Works great, the SSD has fast boot times and it has plenty of power to do all the run of the mill stuff like email, web, Netflix, etc. All in all a good machine at a great price.

Posted .Thank you for choosing the Lenovo Yoga 710-15 for your daughter. With regard to the WiFi issues you mention, it may have been driver/BIOS updates that were needed. This system has Lenovo utilities installed to help maintain the health of the device and keep the operating system software up to date. Type "Lenovo Vantage" in the Cortana Search window. Select Lenovo Vantage from the list. In the window that opens, click on "Health and Support". In the expanded menu, select "Hardware Scan" In the window that opens, select "Run Quick Tests". This will scan your entire system for errors. Follow any directions that may pop up. If the problem continues after this scan, now click on "System Update". First select Windows update from the menu. Scan your system to be sure you have the latest version of Windows 10. Once that scan is complete, select "Additional Updates". This will scan your device to be sure there are no new BIOS/Driver updates needed. Follow any instructions that may pop up.

Great, reliable laptop

It will generate heat whenever it is turned on, even at idle, this is normal. The onboard fan will maintain the proper operating temperature for the device. You will hear the fan whenever it runs, this too is normal. With regard to the right shift key issue you mention, there is a free software APP called KeyTweak that may help you. You can switch the key functions of specific keys on your keyboard with this software, so you could change the right shift key with the key you hit in its place. Just Google search "KeyTweak" and you will find articles about what the software does and you will find the download location for this free APP.

I just needed something for writing papers and and making videos for my classes. And thats what it does for me. I like that i can do tablet mode. Thats convenient for me qhen i write notes. Disappointing

So i bought 2 of this model, one for me another one for my wife. In paper it looks like a bargain, however when it comes to performance it is extremely disappointing. I ended up returning them and buying 2 HP products from costco, which i am satisfied with. I also bought another lenovo product that was more expensive in Costco, but I was also disappointed and returned it. Maybe I have to pay over 2k to have good quality at lenovo, but in the under 1k market, i am disappointed with them.

Posted .This model has a QWERTY keyboard. It does not have a 10-key numeric pad. There is a Micro HDMI port on this device, that with a Micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter, will connect to a standard HDMI port.

Additionally, with regard to the touchpad, you can make adjustments to the touchpad in your system settings. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad.
