This 2 in 1 performs as advertised and I have had no problems with it at all. It is 11.6" and that seemed small until I began using the machine. Now, I love its size and think that it is the perfect size especially in tablet mode. The CPU is very fast and runs all of the software flawlessly.... even software that I bought myself and installed. If you are looking for a fast, small 2 in 1 with great battery life.... this is it!

I own a Yoga Pro 2 I7 512gb which has been a terrific laptop, however I wanted something even smaller. Picked up a Surface Pro 3 I7 512gb only to return it after spotting the Yoga 3. The processing time for my typical activities are almost identical to the i7. If you are on the go it would be tough to find anything better. As a commercial land broker I needed something that I can use proficiently while in my vehicle. The only downside is I wish it were available with a 512gb ssd.

    Too slow

Really, at the first sight, I am attracted by the nice design of yoga 3 pro. I planned to buy Dell 2 in 1 at beginning, but I changed my idea after I saw this light weight and nice guy. Even though I care about a lot of the speed of the computer, I will trying this guy. (The yoga 3 pro is inter core m-5Y10 and the Dell is inter core i5.) I was very happy with this yoga pro 3 backing home. However, after one night's experience, I found it was slow, the slow speed exceeds my limitation. So I think I need to change one higher speed computer, or I need to stick with my original plan to buy Dell 2 in 1, even the hard drive of the dell is not SSD.

I was looking for a 2-in-1 laptop that could really double as a tablet. Or if you look at it the other way a tablet that could double as a laptop. Size was important. I found that a 13' inch 2-in-1 was much too unwieldy when used as a tablet. Though I wasn't going to open 20 apps and multi-task like crazy, I still wanted decent performance. I after reading the reviews for the yoga 3 11 online, I was initially a bit hesitant to purchase. People kept harping on the performance. However, when I looked at the specs of this Best Buy Only yoga 3 11, I realized that it had the same CPU as the Yoga 3 Pro and not the slower one sold straight from Lenovo. The 256GB SSD is not shabby. If I were to run out of space, cloud storage or a memory card could fill the gap. I've been very happy that I bought this little computer. It's pretty speedy and good for the light work I want to do with it. As a tablet it is pretty heavy, but it is workable.

    CPU throttling is beyond frustrating

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

When this computer works at a nice CPU speed, say anything over 2.0 ghz, it's great. I love it. Unfortunately every time it is on battery, the Core M CPU gets throttled down to an almost-unusable .74 ghz. Combined with a ridiculous USB ended power cord/brick design, where the brick is actually part of the plus, it makes this unusable. The plug will only stay in the tightest of wall outlets. I had to prop it up with a garbage can. It's light, I like the SSD because it's fast. When it's running at 2.74 Ghz (like now) I love it. Unfortunately, that isn't very often. It seems to be a known problem with the Core M chip. I would avoid it no matter which computer it is in. From Extreme Tech: While many reviewers praise its diminutive size, low weight, and display quality, complaints about battery life, heavy throttling, and poor performance are common...What everyone agrees on is that the system throttles constantly, possibly in part because Lenovo chose to set a 3.5W target for the chip rather than the 4.5W TDP that Intel specifies. If I could return it, I would.

Very sluggish - audio crackling problems.

I was very excited to see the yoga 3 on sale -- I was looking for an upgrade to my previous yoga 2 -- and this seemed to fit the bill. I was doubly fortunate to find an open-box deal that was listed as in perfect shape -- so I got to save even more money. Brought mine home -- and the issues began immediately. Very very sluggish performance. It'd take far too long to open new browser tabs, would sometimes miss clicks, couldn't handle playing youtube videos on full screen, etc. (SUBSTANCIALLY slower than my older yoga 2) Went through and removed all of the lenovo bloat -- was still sluggish. I had to download updated video drivers from intel to get the thing performing somewhat normally. With that fixed, I tried playing a youtube video maximized -- and there was still chop. I had to go and disable power saving mode while on battery power to get the videos to play without chopping. After doing that -- I tested another youtube video, and throughout the video there was an audible crackling noise. You could still hear the video, but there was definitely something 'off'. I tested with headphones (as I suspected maybe bad speakers) -- but the crackling was audible through headphones as well. Further research uncovered that this is a fairly common problem with the yoga 3's. Some people reported success in fixing it by removing the audio drivers and using windows default drivers -- or by upgrading to the most recent audio drivers from realtek. I tried all of these things -- and the audio crackle is still there. It's getting returned today. Hopefully they won't simply restock it and attempt to resell as an 'open box'. There's a reason this model is on clearance. I'd strongly suggest you look at a different laptop.

Great build and body, horrible performance

I was looking for a small, portable yet full powered laptop to take with me while traveling. I liked this model because it was compact, had a touchscreen, folded back and used a more powerful processor than the Intel Celeron's, which wouldn't run Photoshop very well. This was a mistake, the Core M processor is a joke. The computer will run fine for a while, and then everything slows to a crawl. Even with just a few windows open, it's like i'm using a 4 year old computer. I can't even watch 1080P Youtube videos without it stalling. It's a shame, I love the size, build quality and feel of the laptop, but it performs like a cheap $200 laptop. Save yourself some frustration and buy a laptop with a i-Series processor if you want real performance.

I purchased an open boxed version of this product that had been supposedly checked out by the Geek Squad. The Geek Squad called me to advise me that the product passed their testing. The item according to Lenovo exhibited multiple defects that should have been caught by the Geek Squad. The product failed using both Win 8 and Win 10. The hard drive failed on multiple occasions. The key pad was erratic at best although defective is how Lenovo described the issue. The Lenovo agent also felt that there were likely chip set motherboard issues. Thus I wasted more than 5 hours of time but the return person at the customer service and the Geek Squad employee get something to do. The product design is nice. The unit has both the look and feel of a quality item. The product defects should have been caught by both Lenovo and the Geek Squad.

    TERRIBLE STAY AWAY!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I was so excited to get this all in one, but it's terrible! I've had this product for less than 5 months, and it's progressively getting worse. This has easily been the biggest regret on a purchase I've made in the last 5 years. The wifi keeps disconnecting, the touchpad becomes very unresponsive, and the certain icons keep appearing, when they're set to hidden. I sent the laptop in for repair, and Lenovo made everything worse, which I didn't think was possible and blew my mind. The touchpad is now pushed in, and doesn't work, period, left clicking is nonexistent, and their customer service is terrible. Only reason why I'm writing all this is because I'm on hold with Lenovo again, with another issue, I've been on hold for over half an hour now.. The item lags, and is not meant for long purpose, the battery is terrible, this is just a horrible product. Can't believe how much money I spent on garbage.

    About to return it

I bought this on August 1st and likely will return it on Friday. The main problem I am having is that the on screen keyboard does not stay up when in tablet mode. Google chrome also crashes and the system freezes. I immediately upgraded to Windows 10--had 7 and wished to skip over 8. My first concerns came when I tried to look for drivers that I hoped would solve this keyboard problem and the Lenovo site could not recognize my machine. It also did not even list this model as an option. I called tech support and was told they do not support any models which are not using the original operating system. They referred me to Microsoft after seeming surprised when I pointed out that their own forums listed this problem as being present with the Yoga 2 models and fixed with an updated driver .I then called Microsoft and had to leave a message which was returned 7 hours later even though the message said it would be about 90 minutes. After two hours of remote attempts at trying to fix this, I was told that someone else would call me back in two days. I am expecting a call back tomorrow but am not hopeful this will be fixed. This is incredibly disappointing as a good friend recommended it after her experience with a Yoga 2.

OEM Replacement Seems to be Okay, but...

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I bumped my rating UP to fair because the replacement PC is running FAIR but Lenovo's overall Customer Service was unacceptable. Long story short, well sort of. First unit very slow out of the box. Then, within 8 weeks frequent Blue Screen Errors and auto restarts in the middle of whatever I was doing. Geek Squad had it 3 times to no avail. Lenovo Customer Support conceded that it was bad and needed to be shipped back for repair. Status emails from Lenovo were reassuring at first. Then part not in stock and on order (no estimate on when, but I would be notified#. It was not until I pushed back that they told me it would be 6 weeks before the part would get to them, then they could repair. I demanded an escalation, #they did not volunteer it#, they apparently felt that after weeks of poor performance and aborting sessions, waiting two months for a repair of a three month old PC was acceptable. I pressed a manager for a new replacement which she did concede to. The replacement is still slow ... too many Lenovo products forced on you and running in background, but working. SIDE NOTE: In my job and personal life I have purchased 300 - 500 #sorry, didn't actually keep count) laptop & desktop and mini computers from various manufactures over a 20+ year period and NEVER had to have one replaced under warranty.

Wait for Windows10 or go with preinstalled 10

Want windows 10? It's the end of 2015 and you must have a computer which fully functions with a new windows program. This one does not. I contacted Lenovo customer support and they took me through a few steps with reinstalling Harmony - stuff that they can do by taking over your computer remotely - with your permission - something I'd rather do myself. This process made no difference. The touch keyboard still would not work in tablet mode. And I'm not going to fight it when Lenovo says they don't have a driver to update that feature. Windows 8 is on its way out! And I have no interest in any kind of suffering through the update. There were some other features that went a bit wonky with the update and I didn't want any more surprises weeks down the road when the return window closed. I restored it to factory settings and took it back to the nearest Best Buy, 20 minutes away because I like instant returns. At least the return process went smoothly and I got an appropriate and friendly apology. Also, I fell like Best Buy is slipping in their teen years. The computer arrived with no packaging at all, so it slid around in the shipping box with no air peanuts. I'm not sure what's up with Best Buy or Lenovo. I am debating upgrading at all. Yes, I want the new fanless computers, but I'm at the point where I bought a good one a few years ago, still love Windows7, and would only be losing .4 lbs with a Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro vs Yoga 3 11.6 which lost me .8 lbs. I'm still debating if that Yoga 3 Pro 13.3 is good enough for me when an MS surface is even lighter. (And more expensive). Sigh. The 11.6 is light, but the screen pushes the bounds of too small for real work and too large for fun. I'm not sure if it's the Windows10 upgrade or if it's just Windows10 that makes the controls for that awkward and wonky. I waited out Windows 8.1 in favor of 10. I don't see the advantage to "apps" when they are just "shortcuts" to "programs." When I think of quality apps, I think of the ones I run via Android. Sigh again.

    Not compatible with Windows 10

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I recently purchased a Lenovo 11'' Yoga 3. Apparently Windows 10 is not compatible with it, and after downloading Windows 10, I lost major functionality of my Yoga 3, including: 1.) touch screen did not work anymore 2.) USB drives (jump drives, optical mouses, cameras, etc.) were not recognized anymore. I called Lenovo's customer service and the representative said my computer needed to be reset back to Windows 8 in order to determine if the Windows 10 operating system was indeed causing the problems on my computer. He said all my current files would be wiped out. He did not offer any kind of advice on ways to save those files before defaulting back to Windows 8. In retrospect, I should have saved my files to a drop box before defaulting back to Windows 8. But the fact that the tech did not offer this option to me as a way of helping me out is very disconcerting, and shows that this company does not care about its customers. It was not my fault that Windows 10 does not work on the Yoga 3, but the tech made it my problem, and now I have lost valuable files. And in order to try to retrieve this information, I was just told that I would be CHARGED more money. This is absurd, and have been sitting on hold for 30 minutes already.Do NOT subject yourself to this ill-treatment and do yourself a great service by NOT buying a Lenovo product!!!

Worst purchase computer purchase I've ever made

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased on Lenovos website! I bought my Yoga 3 11" at the beginning of July with the purpose of using for college in August. My computer started having problems of the screen flashing white, the speakers crackling at any volume above 30%, and numerous other issues. This was before even the first month I had the computer. So I sent the device in to Lenovos service depot, and they've had it there over a month and the service is on hold because they don't have the parts in their own service facility to fix it. I needed my computer when school started, and my performance is starting to suffer due to an inability to do everything I need to accomplish online. It's unacceptable that a computer certified by Lenovo as a company can't work correctly for even a month and has been full of issues for well over that amount of time. At this point I can't wait any longer for my computer to be fixed - I need to buy a new one because I needed to have a working computer 3 weeks ago. This has been a big hassle over 2 months in the making, my time has been wasted, and I'm starting to fall behind in work. When I talked to them about any other options, Lenovo said their Customer Relations department would call me and fix this with a day or two. IT HAS NOW BEEN OVER A WEEK! I know lots of people who love their Lenovos, so this problem can't' be normal, but a huge warning to anyone who buys their product - If something does go wrong they are VERY unlikely to make it right. At least that is my experience so far. If Lenovo does come along and find a way to turn this situation into a positive I'd be happy to change my review, but until then I would definitely advise no one to buy their products.

i really like the size and looks of this computer, but after trying two of them, i was totally unstatisfied. took the first one back very quickly because of a rattly keyboard. the second one ended up going back too because is was painfully slow, had frequent screen freezes, and finally the screen brightness began to fluctuate while in use. my experience with this nearly turned me off of Lenovo products altogether, but i decided to try a ThinkPad, and WOW! am i glad i did! this is everything i was looking for in a laptop! get you one! http://www.bestbuy.com/site/lenovo-thinkpad-yoga-2-in-1-14-touch-screen-laptop-intel-core-i5-8gb-memory-1tb-hard-drive-black/4310900.p?id=bb4310900&skuId=4310900

Screen breaks easily and Lenovo service is bad.

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The laptop was good until it slid off my daughters lap at college and it bumped something. The glass durability seems to be very low. The screen had a small chip that proceeded to crack all the way across the screen, which also took out the touchscreen. The cost of the replacement screen repair is almost as much as we paid for the laptop. Decided to send it to Lenovo for repairs anyway. They charged $99.00 to diagnose a cracked screen. I reluctantly authorized the repair for an additional $390.00. 9 days later, they have not started the repair, which probably takes 15 minutes. Called for a status update and see when it would be repaired. No call back. Called again the next day, should get a call back in 24 - 48 hours. Seems to me that they have an extremely significant mark up on repairs. This of course creates unhappy customers that write bad reviews. I would not recommend any Lenovo product to anyone, ever. If you insist on buying one anyway, buy an extended warranty. I had a great experience with an unrelated Best Buy extended warranty claim.

Connectivity with a 4K Monitor has been impossible. Have tried different micro HDMI to HDMI cables and adaptors without success.
