Solid but a tad slow

Great for Office suite and light surfing. Can't seem to figure out how to close it though and only use the monitor, even with the docking station I have. Perplexing. Otherwise, solid tool.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-15. To use an external monitor with this device with the lid closed, set up the device to "do nothing" when the lid is closed. You can change this setting in the Control Panel. Click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "Control Panel" in the search window, select "Control Panel". Type "Power" in the Control Panel Search Window at the top right of the window. Select "Change what closing the lid does". Within the dropdown menus, select "Do nothing". You will now be able to close the lid and have the external monitor attached still show your computer screen when the device is turned on. About the battery life, this system has up to 8 Hours of battery life, depending on the work that the device is performing. If you are getting substantially less battery life, be sure there are no unwanted programs running in the background on the device. Also, try changing your power management setting to a more conservative one. You can do this in the control panel, in the power management category on your system. Select a more conservative power management setting to extend battery life.

Even though it was the end of the night, Steve was super patient and helped me find this - open box. Computer runs great - Clean, clear, nice keyboard, aluminum, easy to optimize, and perfect for all around home office use. No complaints so far!

It is a bit heavier than I expected, I can't see myself using it as a tablet but it is nice to have the option. The keyboard is a bit odd, I haven't quite gotten used to it but will with use I think. If I had to do it again I would make the same purchase.

With regard to the keyboard, if you are having issues with a specific key placement, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place, if this is a key you are having difficulty with. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.
