Just Recently purchased works Amazingly and fast the multi-mode is incredible, the screen being yellowish isn't noticeable to me all in all it's awesome I want to recommend it and use it... The problem is the wireless card is bad plain and simple it does not connect or stay connected to wifi routers if this is ever fixed/patched in an update from Lenovo the value here is irreplaceable

I bought this for a replacement of my lenovo think pad that I had great luck with. This one has a poor track pad, which I read in several reviews. mine does not take the left or right bottom click buttons. Lenovo software also installed spyware which has since come into light. the computer cant figure out what mode it is in. things like the touchscreen wont work in tablet mode

    Poor hardware assembly

I recently purchased a Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 2 Pro - 59418309 Convertible 2-in-1 Laptop from Best Buy and had issues straight out of the box. The first one had an internet connectivity issue and I returned it back to the store and received replacement number two. Number two had a defective hard drive (Lenovo tech support) determined the problem) and that was returned to the store. Number three (Lenovo tech support) had a problem with the back lighted key board that would not turn on and I returned it and gave up on the product. I really like the size, performance and screen on the computer but I felt that Lenovo, after three returns has issues in their assembly and quality of hardware they use in their product. Than goodness for Best Buy's return policy!

    I wanted to like it

I've had this laptop for only 2 days, and right on the first night I already noticed it getting a little too warm and the fan a little loud. I'm not getting any of the yellow or wifi problems that people are complaining about, but a big problem is the fact that a majority of the time it goes too sleep or I close the lid, it will not wake up! Rarely it does, but I have to hold down the power button. Also, there were times where the touch screen became unresponsive or the screen wouldn't flip when the orientation of the screen was changed, even when I press the side button. I was really excited about the Yoga 2 pro, but it seems Lenovo has a lot more work to do. I've updated everything, but to no avail. Will be returning it later this week.

Fast - Great Display but Buggy LENOVO SUPPORT BAD

I really wanted this Laptop in place of a MacBook Pro. You do get more for the money, but what good is it if it's squirrelly. It thinks it is being rotated at times and the screen goes upside down. Auto brightness does not work properly, you have to turn it off. No software to use productively, just crazy BLOATWARE, some you can't remove. ONE MORE THING, IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM AND LENOVO TECH SUPPORT CANNOT ANSWER YOU CORRECTLY, THEY WILL HANG UP ON YOU. I CALLED 6 TIMES AND GOT 5 HANG UP. THEY ARE NOT PROPERLY TRAINED FOR THIS TYPE OF SUPPORT EITHER. IT GOES BACK TO BEST BUY ASAP.

    PLEASE READ-DO NOT BUY

Do NOT buy this computer. I made the mistake of buying 2 of them, and both are UNBEARABLY SLOOOOOW. Loading pages on Chrome, Firefox, and Explorer take forever. Things like drop down menus do not open for about 5-10 seconds after you click on them, and even then, they're blank for a good 3 seconds. Scrolling up/down pages is a nightmare. Even simple pages like email take forever. 9 times out of 10, if I'm typing something, the whole computer will freeze up for another 5 seconds, and then some (but not all) of the characters I typed will appear. Even things like opening the printer menu in control panel takes forever. Average time to open that menu is about 20 seconds, but once time it took OVER 3 MINUTES to open that stupid page. I know the slow connection speed is not because of my internet. My other computer, my iPad, my phones, and my Samsung tablet all work great. And again, I have 2 of these Yoga 2 Pros, and each are so frustratingly slow. Also, it's not just the internet that screws up. Microsoft Word, opening PDFs, watching a video, etc. all stall and freeze the computer. I know it's not a virus because this has been happening on BOTH COMPUTERS since the moment I took them out of their boxes. I called Lenovo tech support, and they claim to not know about these issues. Yet, do your research. There are hundreds of complaints on their own website forums. I wish I had done my research before buying these pieces of junk. Again, do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY THESE. You'll regret it as much as I do. Instead, pay a little extra and buy a Samsung. My Samsung from 2006 is still outperforming this new Lenovo, and this Lenovo is an i7 with a 256 gb solid state. Starting up the computer is fast, but that's it. Everything else is horribly slow. I could not recommend AGAINST the Lenovo Yoga Pro 2 enough. Avoid this computer.

Yellow screen issue existed in mine.

Love the laptop. However, the yellow issue is in this batch. There is no firmware update for this mustard yellow color that shows up instead of a pure yellow. I spoke to Lenovo support. According to them, this is fixed in a newer batch of machines. How to identify the new batch from the old batch is unknown.

    Failed after 15 days

Computer worked ok for a while. It was easy to navigate, flip through the settings between tablet and laptop and navigate. Other than the extremely weak wireless card it was an ok computer. That was until it wouldn't turn on after day 15 (luckily best buy has good customer service). After researching this issue quite a few consumers are having problems with this model. I didn't chance it and traded for another brand of laptop.

Poor build quality (LCD cracked with normal use)

I bought this product 6 months ago. Problem 1) Top part of the lcd cracked during normal use. They wont cover it under warranty, Lenovo Service Center charged me $400 for repair. Problem 2) Volume up button on the side stopped working in 2 months, I did not care for it much. Problem 3) SD card slot never worked. So looking at amount I paid $1300, I was expecting it to be quality product. Really disappointed, I will never trust LENOVO brand again for expensive stuff. I hope this helps someone

less functional than an etch a-sketch

This is not a very good computer! Think really hard about making this you chosen platform. The keyboard is funky, the mouse pad will drive you crazy, windows 8 is not a good operating system and will make you feel like a child. Intel's Bluetooth connector does work consistently and loses connection with the mouse repeatedly during the day and Lenovo does not seem interested in fixing the issue. The versatility of tent model, laptop or tablet seems cool in the store but isn't really very interesting two days later. The battery life is average at best, on the bright side the graphics/picture quality is really pretty good. This basically is a terrible device.

    poor reliability and repair service

I was a happy user for several months. Using it on my daily commute. a month ago, notice the speaker won't turn on periodically until one day it just broke. Check online and found there is common defect with the headphone sensor so even if headphone is not plugged in, the machine thinks it is plugged in. I sent the machine in for RMA three weeks ago and still waiting for Lenovo to get the part required for the repair. Also, no status update for over one week. Extremely unhappy and will tell everyone not to buy anything from Lenovo since they can't even support their defected product.

PC only as good as the OS

I purchased this over the Air, thinking the touch screen would be a benefit that pushed it over the top. In the first 15 minutes of using the system, i realized it wasn't for me. I use Google for my email, calendar, etc. I also use itunes for my music organization. Both of these created major issues with conveniently using this system. They force you to use Microsoft for email, calendar. They let you install itunes, but it is only operational from the desktop screen, so every time you access itunes, you have to switch to desktop view, which is not instantaneous. If you are an exclusive Microsoft user, this may be a good option for you. If you use varied products, don't waste your time.

Yellow is Yellowgreen or mustard color

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I do photography.....having such a high res on a laptop makes things rather small, but the worst of it is that the color is not correct. There are tons of complaints online about this......this is, though it is a fast computer, not a gamer's computer (there is not number pad on the side). Therefore why the high res, fast speed and good amount of storage? How about photoshop and the like. All of you who do photograpy and gave this such a high rating go to a color chart and look at yellow......go to word and highlight something in yellow and you as so many others will see exactly what I am talking about. Geek Squad tried to fix this with the latest fixes. I have spent more time then I wanted to with Lenovo (over ten hours), and this was escalated. They do not have a fix for it. Nor do they have a manual for the laptop to see how to use their keyboard features or their touch pad features or to turn off the touchpad and use as a mouse, since you do have a touchscreen. The touch screen is often not sensitive enough and does not work when you are in such things as Kindle and want to highlight or such. Also, and this is a 8 disaster, though there is an update to 8.1 you still cannot turn the charm off at least on this laptop. MS should have made a button at the tool bar to turn it on and off, but turning it off in settings does not work on this laptop....Normally, I would not need a manual, but no one there seems to know how to properly use their touchpad features and the touchpad is not consistent. There manual is so basic and leaves out so much that it is pathetic. I actually was told by the escalated customer service person that it is not in their warranty to have to explain how to use the touchpad properly.....unbelievable....Lenovo would have done a swap for me, but once I tried to get it determined if they had a fix for this problem they disappeared. You should no that there is a class action suit against Lenovo for the wireless not working on their previous Idea Pad Ultra Book, and I was offered to join the class action suit against them.....they are very quickly going to loose their rep. I could say more, but I think this is enough. I am returning the product. BTW the problem is that samsung made the panels for the screen and it does not integrate properly with the lenovo body, and therefore the color problem. What on earth do I need high res if the color is not accurate?

    Screen Flickering and Screen Blanking

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bought this Yoga Pro 2 13" at Best Buy a few days ago. I noticed immediately the screen started flickering when it's running on battery with the brightness set between 0% and 30 %. Now the screen is not only flickering but also blanking making this laptop totally useless. I am going to return it to Best Buy tomorrow. If you Google it, you will find out many Yoga Pro 2 users are complaining about the same issue and Lenovo hasn't done anything to resolve it. Very disappointed.

My Lenovo turned itself on in the case and fried itself 3 months past warranty. Apparently, it killed this disk drive. Facing a $500 repair on a $1200 machine, its time to say goodbye and seek a higher quality computer.

    wi-fi sketchy at best

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

From the minute I took it out off the box, it couldn't stay connected to register. Lenovo, geek squad, my work tech guys can't fix it. Usually can't stay connected for more than 5 minutes at a time before it can't load a page. Tried multiple different wi-fi locations and my old laptop was right beside it surfing the web on the same wi-fi with no problem. Very frustrating. I was expecting a fast experience but only got delay after delay and had a very unproductive week dealing with this. Returning it tomorrow. Search web...thousands of pages with same problem.
