it's got a sinister greenish hue that can't be tuned out, despite a putative fix via a BIOS update that was recently offered. Google it and you'll find enormous threads with frustrated users. The screen also has significant ghosting patches (though YMMV on that). If you're not too particular about color, no problem, this is a tremendous laptop otherwise. Just be prepared to say goodbye to yellow and hello to chartreuse. The first Yoga model has a vastly superior display despite its sub-HD resolution.
